BtVS Confessions...

Towards the end of season 6, everyone is doing such crazy things that the only characters I really like during that time are Dawn and Tara.

Also, I've never disliked Dawn. I even like her a lot of the time. 🙂

I can only think of a few right now.

* I think S2 was incredibly overrated.
* I think that later seasons were far better than the earlier ones.
* On that note, I think SMG looks best in seasons 4-7.
* I really didn't like Cordy. At all.

agree on no. 3
I've got another one:

I am not totally opposed to the idea of a rebooted Buffy. I would like to see basically the same premise: a more or less normal girl is given (demonic) powers to fight supernatural evil. But I'd like to see it taken in new directions, with new supporting characters, a new location other than Sunnydale, and a new take on the whole Buffyverse mythos.

I think with an intelligent writer at the helm and semi-descent actors, it could be really interesting. I just can't say Joss is god anymore and his script is inerrant holy text. No, I just can't say that at all after the comics.

I posted this in another thread, but I am going to make it official....

I think Tara is also to blame for Willow's magic abuse...

There I said it. *hides*

zobothehobo agrees: How? And was that said in "The Logic of S6 Willow and the "Magic Equals Drugs" Metaphor"? Because I do want to read that thread...

Yes...read it! It makes so much sense. Tara never fully stopped Willow from using magic. She gave her an ultimatum and never actually kept it until afterwards. Plus, she knew that Willow was doing something huge and dark while
bringing Buffy back from the dead
but she didn't say anything. She just kept on like a fly on the wall, and stayed Willow's lap dog. It bothers me so much, and it hurts me to see Tara, the finest of the scoobies, conforming to Willow's crap!

the spoilered part is a Huh-UGE plot hole regarding Tara's character, I've always said that.

I'm really surprised you'd say that.

me too. trust me. I've been trying to convince myself otherwise. But it always bothered me lol
Here we go. I can't believe I'm going to do this. Dawn sucks. She's awful and self centered. But she's not THAT bad. She's not evil incarnate like I originally thought. She's just an annoying obnoxious little sister... but she DOES have some lovable and endearing moments and she's not the worst character ever. I'm no where near liking her, but I've warmed up a bit.

I never really thought about it that way before. I always thought about it more like the couple that enjoys going out and getting totally drunk every Friday and being hungover all day Saturday together taking turns whinging about their hangovers and holding each others hair back while vomitting. Then suddenly one half of the couple starts doing it more regularly, and then starts pairing it with pills, and then all of a sudden starts spiralling.

I don't know if I have used my analogy perfectly, but that's how I always saw it.

Not only did you word it perfectly but we know now how you spend your Friday nights! I never thought of Tara as an enabler though, honestly. Xander I can see it though, and certainly Buffy. If Tara was guilty of anything it was for being naive and not understanding the changes in Willow.

Let's just say Willow was a victim of circumstances, shall we? 😛

Oh, here's one that's kind of weird. I like Amber Benson, but when I see the scene where Dawn is sitting with her body and everyone comes in to find Tara, I see Amber breathing. I start yelling at my screen "TARA YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!!"

totally takes me out of the scene.

zobothehobo agrees: Did you actually expect her to not breathe? If you look at The Body you can see Kristine breathing too. It's because they're both alive.

I didn't notice Kristine breathing as much as I noticed Amber's. In death scenes typically the actor's breathing isn't so noticeable. I know they're both alive but their characters are dead.

This made me laugh reasonably hard!

zobothehobo agrees: Ew.

Agreed. For starters she was way underage (isn't she only 14?) and it would be statutory rape.

I'm glad I made you laugh! Here have some karma!!!!

I kept rubbing my eyes when I saw that.

Hm. Or as I see it, she was around since the 12th century 😉
But I still think it's cute. Very cute.

msfantastico87 agrees: Dander karma!

Whew, at least someone agrees.

I'll let you get away with your weird ship choice only because it's the confessions thread! I don't mind Dander, but only S7 onwards.
awesome topic

-I LOVE Connor, adore him with all my little heart.

-While I'm fond of the beginning of the relationships of season 1, I actually am not particularly fond of the episodes in general... Except Prophecy Girl and Angel

-Hate Kennedy... although I'm hearing that isn't too uncommon of a confession

-I hate Principle Wood, and I ESPECIALLY didn't like Wood and Faith, though I understood it from Faith's perspective.

Okay I'm sure there's more and I'll get to those as I remember them

Connor karma!
Okay. I guess I should make some confessions rather than just ripping on everyone elses hey?! So...

- I don't like Faith
- I don't like Xander
- I have no problem with Parker, Scott Hope, or Riley or their treatment of Buffy.

I have more, but I'll start with those ones! Hehe.

Kinda neutral on these people.
