Bangel in the Buffy reunion

^I think that's how their working relationship has always been, honestly. You can see it later in the reunion discussion when Sarah informs everyone that he would try to make her break character/laugh by shedding clothes during their scenes. Also in previous discussions, it has been known that they would continually try to "one-up" each other during scenes.

I think that banter is just how SMG & DB are when you actually see them in the same time and place. It's...ADORABLE.

Ah, Buffy the 'weekend killer'. Probably their most famously known one-upmanship.

They are very Emily and David. Looking at the interviews they gave together back then as promotion for Buffy S4 and Angel S1 is filled with banter. Whether it's them arguing over who gets a boyfriend/girlfriend first or at all or other stuff. Wish there was more interviews with just the two of them. My fave is one that supposedly exists but I've only seen in transcript. I would kill for that one, even just in audio form.

“Well it hardly seems fair that in the 3 years of Buffy we got so very few moments of intimacy between Buffy and Angel”.

Sarah: “Well while few and far between I think we got a few really nice ones, there’s the beginning of ‘The Prom’, graveyard picnic in ‘Choices’ and you know there’s a few other cute ones."

David (smiling at Sarah as she totally missed the way the interviewer says intimacy): "She (interviewer) means the sex."

Sarah: "Oh. Oh! Well, you know, can’t really go there, perfect happiness thing remember? My goodness, everyone is always talking about more Buffy and Angel sex. Besides we gave the one already."

David: "Very artsy."

Interviewer: "Surprise? No, wait, Innocence."

Sarah: "I remember that day, not as romantic and beautiful as it looked. Set was very hot, with the lights and all bat-signaling, and we ended up all sweaty limbed after a few minutes and there’s the ‘okay hand here, leg there, head this way’ and we are sliding off each other like slip and slides."

David: "That’s not how I remember it."

Sarah: "Well how do you remember it?"

David: "Slip and slide yes, there was also the candle wax, riding crops, I think she called me daddy a few times… Just too hot for TV."

Sarah: (blushes and laughs) "Yeah that’s really how it happened."

I figured out what my favorite part of Sarah's answer was. I LOVE how she said «but for me as Buffy». She really loves that role and it feels like it's really personal for her. I'm not surprised since I know she complained about Buffy's character development a few times during the show's run and clearly had a lot of insight into the character. But it just feels so good to still see her talk as Buffy in the present, like she's still feeling that role. My Buffy loving heart is full and the fact that after all those years Buffy and Angel's story still resonates with her makes me smile like an idiot.

One of my favorites (and to my knowledge it is only in print interview form) is when DB insists that they need to shack B/A up together and put her on his show like that permanently. I think it was in reference from post-IWRY's ep.

And can I just say I totally loved the snippets of Alyson and Amber? Completely adorable...those two still give me tears.

Oh I know, no socks for David. Supposedly when they filmed that scene where he comes back from hell all naked, David refused to wear a sock because it was *ahem* too tight. And it was a closed set but Alyson supposedly sneaked onto set to check out the goods. Not sure how true either of that is.

I don't even ship Bangel and I think they're adorable. Its so nice to see that's they're still so relaxed and friendly after all these years n.n
Makes me wonder if Freddie's ever been jealous of the two actually.

Or if David's wife is ever jealous. I'm gonna say no. Freddie was in a couple eps of Bones with David, I'm sure they're cool. Sarah and Freddie are adorable together and seem like they have a great marriage. I remember reading SMGs ask me anything Reddit a couple years ago, and every time she mentioned kissing David she always said something like " Sorry (insert David's wife's name)" so she's respectful. They're just so great together though.

I would say no to either being jealous as well. FPJ knew SMG back in the glory days and probably to a lesser extent, actually knew of her friendship with DB...so I think everything is great there. Plus, they are each other's vacation stalkers! I think they honestly all like each other. I've also noticed that Jamie has liked a lot of SMG's instagram posts, so I think they're all chill with each other.
 
Thank you for making gifs of those parts of the show. I didn't catch everything they were saying so it was nice to have it written out as it made more sense now. 🙂

It's nice to see that Sarah & David still have that wonderful chemistry. 🙂

Oh, and I just have to mention how much I enjoyed the part about David being naked on set. It's not surprising that Sarah enjoyed Buffy and Angel so much. She always looked like she was having a great time kissing David and combing her fingers through his hair. Now we find out that she also got to see him fully naked? Wow, no wonder Sarah still seems to have a crush on "her Angel" 😉

The only question left is: WHERE IS THE FOOTAGE OF NAKED DAVID?! Seriously, if it exists, someone needs to share it 😛

Btw, did anyone catch the part where David says something about Ithaca college and a gypsy roommate while Sarah is speaking? I can't catch what David says during the Angel vs. Spike thing either. When Sarah says Angel is Buffy's ultimate, David says something unintelligible. And before that he also says something about it being a tough question to answer? I assume he's being sarcastic?

Oh yeah. I am sure SMG thought kissing DB was the most frustrating and hardest part of her job, hahaha!

I remember hearing stories about how he (and to a lesser extent Glenn Quinn) used to pants everyone. I assumed he did to everyone but SMG...but you know at least she got to see the whole "package".😉😱😀😛

I think we now know he was LEGIT NAKED in IWRY. SRSLY.

I did hear him reference Ithaca college...flashback to the past, I tell you.

When she's talking about B/A and she talks about how she adores James and David playfully acts all butthurt...it reminds me of an old SD interview where they debate about her getting a new boyfriend versus him getting a new girlfriend and then says that they never argue. ADORABLENESS. I CAN'T HANDLE IT!!!!🙂😛😀
