Cookie Dough & Others: A BB Cooking Book

I sort of made up this recipe by accident (well, I was just tryig to get rid of some old food) which I really like now. It's very easy. Dice an onion, fry it together with a package of ham blocks (no idea how much is in one of those boxes...I assume about 150g), dice a yellow paprika and chop a bunch of cherry tomatoes in half and put them into your pan with the onion and the ham. Just let the stuff cook/fry in the pan for some time (I don't really keep to a certain time, it's more about how done it looks). Then I usually add some woksauce, ketchuo, vinegar (the dark one), Worcester Sauce, salt and pepper and it's done 😀 I eat it just like that, but I bet it would also taste nice together with noodles or possibly potatoes 🙂

I have a recipe for Pizza Casserole.

Ingredients:

16 oz. box of Elbow Macaroni (or any type of Pasta, just not spaghetti noodles)- cooked and drained
2 jars of pizza sauce
1 lb. sausage (browned and drained)
2 bags (2 cup size) of shredded mozzarella cheese

Stir pizza sauce into cooked sausage. Set to the side. Take baking dish and coat with non stick spray. Take half of cooked pasta and spread into pan. Take half of sausage/pizza sauce mix and pour over pasta. Sprinkle one bag of mozzarella cheese over sauce. Repeat another layer.

Cook at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, till cheese melts.

Serve with french bread and salad.

My sons love this and I normally have to double recipe because of our family size and make 2.

I have a nice recipe for a pizza baguette

Need:
Ketchup
Basic tomato sauce
Oregano
Basil
Cheese
(and whatever you wanna add like ham/salami stuff or do it veggie whatever)
Baguettes
(salt and pepper if you like)

If you baked the baguettes or have fresh ones (even better)
put a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom and add just a little ketcup to make it sweeter
Oregano, basil how you want it. (maybe salt and pepper)
Some cheese and whatever you wanna add.
Bake it like 10 min and you got a delicious pizza baguette
Easy and quick!

Pleskner (Small cakes)😀

You need :
1 Egg
60g Sugar
60g flour
½ a teaspoon of vanilla
1 oven

Mix the egg and sugar first untill it looks like a yellow substance. Add flour and vanilla and mix. Turn your oven on 225C. Take a spook and but a spoonful of the dough on a plate (Should be about 6 spoonfulls.) Now insert plate into the oven, and wait for 6 minutes. Check if the small cakes are yellow with a little brown edge. Turn off the oven and let the cakes cool a little. Voila. Small cakes just in time for coffee or tea 😀

If you want to, you can put raisins or chunks of chocolate into the dough.

Spook? ;) I'm mainly commenting because you need rep, and this will drive you insane. ;)
Since the peeps are curious....

Chocolate MUG cake

4 tablespoons self raising flour (or 3 and bit of plain flour and some sort of rising agent like baking powder)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
A few drops of vanilla essence or extract if you have any

A decent sized mug
A microwave

Add dry ingredients to the mug and mix well.

Crack an egg and add it to your mug. Be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour in the corners.

Pour in the milk and oil and vanilla essence and mix well,

Pop your mug into the microwave and zap for 3-4 minutes on maximum power. It's a good idea to have a plate underneath the mug just in case there is any spillage.

If necessary, run a knife around the sides of the mug and tip the still warm cake out of the mug and onto a saucer

And done! 😀

*just as a tip, I've made it without using eggs before as well, you just need to add a little extra oil instead.

Oh wow... I'm very intrigued to give this a try, thanks :)
So I got a little creative the other day and made some muffins that turned out really well. They weren't difficult and I managed to make them with just what I had around the house. I did the dishes when they were baking too, which was a big help! The link to the original recipie is below, I tweaked it a little bit to match my own tastes 🙂

Banana Chocolate-Chip (With Oats!) Muffins

Ingredients:

1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 + 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 dash of salt and ginger
about 3-5 dashes of cinnamon and nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter (soft)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 ripe bananas, smashed up
1 egg
2 tablespoons cooking oil, I used canola
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips
and some extra brown sugar to sprinkle on top

***(the chocolate chips could be substituted for nuts if you would rather)***

How to Make 'Em!

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F)

2. In a large bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients (listed in the first paragraph, above).

3. In a smaller bowl, blend together your butter and brown sugar until they're thoroughly mixed. Then, beat in the bananas, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix until blended together.

4. Mix your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients gradually, until you have a nice moist batter to work with. Then, add in your chocolate chips (or walnuts or whatever you'd like to have in your muffins).

5. Spoon your batter into lined muffin tins, about 3/4 full. Then sprinkle your muffins with a little bit of brown sugar on top (emphasis on little!).

