Adopt A Bangel

@ WISHING OCEANS

you know Buffy has a really good skin, that's why she looks like 16! But in the second pic she is 18 going on 19!!!

As fellow Kean said very well, technically in Surprise Buffy and Angel get engaged! And then you know what followed ...So even though it was in a private circle, Buffy and Angel can be considered married! Something Blue was a freaking spell!!!
Also we have to consider the possibility that Buffy might be taking a break from Bangel to see how other ships look like in SB! Spike and Buffy used lots and lots of Listerine afterwards, you know to forget the moment! I,myslef, could offer them some mints for fresh breath!

And in graduation day they had a vamp wedding! WOW Kean how well you expressed that, girl!!!

That wasn't a legal marriage OR engagement because nobody said "you are now husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Those were just promise rings. 😀

I think this is where we find ourselves on sticky ground because there isn't a day that goes by on these boards were I don't stop myself from giving my honest opinion on Spike/Spuffy because quite frankly, I don't feel like I can without having to "explain myself" somehow. This thread is the exception to that rule and I thank the stars that we have it.

You feel you have to defend Spuffy at every turn but I feel the exact same about Bangel.

Somehow this thread has turned into Ship Therapy! lol

But can't you see, honestly, that by having to "explain yourself" that you are actually attacking the Spuffy relationship, causing us to defend it? I can't speak for every Spuffy on the boards, but for myself, I have NEVER said or implied that Buffy never loved Angel, nor have I tried to gloss over it by saying, "yes, she loved him, but only as a best friend. Other than that one disastrous time, she just saw him as her best bud." BUFFY WAS IN LOVE WITH ANGEL. See? All capital letters, no argument from me. Buffy will always be in love with Angel. We can agree completely on that fact, right?

But somewhere between going off to college, dying, being resurrected, and activating all of the Potentials on the planet, Buffy also fell in love with Spike. See, that's the fly in the Bangel ointment. We can accept that Buffy loved Angel. But we constantly have to defend and explain what happened after Angel left Sunnydale to star in his own show.

But this thread is getting way too serious, and I'm beginning to think that we're gonna drag it into a mud slinging contest. As much as I hate to do it, since I am the daddy of this thread, I feel that, seeing how things are beginning to go, I have no choice. So...

Agent L...

And all you Bangels out there, I'm sorry it had to come to this. You have forced me to activate our Final Solution mole. What happens now is entirely on your heads, and may Joss have mercy on all of us.

Remember, we tried to do this peacefully, with love and understanding, even sympathy. What a waste!

whatever your plan is, it won't work mister...Bangel never dies!
Oh yeah it was said. Angel signaled her with his eyes. He tends to do that. 😉

Nope you need a... whatever it's called. Judge? Priest? Rooster? Hm. 😀

Either way, Buffy was 17 and Angel was... well, he wasn't anything. 😀 But let's just say he was 26. Uh... Illegal marriage and statutory rape? 😀

Oops, thread over... Well, got in the last word anyway. 😀

This is not over. It will NEVER be over as long as a single one of our brothers and sisters remains trapped in the dungeons of Bangelhood.

I thought you said there was no marriage? So there is now but its an illegal one? And it's NOT considered statutory rape where I come from. About that last word... ;)
E

it is not rape...cause Buffy started it!!!She was all over Angel..."kiss me" and stuff...Angel is not to blame!!!
I think I'm glad I'm not a diehard anything. No super obssessed shipping for me.

I'm happy reading about Spike and Angel sleeping around with anyone, throwing their "I love you"s and "Take your clothes off" like love/sex sluts. Sure, Buffy's nice, but why get tied down to one chick?

*hoping that my plan to direct hostility towards me instead of each other is working.... Not that I lied*

Let's be happy!

*putting on some dance music*

Let's join in dance. The action of love, understanding and booty shaking!

Maybe we could video tape it and call it "Spuffies and Bangel' Gone Wild." We could get a big bus and travel all over the country, taping drunk college girls...I mean...uh...Buffy fans...

It's not statutory rape where I live either, but as a mom of 2 girls I can still say it's icky. A 26-ish year old ever sleeps with my 16 year old daughter (when they get that age) and he'll be missing some body parts he would really prefer to keep. And that's just if I get to him before their dad does.

lol! certainly every mother thinks that way!You are right but it depends on the circumstances
BillyidolwannaB agrees: Also, us bangels dont have to defend our ship because its obvious bangel is the main ship 😉 whereas, Buffy doesn't obviously love spike, its just what spuffies 'choose' to believe, haha spufs=jealous.
Huh? Who says Bangel is the "main ship"? Not where I'm standing, friend. There are loads more Spuffy-themed journals, fan fics, and journals for the Spuffy ship.

