Many folks claim that Buffy's last line was meant to indicate how she felt about Spike, but I see it differently.
If I remember correctly, it's Giles that says something like "Who did this" with reference to the big hole in the ground. It's then that Buffy says her last line, "Spike"
Isn't that more along the lines of answering the question of Giles rather than pronouncing her love for him?
I'm sure she admires him for the sacrifice he made and is grateful for it (cause nobody else could have done it), but does that indicate love?

BUT, Spike isnt the only one who could have done it. It was actually meant for Angel.
