Dawn poured an equal amount of bubbly champagne into each glass. She watched the bubbles rise for a moment. Dawn had always loved bubbles, ever since she was a child. She could remember how much she loved the bubble baths her mother or Buffy used to make for her when she was only a little kid. Except the funny thing was - they hadn't. Dawn had only really been created a few years ago. She was only really just over 3 years old. She had been created 3 years ago, not 18, like she and everyone around her had remembered. Dawn was once a ball of energy known as the Key. She was supposed to open the gates to all of the dimensions. When Glory threatened to do so, the monks turned the Key in Dawn, the sister of the Slayer. The monks had to be sure that the slayer would protect the key with her life, and they knew Buffy would do so if she had a sister. The memories built for everybody were only really lies, but Dawn did not much care anymore, she had accepted her passed and she lived like a normal person nowadays "“ regardless of the passed.
"Champagne?" asked Dawn, holding out a tray with four glasses of champagne on it.
"Vino? Non." replied a man, turning his nose up.
His partner looked Dawn up and down and turned away.
Dawn turned away, rolling her eyes. "Why do I even bother?" she quietly asked herself.
Dawn was a waiter to the upper class of Rome in a local art gallery. She had become sick of her job and being treated inferior to everybody else, not only because of her age but because she was American. She often wondered what the customers of the gallery would do if they ever saw a demon, or a vampire and she had come to the conclusion that most of them would just run.
There was an upside to Dawn's job: her boss Frank. Frank was Italian but he could speak full English. He had a special spot for Dawn and he favoured her over most of the other employees.
"I'm off." Dawn told Frank. "It's six o'clock."
"Sure Dawn, thanks for your help today," he replied with a smile, "ciao!"
Dawn picked up her coat and put it on. It was cold and raining outside, and Dawn had parked a full block away.
"Great." she said to herself sarcastically as she looked outside.

******

Appartment 3 was Buffy's and Dawn's. Dawn put her key into the lock and opened the door. She placed her dripping coat on the hanger.
"Dawnie!" yelled out Buffy, "Is that you?"
Dawn walked into the open kitchen and lounge area and saw Buffy behind the counter, cooking.
"Hey Buffy" she said as she collapsed into the couch, her feet were killing her. She slipped off her shoes and twiddled out her toes. It felt so good to be out of those heals.
"Got a bit wet did ya?" asked Buffy, noticing Dawn's saturated hair and outfit.
"Just a bit," replied Dawn, switching on the T.V.
"˜On Your Own' was on, it used to be one of Dawn's favourite soapies, but she had gotten a little over it in the passed two years, especially since it had gone off the air in 2000 and every episode was now a re-run. Dawn quickly lost interest in the T.V. show and turned to Buffy.
"So, watcha cooking?" she asked.
"Carbonara," replied Buffy "it should be ready in 10 I expected you home later."
"It's okay," Dawn said, "Frank let me leave at six today."
Buffy stirred the sauce she was making. "Dawnie do you mind setting the table?" she asked.
"Sure," groaned Dawn as she slowly stood up. "So Buffy," she began, "can I go out tonight?"
Buffy hesitated for a moment. The protective slayer side of her wanted to say no, but the side that promised Dawn she'd lay off the nagging a little wanted to say yes.
"Uhhh"¦ Yeah okay," Buffy finally decided, "home by two though."
"On the dot." replied Dawn, relieved that her sister had said yes.
"So, what's on tonight?" asked Buffy.
"Oh just a few friends from Uni and I are gonna go to a new club." Dawn replied.
She was studying law at The University of Rome.
"Do you want to come Buffy?" shed asked. Dawn had noticed Buffy hadn't really made many friends in Rome. Last year she had been in a relationship with "˜The Immortal' but Dawn had never liked him, especially when he cheated on Buffy. It left her a little scar in relationships "“ any scar she didn't already have that is. Buffy had never had much luck with love, but she knew something would work out one day. Her dear friends lived all across the world. Every time they saw each other they promised to catch up soon but it never really ended up happening "“ unless the world was ending. Things had been a lot simpler for Buffy in Sunnydale.
As much as Buffy did want to go out sometimes, she didn't want to impose on Dawn, "Actuall'm kinda busy tonight," replied Buffy, "I've got a tonne of work."
Buffy was also a student at university, she was studying to be a psychiatrist.
"Okay but if you change your mind, you can come." replied Dawn as they sat down to eat.

