God, that was the most tragic thing for me in the Episode "Chosen". She was so hyped up on her bunny rage, fighting away and then she's sliced right in two! HOW awful. Shes pretty much the only "important" one [other than spike] who died in that battle. Kinda sucks though. I mean Her last lines were sarcastic, she was asleep like an idiot the night before. She's just that dope Anya, like we've always seen, but I think season seven gave her alot more depth. Which made her death hard, she was the funny one, and we realize now that there is alot more to her than that, [selfless] and then she dies.

It was the saddest part of the episode for me....::uh::
 
I agree Anya's death was so sad. i mean I never really liked her like alot i mean she had her moments but other then that i was like Eh ok.... lol but that was so sad. Then when Xander tries calling out for her and he doesn't see her in the group of dead bringers and like wreckage. Very sad indeed
 
Her death was very hard. I mean, we all knew someone was going to die, but not a lot of people expected it to be Anya. At that point in the episode I was still smiling from a previous scene and then the ork (ubervamp. I just like calling them orks) goes all slicey with the- big... slicey... thing... yeah... and I dropped my jaw and fell over. Not trying to be funny here, I'm serious. I think I swallowed a whole pack of Double Bubble.

I was glad Xander didn't take it too hard. Well, he probably did take it very very hard, but... what I'm saying is I'm glad he didn't start bawling on screen right there and break down on his knees. 'Cause that would have been just extremely overwhelming. Or cheesy, and overwhelming.

No, I think Nick would have done a breakdown scene very well. Remember his scream in Dirty Girls?
yeah. I completley agree, but I love Xander's line about her when they get off the bus. You can watch that whole episode on YOUTUBE. Its just really sad to me. In the really dramatic parts of that episode Xander looks like such a joke with the patch on...

Whoops... you're right, it is a bringer. I need to go watch the whole season again at some point. I forget quickly.
 
I was distraught. I just kept thinking "WHYYYYY?!?!?!?!". But it was ok cuz at least she didn't die all FLAMEY by the hand of D'Hoffryn like Hallie.

My dad kept saying stuff like "She got cut in half!" every time i'd be wathcing an Anya ep for about 6 months after it aired. I was only 14 so that was pretty much upsetting. 😛 But now, we laugh at the funny Anya lines instead of mourn her death.
 
Anya's death was really sad she was really funny,not everyone got her comedy but she always used to make me laugh with some of the lines that she used to come out with.It was really sad when Xander was looking for her and she wasnt there 🙁
i think if Anya had died before season 7 i wouldnt have been as bothered but in season 7 you get to see her character in more detail and developed, you got to see the true Anya and how she got to be who she was,which i think made her death even sader.
 
I was in shock... I had that feeling like your stomach dropping... sort of like when Buffy died.. or when Buffy stuck a sword through Angel... I had that same feeling.. and even though Anya isnt a favorite character I still really liked her and her death was just so uncalled for!!! 🙁
 
I watched chosen again last night and it still shocks me the way Anya died. It is very sad but I think it shows the reality of war, not everyone survives.
 
I was shocked when I saw it. I never expected her to die since she was given a lot more depth in the last season, and she was a funny, funny character. They only showed us, like, a few seconds of how she got sliced through, but enough to leave us all in shock.
 
Anya's death was quite possibly the saddest and most tragic. Well, maybe tied with Joyce's. Even though I liked Tara I wasn't that sad when she died.
 
How could anyone not have seen Anya's death coming a mile off.
Of course Anya was going(and i'm not talking about the fact she asked to be killed off because Emma didn't wanna come back), it was painfully obvious by the fact that Andrew 'knew' he was going to die and that Anya was going to live.
I was more stunned at the lack of originality than at the death.

I don't think the fact that anya died was so shocking, it was how she died. It was so fast and sudden, thats what shocked me anyway.
