I liked Angel and Cordy. They seemed to have something more real than him and anyone else. It was cute watching them grow together. It was much more meaningful than him and Buffy. And he and Darla were all just sex and murder. I try to shy away from endorsing relationships based on sex and murder.

Hey, sex and murder can be an amazing bonding experience... literally, as I understand it!

I did like that Cordy could put Angel in his place. Gotta give her props for that.

lol. Not that I have any real experience with the whole sex + murder = bonding thing.

I'm just saying. I think their experiences, which I will grant you were definitely not of the good, did bind them in a unique way. I saw a deeper connection there than I saw with either Buffy or Cordy.

As far as healthy relationships go, well, I do agree with you. I think he and Cordy had the potential to have a healthy, relatively happy pairing -- the healthiest and happiest of any possible pairing, I think. It's a shame we never got to see that.

But what about Spike? I like how Joss said, "We finally found the right girl for Angel -- and it's Spike!" I'm not seriously suggesting them as a romantic pairing, but I think I agree with Joss in that I enjoyed the way those two played off of one another more than I enjoyed any of Angel's romantic pairings.
 
Yeah, I LOVE watching Spike and Angel together. For Christmas I think I'd just like a running video stream complete with vocals (and subtitles) for my screen saver. I'd never see my computer desk top AGAIN!
But, BOY their kids would have BAD HAIR!

Yeah. Definitely. Why did Joss & co. give the two male romantic leads such horrible hair? I felt especially sorry for James Marsters. At least David Boreanaz could wash out the hair gel when shooting was over. Poor James Marsters had to actually walk around in public and live his life with his hair like that! God - can you imagine the potential but not really possible kid's hair? Platinum poofiness.

And to make matters worse, MY SON'S hair could be the actual example. Horribly white, cow licks all over. Kind of sticks up funny if you let it grow even a smidge too long.

Had to pick Buffy, almost went for Darla though, but definetly NOT Cordelia
 
I am curious to see how it would work out with Angel and Faith. So Faith got my vote 😀
 
I really like the Darla/Angel pairing, most likely because it reminds me of Spuffy. : king : Also, I love the depth, history, and forbade in their relationship. They've known each other for centuries, went from soulless lovers to enemies to allies. Angel would have given his life to save her. And, well, the relationship is just so awkward and beautiful, have to love it. : popcorn:
 
I voted Cordelia. Because, as long as it's not Buffy, I'm okay with it. And I kinda like the not so very much a relation-part about their relation.

You've got Angel and Spike missing 😛 But well, I ... euh, where was I? I got distracted... it's snowing... sooo, yeah Angel and Spike would be a nice and merry vampire family or just Angel and Darla and Spike and Drusilla in a flat-share and so on. That would also be fun. Buffy and Angel is boring and stereotype, so finally I picked Faith, because she is for some odd and peculiar reason the most unlikely to end up in bed with Angel. At least I doubt Angel to get that drunk on blood ^^
 
I voted for Cangel. Cordelia and Angel had this amazing connection that started out from annoyance and became friendship, and it was a mature and realistic relationship that blossomed into something that was beautiful. It was complicated, it was emotional, it was gripping, it was *real*. What Buffy and Angel had was an immature fairy tale love. All they did was put their relationship above all other things, hoping that it could sustain them forever and ever. Eventually they came to understand that, even though there will always be that love between them that is like that of a brother and sister.

Angel definitely would not just forget Cordelia, throw away what they had, and run away to Buffy. Cordelia will always be in his heart, and she's really, the one for him, and he for her. Cordelia was able to bring out this reluctant shell of a vampire and change him into a better person. Angel, in turn, changed Cordelia into a beautiful, amazing, and better woman. Argue with me if you like, but you just can't compare to that.

Joss and the writers didn't create all of this beauty for Bangel fans to just throw away the resonance and message of Cangel, which was a better relationship for Angel and for Cordelia.