Well, i gotta say i like this start.
As you are using my character progession as a starting point i'm gonna hold my tongue if i have more comments(other then the ones from last night on MSN) but i like Buffy and Dawn here, can't wait for more🙂

Nice touch on the Immortal cheating on Buffy. Can't let Buffy have a relationship with a mutual break, normal breakup can we it just wouldn't be dramatic, lol.

lol i'd actually though the same thing... First I had written they broke up but then I thought nah lets give Buffy some more emotional torment lol.
Buffy walked slowly through the grave yard. Everything inside was upsetting her. She wished that for even only a moment her friends could be with her. More than anything though, she wished Giles was with her. She knew though, that that could never happen. Even though Buffy had known of Giles' plan to sacrifice him self to save the world, she had never really wanted to be on board. Buffy knew that it was necessary though at the time, the world had depended on it. Nowadays though, Buffy missed him more than ever. At least in all those years they'd spent apart before she still knew he was ok, and she knew that if she would just pick up the phone and dial his number, she could talk to him"¦ but now, she never could again.
"Don't think about Giles," Buffy said aloud, "Angel saw him in heaven and he was okay."
Suddenly, Buffy felt a punch connect with the back of her head. It hurt a lot and sent her to the floor.
Buffy stood up and turned around to see a vampire.
"What the hell was that for?" she asked, pretty pissed off, rubbing the back of her head.
"Uh"¦ vampire and slayer here." replied the vampire, reminding Buffy of her calling. She sometimes forgot, Rome wasn't on a hell mouth after all.
"Oh yeah," Buffy said, taking out her stake, "It must have slipped my mind."
The vampire stepped up onto a tombstone so he was at least three feet taller than the slayer. He gathered up some might and jumped at her. If she had stood still, he would have just clipped her, but she moved and he missed her all together.
Buffy looked down at him where he lay on the floor.
"Oh please," she began, "that was so lame."
Buffy quickly rammed her stake right into his upper back and watched the vampire explode into dust.
"They just don't have that flare here," Buffy began, "at least in Sunnydale they didn't have a belly full pasta holding them down."
Buffy then started thinking about her passed again. She remembered everything she and her friends had done. She missed them so much that it made her miserable. Last year Buffy had seen Giles a lot more than the years previously, as they were only a few hours away on the plane. Giles had always been a father to Buffy. Every time she needed anything he was there to help and Buffy couldn't deal with his death. She began to cry.
In a fit of emotions she began punching into a tombstone.
"GILES!" she yelled, "Please Giles come back, please!"
Her hand had become bloody as she smashed the tombstone to bits.
"Please." she begged to herself as she calmed down and fell into the ground, crying.

Dawn had been sitting on the couch waiting for Mia for at least half an hour. She had told Mia to be ready by nine thirty, but it was now passed ten.
"Mia!" Dawn finally yelled, "Come out your hair looks fine!"
Dawn heard a lot of crashing and bashing in the other room. She knew that it would still be a while before they were going anywhere, so she spent some time to look around Mia's apartment. The carpet was a blue colour, and the walls were cream. The furniture was all just of different décor, nothing really matched anything else, but she came to the conclusion that the apartment itself had potential.
Dawn decided to make a stand. She stood up and made her way down the corridor, with each room she looked into she decided to take back the "˜potential' comment, this place was too far gone.
"Mia, what is taking you so long?" she asked as she was about to enter the bath room.
Mia turned off the light and closed the door, "I'm fat!" she yelled out.
Dawn was so sick of hearing this; she opened the door and actually rolled her eyes in Mia's face.
"You're not fat, you're beautiful."
After about another fifteen minutes of convincing Mia she wasn't fat and ugly and watching her change her outfit another three times, the girls finally left.

The club was supposed to be a jungle theme, but it was more like an empty room with a few pot plants around. Dawn didn't care though, she hadn't been out all week, she'd worked and it was Friday night. She decided she was going to enjoy herself no matter what, and she was finally starting to. Dawn liked the music they played; it was a mix of commercial and some not so commercial R&B. She could really get her dance on to this stuff. Dawn was dancing with Mia and some friends from school in a circle.
Suddenly, the room turned a bright yellow. Dawn saw a woman flash in front of her, but then she was gone. Everything turned back to normal.
Dawn fell forward a little, but two of her friends caught her.
"Dawn are you ok?" one of them asked. Everybody was staring.
Dawn looked up to her friend and smiled, then wiped her eyes.
"I'm fine," she said as she stood up, "I just need to"¦"
Dawn dropped to the floor and began screaming. The room flashed from yellow to black and Dawn once again saw the same woman. She now saw an alley way with a sign saying Riccili Way. The pain in her head was excruciating. She tried to stand, but then fell back to the floor and the pain intensified, leaving her paralyzed. Dawn now saw a demon standing over the woman in the alley. The woman began to scream as the demon closed in on her. It was big and green and it had slime dripping from its hair. Then, Dawn saw another woman, sitting at a desk, but she didn't seem to be in danger. She then spoke, "Maddison Spiritual Serivce, Anna speaking."
Suddenly, everything stopped.
Dawn looked back up at her friends. Everybody was staring. People had thought she was having a fit from what she could hear. "Probably a junkie," she heard someone say in Italian.
"Dawn, did you take anything?" Mia asked her.
Dawn looked at her friend; she had no time to explain. She wasn't exactly sure what had happened to her but she had a rough idea. It had only happened once before when Dawn had had a vision of Buffy's death.
"That girl is going to die.she said to herself.
"What?" asked one of her friends.
"I can't stay here," Dawn began, "I have to go."
As quick as she could, Dawn left the club. If she didn't get to this girl soon, she'd wind up dead.

