i got her album a couple of days ago i love it espically Skater Boi , I'm with you , Mobile , Unwanted and naked - lol
On BUffy cool wonder which song she will sing ??
 
Skater Boi is a cool song.

I think though if I met her in person, I would have a few choice words to say.
 
I live in the UK and I have heard Avril's song Complicated on TRL. The UK top 40 is full of really good music but not music that is made by bands. It's all hip hop, r and b, garage, house and dance music which if any Americans listened to it you would kinda freak -- no offence -- I love people like Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne and Vanessa Carlton but cause I am British I don't get to listen to the American charts, only on TRL which is only shown 2 nights a week and MTV Europe play TRL episodes from last year!

i am like exactly the same as you - lol - all my friends make fun of me though cos i know listen to Michelle B and Avril and not So Solid Crew and stuff - i order all there CD's off CDWOW.com before they come over here - lol - cos otherwise it would take ages. 🙁

I love her music, the songs i have heard just make me want the cd even more.
 
I liked that article bashing her, all of it was true. I don't like her at all, she is a poser. She may sing good but whats the point of her saying she "punk" when clearly shes just a poser? Just my opinion, don't hate me.

I don't care if she's a poser or not, I just listen to the music. I mean if it's good then it doesn't even matter to me.
 
Yeah it's true you should like an artist for their music if it's good, it's good but she says she sings punk, but the music doesn't sound like any punk I've heard.
 
I gotta agree with you, bean. I also read the article, and I found it very informative. I still like her song (that being singular, because the only song I like is Complicated), but I don't like her; not after what I read about her.

Ummmmm... I've never heard of her or her songs.

How come in that article, the first annoyance is that she doesn't write her own songs...yet the second annoyance is the lyrics of her songs. Isn't that contradictive? Which ironically, is one of the main points that the writer has against Avril.

Fact is, while there may be truth in that article, the writers bias takes away any credibility from it. Just look at this quote...

Well, cry her a ****ing river. Avril, darling, you chose that lifestyle. You chose to drop out of high school, move to LA, and pursue your career. Deal with the consequences.

That isn't informative, that's just the writer having an obvious beef with the artist for no reason.
 
So I downloaded her album to see what it was like, and well it's poop (IMO). She goes on about being "punk" and so you'd expect her album to be a "punk" sounding album, but most of the songs sound like Michelle Branch. There's only a few soungs that are really upbeat pop-(dare i say it) punk, the rest is all Michelle Branch sounding.