6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes (or until a toothpick/knife comes out clean of batter). Once they're baked just let them cool for about 5 minutes and you're done! Enjoy! :yay:

Ok, now I NEED to make banana bread or muffins tomorrow!
I made a cake today. 😀 But don't expect me to remember how I did it. (sw)

I made a cake today. 😀
Which had looked like this unless you have insisted of turning it over (again). 😉

DSCN0371.jpg

But don't expect me to remember how I did it. (sw)

I do. Sponge cake can be made in many different ways and it can even tell you different times on how long to have it in the oven. But we just used:

Butter
Dried breadcrumbs (? Especially for baking)
2 eggs
2 dl sugar
3 dl wheat flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1,5 dl water

* Grease up a baking tin and cover it with the breadcrumbs
* Mix the egg and sugar
* Add the flour, baking powder and water and mix again
* Pour the mix in the baking tin and put it in the oven for about 30 minutes on 175 degrees celsius.
* Take it out and turn it over and let it cool down a bit.
* Done. Litterally a piece of cake. 😀

And this is the simpliest of sponge cakes. I bet there's at least 10 different recipes for a "simple" sponge cake. 😛 For some different recipes you check here Sponge Cake Recipes Sponge Cake Recipe Sponge cake But my guess you can find a recipe in a cook book (or just google it 😉). It does in Sweden. At least if it includes cakes and/or cookies. Well duh!

Strawberry/Summer Fruit and Lemon Tart.

250g digestive biscuits
110g butter
250g marscepone
175g lemon curd
Strawberries/other fruit, enough to cover the top. Aprox 500g fruit.

tart_385x185_563084a.jpg

(Image from Times Online, where I got the original recipe)

- Crush the biscuits in a food processor (or put them in a ziplock bag and bash with a rolling pin).
- Melt the butter on the hob. Once melted, stir in crushed biscuits.
- Make a base out of the butter/biscuit mixture aprox. 1-2cm deep, and then refrigerate for at least 45 minutes (or pop in the freezer for 15, and then leave it in the fridge).
- Spoon the lemon curd into a bowl. [You may want to mix it/make it smoother before you add the marscepone to get rid of lumps.]
- Add the marscepone.
- Mix until smooth.
- Spoon on top of the now set biscuit base.
- Chop strawberries/fruit and layer on top to taste.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Yummy! As soon as I get an oven I'll try this!
I made up the recipe for dinner last night and figured I'd pass it on. I guess it's sausage-pasta casserole, but whatever. This recipe feeds 2.

Ingredients
2 cups (dry) penne
2 sausage links (I used Johnsonville smoked bratwurst)
2 cups spaghetti sauce
Parmesan cheese
Garlic, oregano, basil, pepper, etc--to taste

Directions
Chop sausage into thin wafers and brown over medium heat. Boil penne until JUST soft. Grease an 8x8 glass baking pan and spoon in a very thin layer of spaghetti sauce. Drain and rinse sausage, then spread evenly over sauce. Drain penne, then spread evenly over sausage. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over the penne, spreading it as evenly as possible. Sprinkle spices over the sauce. Cover with foil and bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle parmesan over the top and let stand for 5 minutes.

Enjoy!

Happy B-Day :)
prolly the best thing that I make is an italian chicken. You just take any ole chicken breast and pop it in the oven smothered in oregano, garlic and butter. If it's frozen wait till it thaws so that you can slice it open and stuff it full of cheese. Then add in some green peppers and onions and let it bake for a bit, pull it out, have a nice glass of wine and go to town.....I'm hungry now....

I am just now getting into cooking. I never liked it much. Latley though I have been interested in it. My favorite type is mexican or japenease(sp), I am a sucker for both 🙂

What's On Your Plate?

So I know we have a lot of people here from all over the world. 🙂 I love trying new foods, so I thought it would be cool to start a recipe-sharing thread. I looked and didn't see one like this on here yet, so here we go:

Cherry Yum Yum

You Will Need
2 cans cherry pie filling (3 if you want a LOT of cherries, like me 😀 )
2 pkgs cream cheese, softened
2 pkgs Readi-Whip mix
1/2 cup milk
sugar
vanilla
4 cups crushed graham crackers or graham cracker crumbs
2 cups butter

Equipment
large mixing bowl
spoon
electric mixer
measuring cups
large Pyrex dish

1. In a bowl melt the butter in a microwave.
2. Cover the bottom of the dish with the graham crackers or graham cracker crumbs. Add the butter and work in to form the crust. (If there are holes, you can add more butter and graham crackers til you get it just right.)
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, Readi Whip mix and milk. Blend until creamy. (If the mixture is too thick, add milk a little at a time until you get it to the right consistency. You don't want it to be too runny, though, so add milk in small increments!)
4. Once the mixture is the desired consistency, add vanilla and sugar little by little and blend until you get it as sweet as you want it.
5. Spread the cherry pie filling over the top of the dish and chill overnight. Serves 8-10.