******

As she walked out, Dawn's head began to fill up with questions. Why her? She wondered. She knew she had powers, but visions? That vision hurt had her; she didn't want this to become a common occurrence.
"Okay, thinking straight now" she said to herself, "what do I do in a situation like this?"
She thought hard for a moment. I'm weaponless, I guess I'd better call Buffy. Dawn reached into her bag and took out her cell phone. She scrolled down to Buffy's number and pressed call. The phone rang, but nobody answered. Dawn tried again, but again no one answered. She decided to leave a message telling Buffy what was happening.
"Buffy," she began, "something happened to me at the club, I had a vision. There's a girl going to get attacked by a demon on um"¦" Dawn looked at the name of the street she'd written on her arm, "Riccili Way. Please come quick."
Dawn didn't have enough time to wait for Buffy because someone's life was at stake. She knew that she was powerful and she could handle herself. She walked across to the tourist map on the other side of the road. "Thank god for this map being right here." she said to herself. Riccili Way wasn't far from her house. Without really thinking of too many consequences, she headed off quickly.

******
"Okay Dawn," she said to herself, "you better not be too late." Dawn was rushing up the street, but she couldn't find a thing. Everyone had their blinds closed and everything looked fine. Dawn wondered if she hadn't come to the right address, but the street sign clearly stated that she was on the right street. The street lights lit up most of the street and the lights from shops lit up the rest so there wasn't any way that she couldn't have seen the girl if she was really on Riccili Way.
Dawn stood still and listened. There was nothing. Then suddenly, as she began to walk again, she heard a woman scream. Her heart began racing. She'd known that there was going to be a woman in trouble but she was still startled when it actually happened. She had no idea what to do. Dawn wasn't the slayer, but she did have her own fair share of powers. So far she'd learnt that she could control demons, but there were apparently other powers inside her she didn't know of, let a lone how to use them. It didn't matter right now, she was sure she could control the demon from her vision, but just incase something went wrong, she ripped up a piece of metal which had been stuck in the soil of someone's garden. "Cool." she commented as she noticed that the metal piece had a sharp end, "Perfect for stabbing."
Quickly, she ran to the side alley of a shop, where she'd heard the screaming coming from. Her heels she'd been wearing at the club were slowing her down, so she kicked them off. The slimy haired, green demon Dawn had seen in her vision stood over a young woman as she wept in fear. She had been backed into the fence.
"Hey you," Dawn yelled out, "get away from her."
The demon turned around to see Dawn holding the weapon she'd just found.
"Move away!" she yelled commandingly, trying to evoke her powers and control the demon. Nothing happened. "I said move away!" she yelled. Again, nothing happened.
"Damn," she said to herself.
"Beat it girly, one Barbie is enough for me!" the demon yelled.
The hostage woman fell to the floor in fear and began to cry. Dawn looked around to see what exactly she had going for her as far as makeshift weapons, but there weren't really any she could use.
"I'm not a Barbie!" Dawn yelled back, "I'm trained with this, I'll kill you!"
The demon began to laugh sinisterly. "Trained with a metal scrap?" he asked sarcastically.
"I don't think I want to eat her anymore," he began, pointing at the hostage who'd now risen. "I wanna eat you!" he yelled.
Suddenly, the hostage ran passed the both of them, escaping from the alley and screaming as she ran.
"Not even a thank you?" Dawn said, shocked, after the woman had disappeared.
The demon began to close in on Dawn. She looked down at her weapon. She had a plan, although she'd probably end up dead before she could use it.
"Please don't hurt me," she began, "I'll do anything!"
"Anything?" he asked, suggestively.
"Ew!" she replied, disgusted.
"Then I'll kill you!" he yelled, angrily.
"NO!" she yelled as he began to move closer. Suddenly, as he set him arms forward to grab her and went left himself unguarded, Dawn quickly raised the sharp piece of metal right through the underneath of his chin. He screamed loudly and tried to stop her. She gathered all her might and pushed it in further, piercing the demon's brain. He then fell to the floor, dead.
Dawn fell backwards onto the wall, where she leant for a few minutes to catch her breath. Everything had happened so quickly, but she was grateful to have lived through it. She wondered why her powers hadn't worked, and also how she'd just killed a big green demon. She came to the conclusion that she had been lucky to find a demon so stupid that it would fall for her plan. Slowly, she began to walk home, picking up her shoes on the way.