How does Buffy not "obviously love Spike"? She told him she did. What more confirmation do you need?

I'd like to direct you all to this fabulous journal entry: Molly May -
It's not meant to try to "convert" any of you, I just think it gives some great perspective.

In the end, though...'shipping wars are pointless. No one will ever changes their minds, now will they?

According to Grey's Anatomy all you actually need is a post-it!

... what? I'm totally confused, a POST- IT? :D

Well, I was just going along with your guys' crazy ramblings. 😉 There was no marriage, IMO. 😀

And where I'm from if you're under 18, it's statutory rape. 🙂
Eleftheria agrees: it is not rape...cause Buffy started it!!!She was all over Angel..."kiss me" and stuff...Angel is not to blame!!!

Rape and statutory rape are different. 🙂 In America, there are rules about how old a girl can be when she is LEGALLY allowed to have sex. In many places, it says that any girl under the age of 18 cannot have sex. They're not old enough to give consent. They can say yes all they want, but since they're young it doesn't matter, and so it's considered a type of rape that guys are punished for all the time. 😀

Of course, in some cases the girls can be as young as 14: erm : , but still, IMO that whole 16 year old and 26 year old thing is pretty icky... 😀

How about that Joss said that Buffy meant it?

I used to believe she was maybe just nice, or meant it in the "I love you non-romantically"-way, but then Joss said she meant in love, so... Of course, if you only count on screen stuff, it's up to debate. I mean, different writers may have different views, so who says we can absolutely trust Joss if all the other writers disagree? He could even change his mind one day.

I hope that wasn't all too serious. No need to start the war. : popcorn:

Yup, a post-it.

It doesn't matter what Joss says 😀 He could tell me Illyria was really green with pink poka dots but I won't believe him because I didn't see it that way 😛

As a writer, he has the ability to change whatever he wants. We've seen that with Spike's age and other inconsistancies.
So at the end of the day, we only believe what we see 🙂 Doesn't matter what Buffy, Spike, Angel, Joss, the milkman, or the hobo down the street says 😛

Yeah, what joss says doesn't matter. Its what happens on screen that counts lol. The 'no you dont' line from spike must kill em.

It's not a river in Egypt...
See? It's all this turmoil and confusion, brought about by the misconception that Angel was Buffy's one and only, that stirs up all the disagreement, hurt feelings, and ruffled feathers around here. When all the Bangels are finally shown the light, we can concentrate on more important matters. Like maybe Angel and Nina. Those two crazy kids just so obviously belong together...

Gotta admit, i do like Nangel.
BillyidolwannaB agrees: Yeah, what joss says doesn't matter. Its what happens on screen that counts lol. The 'no you dont' line from spike must kill em.

Why would it kill?

Of course, we don't always know what goes on on screen, so listening to the writers, who can explain what the character felt(at least in the script, since the actors could influence the end result, like for example, Marsters played the scene at the Bronze in School Hard more in a sexual way, which the writers might not have intended), could be a good help for the individual to interpret the scene "correctly"(even tough there's no such thing as only one correct way to interpret).

Why? I think it's a good thing. 🙂 It showed how incredibly selfless their relationship was. Spike loved her so so so much; Telling her "no you don't" wasn't a fact, it was an instruction. He was basically telling her that so she would be over to get over him and not grieve over his death too much. If he said "I love you too" then she'd probably spend too much time brooding about what could've been and feeling guilty. It really showed how far they'd gone in their relationship, how they were completely willing to give up everything for the other. He just wanted her to happy and to not worry about him. 🙂

Plus, it adds mystery and ambiguity to their awesome 'ship. 😀 I mean, who wants all those annoying love proclamations? This really shows a deeper love between two people that's truly beautiful. 🙂

I don't really think he meant it that way, just they "No, I don't believe you way", but your interpretion is lovely.
Every time the subject gets around to the "I love you," "No you don't..." scene, I can't help but think just how much fun it would have been if Spike had been more of a "Star Wars" fan like Andrew was. Can you imagine how much debate would have been stirred up if, like Han Solo at the end of "The Empire Strikes Back," Spike had simply said, "I know,"?

Nahh, then Spike couldn't have been as annoyingly heroic as he was. 😉

He was wasn't he? It's annoying to watch it now, when I think she actuallly means it. I feel so sad and annoyed for/at him.
