I found this today.

Due to recent complaint about 'unrealistic' storylines, I have decided to discontinue the Buffy season 8 series as of now. The fans have let me down, and this is my way of paying them back. This is the end of the Buffy saga, no more comics, no spin-offs, no movie.

I don't really care about the Comics but my heart sank when it said no movie or no spinoff. I still have hope after all thank god.

Was it a prank by Joss himself i wonder? If so then Buffy is very much still at the forefront of his mind which is great :smile3:

You totally got me with this one, I came online and as soon as I saw the thread I started heading towards angry dollhouse cancellation flashbacks :silly:

Phrased like that, I didn't even find it believable *before* someone mentioned today's date. It's just too sulky.

Joss makes it for fun but mostly for money. He would kill his reputation too if he just canceled the series.
In fact, Joss can't do it to his fans. Fox controls the comics license, not him. Only Fox or Dark Horse could cancel the season 8 comics and, considering it's still the top-selling indie comic out there... they ain't gonna. 🙂

Plus, if Joss cancelled every project where fans complained about stuff, he'd be working as a people-greeter at Wal-Mart by now.

Haha, that's funny. No way they're gonna cancel S8. It almost ends. And no way Joss would say "this is my way of paying them back." if it's not today. 😀
 
Well as much as I'd love to say I believed this, I just didn't, Its unprofessional and unrealistic, Sure I could see them canceling the comics but I don't believe Joss would say that it was payback to the fans because they have let him down. Totally unbelievable there 🙂 but good try 😀
 
I paused for a moment then, before clicking on this thread. My mind was yelling 'But, I wanted the rest of season eight, at least!' Then I suddenly remembered the day. xD It was pretty believable. 😛
 
Could have been a bit more realistic...
Although it never fooled me because I make sure I know exactly when it is the 1st April so I dont get fooled!