This is my second part today so it's your treat coz I haven't written for a while so get reading!!!

:read:

Here goes, thought Dawn as she opened up her door. She silently took off her shoes and snuck down the corridor, trying not to be heard by Buffy.
"Oh god it's ok she's home!" yelled Buffy, from behind Dawn. She switched on the light. She was holding the telephone. She then pressed the hang-up button.
Dawn turned to her sister and smiled, but then quickly stopped when she saw Buffy's face, "Dawn Cathryn Summers I want an explanation now!"
Dawn rolled her eyes, "You sound like mom."
"If mom was here she'd kill you!" yelled Buffy. Her face was red and Dawn could see she was absolutely irate. "I went looking for you! I called the police! You don't just leave a damn message on my cell like that! You better not have gone to fight that demon!" she yelled profusely.
Dawns looked to the floor. She was trying to hide herself blushing.
"You did! Dawn you could have been killed! How dare you after everything we've been through!"
Dawn looked up at Buffy. It was time for her to stand up. "Shut up Buffy!" she yelled. "Someone was going to die! You can't protect me from death Buffy; I needed to save that woman! I had a vision of her in danger! I'm a lot more powerful than you nowadays, I'm all powerful remember? I can do things myself!"
Buffy was becoming angrier and angrier by what Dawn was saying to her. She had had enough. "Oh you think you're powerful?" asked Buffy, resting her hands on her hips, "that cut on your arm can do things itself can it?" she asked sarcastically, but still very angrily. Dawn had never seen Buffy like this. "Dawn, for once be realistic! Your powers control you, not the other way; you can't even do anything to use them!"
Dawn glared at Buffy. What she'd just been told was true, but she didn't want to hear it. Dawn had never been powerful but had always longed to be, and then all of a sudden she was one of the most powerful forces in her plain of existence, it had been a lot to take in. The fact that her powers didn't work though, that was torture, having that much power and not being able to use it. But being reminded of it, especially by Buffy - was worse.
"You'll see," Dawn said, as she turned around and walked into her bedroom, slamming the door. She fell into the bed and began to cry. She wanted more than anything to prove herself to Buffy.
Buffy stood, in the corridor. She knew that she shouldn't have said what she had, but she was angry. She made her way to couch and poured herself a glass of scotch whiskey. It had been a long day and Buffy had developed a taste for scotch in the last year. She sipped it slowly and reached out for the phone. She dialed Xander's number. Xander was currently living in Africa, he owned his own building business and they were currently building schools across the South African region. It was about eleven in the morning there. The phone rang for a while, and finally he answered it.
"Hello." he said.
"Hey Xand, it's Buffy."
There was a slight delay, it always happened when they spoke on the phone, which was probably about once a week.
"Buff!" he yelled excitedly, "how's my Mediterranean slayer going?"
"Oh I've been better," she began, "me and Dawn had a fight."
"Is she breathing?" he asked jokingly, trying to lighten the mood.
Buffy chuckled, "Not that kind of fight. But I'm telling you if looks could kill"¦"
"You'd be dead." stated Xander chuckling a little and also finishing Buffy sentence. "So what went wrong?"
"She went to fight a demon, alone! She says she had some sort of vision and it directed her to this demon. She saved a girl, but it's not the point she could have been killed! She's too careless Xander!"
"Wow, but Buff, out of all that what did she do wrong? She's a Summers girl so she couldn't just let that girl die. You should be proud of her for being so brave." Xander stated.
Buffy thought for a second. What Xander was saying was true. Buffy would have done the same thing at Dawn's age, even before.
"Okay," she began, "I agree she did the right thing, I just worry about her. I said some mean things though, we both did."
Xander was happy to hear his friend had calmed down. Even from the other side of the world he could make Buffy feel better.
"Look Buffy, you're sisters, of course you're gonna fight from time to time, everyone does. I think you guys just need to apologise to each other, and you need to try and let Dawn live a little more of her own life." Xander stated and Buffy knew it was true.
"I just hope that she doesn't end up dead, but I guess I'm a little overprotective. I'll apologise when she wakes up tomorrow." said Buffy.

