Characters You Used to Hate And Now Like/Vice Versa

Harmony. I don't like her, but I could NOT stand her until Angel Season 5. lol
I was SOOO happy when Spike staked her and I literally went DAMMIT!! when she didn't dust 😛
But then I grew used to her 😀
Lilah. I did nottttt like her. She annoyed me so much. & by the time she died, I LOVED her lol
Connor. Obviously, he was WAY better in S5.
Riley. He never really bothered me the first time around; I just didnt' care for him but now whenever I rewatch he annoys me SOOOO much.
I think that's it. lol

I didn't particularly care for Warren the first time through, but now I think he's a great character. Wesley (as in early Wesley - I always liked him in the later seasons of AtS) has also grown on me.
On the other hand, I don't like Fred nearly as much as I used to, and I'm also less fond of Anya and Glory (and even less fond of Riley, who I didn't even like much in the first place).

I used to hate Buffy (too much bashing in fanfiction is the main reason), but now she's my favorite female character.
I used to love Willow, now I'm not that interested in her character. I'm not into witches and magic in general, so the point of Willow's character doesn't attract me and that's why I don't enjoy her.
I used to hate Connor so much, now I find his character facinating.
I used to worship Dark!Wesley, now I find him boring, and I enjoy dorky!Wesley more.

Willow. I liked her in the early seasons but towards the latter seasons she changed for the worst.
Anya. I liked her until season 6. I felt sorry for her but I hated that she chose to become a demon again after Xander left. I just thought it was a disappointing character choice, I thought she had grown more than that. Also the stuff she says to Buffy when they tell her to leave her house in season 7 just really pissed me off. Buffy may have not chose to be a slayer, and got "lucky" but she did the best she could with it, Anya chose to become a demon to torture and kill probably hundreds of people who had nothing to do with her own heartbreak, they just fit the right gender. Buffy should have punched her in the face. 😀
Fred. She started off as such a sweet character but sadly got involved in the love triangle storyline and I just got pretty bored with her.
Wesley. I think they took "Dark Wesley" too far. The change in appearance, speech, even body language seemed comical to me at times to me. Yeah we get it, you're a bad ass now.
Those who changed for the good.
Connor. I liked his story arc, and I felt his whiny, mood swings were pretty justified. Has the potential to become a great hero.
Tara. I found her sweet but not very interesting starting out. But she really was a bright light in the darkness of season 6. All the characters changed a lot in season 6, but Tara was certainly for the best.

The two characters that fell so far:
Spike - He was my favourite, or at least one of my favourite characters when he was first on the show. He started to annoy me a little post-Out Of My Mind, but I still loved him. Then S6 hit, and I hated his stupid, manipulative, whiny, creepy, mass-murdering guts. In S7 I just didn't care about him.
Buffy - I really loved her in S1-5. She annoyed me severely in S6, her wangst really drove me up the wall after a while, and at times she was so whiny and petulant that she made Dawn look mature. I still didn't hate her though. But then she took a turn for the (even) worse in S7, and became a domineering, self-centred bitca. The worst part is that it's started to colour my views of S1-5 Buffy as well, which is sad. I've started to notice that many of the qualities I disliked in S7 Buffy - overidentifying to somebody else's situation to the point of making it all about her, insisting that everyone else must follow her instructions with no argument, prioritising her creepy vampire boyfriend over everyone else and becoming blinkered - were present the whole time, they were just less noticable, and accompanied with warmth, heroism and wit, which S7 Buffy lacked.
On the other hand...
Wesley - Written purposefully for the audience to dislike in S3 of Buffy, but redeemed himself greatly in AtS. As we all know.

I used to hate Harmony in seasons 1 & 2 of Buffy but now I am a huge Harmony fan. I just love her!!! I also have a love/hate relationship with Xander. Sometimes he annoys me but at the end of the day, I love him because of his friendship with Buffy & Willow. Wesley annoyed me so much when he first appeared in season 3 of Buffy but he of course grew on me big time. That's all I can think of for now!!

Anya and Tara were characters i didn't love as was Cordelia in the old days. I always loved the core 4 that being Buffy, Xander, Willow and Giles. Also basicially instantly liked Angel and Spike. After watching season 4 recently Riley i think gets unfair criticism. Ok so he wasn't a fantastic character like Buffy's other loves but the story dynamic they had i thought was interesting.
Anya and Tara on the other hand well nothing they did really interested me. Although i did start to warm to Anya in s7.

Harmony I have found annoying always. I dont dislike anyone in the scoobies. I loved spike since the second i saw him. I think the only characters I have ever really just plain been annoyed by are Harmony, and sometimes Dawn when she first started, but she got better.

I used to hate Wesley with a passion when he was in Buffy. later on when I started watching Angel and he came along I grew to love him!

Joyce: Couldn't stand her in the early seasons but grew to love her and cherish every moment til season 5.

Same here, I didn't like Buffy then either. Although back when I first watched the show, I never really liked Buffy at all, I thought she was stubborn and whiny and childish (and I was like 7 or 8 at the time myself 😛). But now that I've been watching the series again, I like her a lot. Which makes the whole process much less painful!
I also like Spike this time around, too, or up to now I do, I just started season 6 again. I always hated him when I was a kid, but now he might just be my favourite character. Which is so odd to me xD But he's so funny and enjoyable to watch.
As for people I liked and now DON'T, I think Xander. Kind of. A lot of the time I don't have a problem with him, but starting in Dead Man's Party, I think, he just makes me >=( sometimes. Pretty much all of season 3 I can't stand him. And in Dead Man's Party I was so irritated at that stupid zombie for jumping in the room at the worst time cause I wanted to see Buffy kick Xander's ass. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT =D

Everytime I watch the series and I get to season 5 when Dawn is introduced, I still can't stand her. -BUT- by season 7 she is tolerable, and sometimes not too whiny and likeable.
I used to hate Buffy but now I kind of like her... Not in the early days, I still hate her there, but around season 5 I started to like her.
Xander... the first time I watched the show I didn´t dislike him.. but now I just can´t stand it... he´s so meh.
I used to like Cordelia when she was sassy, but holier she got, hated she is.

I never really dramatically changed my opinion on any character.
However, I didn't like Riley that much at first because at the time he came into the show, I hadn't watched Ats and was still a Bangel. Then I watched Ats and became invested in it, so I no longer cared about Buffy and Angel being a couple and when Riley said that Buffy didn't love him, I fell in love with him because at the time I was going through something similar, so hence the Riley love.
The rest, I haven't really changed my opinion on.
