Best... Buffy... Book... EVER! This thread is making me what to read it again for the 34,000 time. One of the only books that ever made me cry. Don't ask why. I love that book.

We should have book discussion threads. I know I have several Buffy books that warrant conversation just as Buffy/Angel episodes do. Is this within BB policy?

Maybe one or two but one for each may get out of hand. An official "Buffy and Angel book" topic might be made if you ask.

You could ask to make a seperate Book Discussion thread rather then changing this one.

Well I saw it in Birmingham today and you all made me buy it 😛 Read it on the train home and it seems okay.

They should make these into episodes. They'd be better than the Wish.

GILES IS A EVIL VAMP!!! That's sad, Xander without a sense of humor.

What part are you up to???? It gets better as it gets more into it...

Not the best Buffy books ever [Immortal and The Wisdom of War beat it out by a smidge], but pretty damn close. I really liked the new Slayer, and the fact they called Faith 'The Prodigal'. And, and...SPIKE KILLED FAITH! I feel vindicated and very angry at the same time.

Oh, but there were so many threads in that book that I just loved. Like with Parker working for the vampires in order to save his ass. Buffy busted his ass on that. Go her.

And Drusilla. Dru was back, albeit for about thirty seconds before Buffy got to torching her ass with a frickin' flare.

All in all, it ranks very high on my list of awesome Buffy books. I liked it. A lot.

A vamp that reincarnates whenever killed is trying to raise an ancient demon that will "drink the blood of the last man on earth."

That's Immortal. I liked Mortal Fear, that was one of the better crossovers.

I also have the book "Chosen" which is a novelization of the seventh season. It's pretty cool because you get into the characters heads some more.

Tales Of The Slayer Series Novel

You know the books, written by many writers, called Tales Of The Slayer? It has 3 volumes, and a fourth volume is coming out.Are those books fanfics from the writers?Or do they really become part of the buffyverse, joss has created.Joss and his team of writers, wrote a comic, called "Tales Of The Slayer".I know those are part of the bufyverse, because Joss, nd his crew wrote it.The Fray series, is also part of the buffyverse. But what about the tales of the slayer novels?are they fanfic?

I don't know, but I always wondered about it.

If it's not, tghatn I'm going out to buy some. 🙂

I'd say the first book of Tales of the Slayer at least would be Jossverse, because he was connected to the project. I know he wrote the prologue with the First Slayer. Didn't he also write the Fray episode at the end.

Also the other writers were writers who had discovered the Buffyverse under Whedon's tutelage; people like Kirshner, Fury, and Espenson. They are familiar with Buffy canon, and Joss's vision as communicated from Joss's mouth to their ears.

I haven't read the other books yet, but I'm going to assume they're similar. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I'm not sure it matters, but does anyone know how exactly that anthology was but together? Who picked the writers? Who decided what was going where?

Official Buffy And Angel Book thread

Ok, guys-

You asked for it, and here it is. This is a discussion thread for Buffy and Angel novels across the board. I will merge the one on the Lost Slayer into this one and here you can have a full discussion of all of the novels. Enjoy!

Thanks so much!
Did anyone else read "The Book of Fours" and go HUH? at the end? I thought that book was kind confusing, if anyone wants to clarify that would be good.

It could have been such a great story...I read the back when I was at the bookstore, and it seemed really interesting, but then I started reading it and it wasn't as good as it could have been.

I really liked hearing about India, the slayer before Buffy. It's funny how on the series Buffy never brings up the girl whose death activated her as the slayer...

Books of Buffy I've read:
-The Book of Fours
-Immortal
-Apocalypse Memories
-Primevil
-Chosen

All those books are recommended, except for Primevil, and Chose. Primevil was okay, not the best book. And Chosen was just like the transcripts of ever episode of Season 7. Only reason why I bought it was so I could read the episodes I missed.

Book of Fours: Awsome Book. Awsome pretty much sums it up. Because it had flash back, 4 slayers. It was awsome.
Immortal: Awsome as well. Very recommended.
Apocalypse Memories: Some what confusing at points, but all in all it was really good. Considering it was set after Same Time, Same Place. And it was kinda centered around Willow, bt yet not at the same time.