******

Dawn was still lying on her bed in the dark, but she'd stopped crying. She was now staring out the window. The lights of the city looked really pretty at night. She would often spend a lot of time looking at them from her bed. Tonight was different though, she was depressed. Her mascara had run when she'd been crying, staining her cheeks. Everything was silent. She hated Buffy at the moment. Tonight she had done something so noble, and her own sister had not even supported her, instead Buffy had been responsible for putting her into this despair. Dawn's eyes began to slowly close, and a yellow light flashed, but she thought she was dreaming.
Suddenly, she was lying on the floor, yelling. The yellow light flashed again and Dawn saw a woman behind a desk. Her long brown hair draped down over her shoulders, she wore a white shirt which had a name tag pinned on it. The name clearly read "Anna". It was one of the same women she'd seen earlier in her previous vision. Dawn had forgottenll about her after she'd saved the first woman.
She opened her eyes and stood up. "Maddison Spiritual Serivce, Anna speaking." she said aloud. This girl must've been in urgent trouble. Dawn had had two visions in the same night, both featuring the same woman.
"What the hell? That girl is in New York."

its good, some bits of Dawn dialogue are a little on the non-american side, but otherwise good story, nice flow.

Good work eunsoma. Especially that Dawn seems to have the "visions"

I use the term loosley as they may be in a different league to the ones in Angel.Loving it so far.

Dawn stood in her room, thinking about what decision to make. If these visions were going to send Dawn across the globe every time there was someone being attacked by a demon there was no way she could deal with them. Something inside of her though, begged her to leave to New York. It was telling her that this was bigger than most of the things she'd ever been against and that the lives of millions were at stake.
Maybe I should go, she thought. When Dawn had had the vision of Buffy being killed, it led her to Los Angeles, and she was able to help in saving man kind. It was necessary for her to leave, she knew it. Dawn began to pack a bag. She emptied most of her wardrobe into a suitcase and got all of her make up and weapons into another.

*******

The airport was noisy, even at this time of night. All around Dawn were people speaking in all sorts of languages, mostly Italian, which Dawn could only partially understand. She'd been standing in this line for at least twenty minutes and it was almost her turn to be served. Dawn had always loved airports. When she was a child, her mother and Buffy used to take her to go watch the planes taking off. Dawn noticed another little girl with her mother and sister watching the planes take off across the room, she smiled. Everything was simpler back then.
"Uh miss? How can I help you?" spoke the woman behind the desk.
Dawn broke from her daze. "Sorry. I'm looking for the next flight to flight to New York. When is it?"
The woman checked her computer for the answer. "New York City?" asked the woman.
"Yeah, New York City, when's the next flight?" Dawn asked again.
"It's at 01.27hours." the woman said with a smile.
Dawn looked at her watch; the flight was just under an hour away. "Okay," she began, "I'll take it."
"Is that one way or return miss?" asked the attendant.
Dawn thought for a second. She didn't know when she'd be back, and after what Buffy had said she thought that it'd be good for them to spend some time apart. Dawn also wanted to explore into her powers on her own.
"One way." she said.
"Okay," spoke the woman and she typed something, "take your passport to the man over there and he'll get you sorted out."
Dawn stood back for a moment and waited for her ticket. "Thanks," she said as she took it from the woman.
Dawn often thanked god most of the people she'd met in Italy knew how to speak English. After living in Rome for over a year Dawn still didn't know very much of the language, she hadn't really bothered to learn. She had almost an hour up her sleeve. Her only worry was getting her weapons on to the plane, which was going to be a struggle.

*******

Dawn opened her eyes slowly. The plane was silent. She could only hear the soft noise of the engines. She looked at her watch; it was passed five o'clock. It'd be getting light soon. Only 24 hours ago, Dawn was pretty much normal. Things were running fine. Dawn had a normal job along with normal friends and she and her sister were happy. Now she was on a plane following a vision of a girl in trouble to Manhattan, her sister had no idea.
"Only a few more hours"¦" Dawn said to herself as she sunk into her seat again and closed her eyes.
Glancing around, she saw people now standing up. Dawn rubbed her eyes and stood, collecting her handbag off the floor and putting it over her shoulder. Slowly, she walked off the plane. The airport was huge, and the security was really tight. After the September eleven attacks, the USA had to have high security, especially in airports. Dawn remember the terrorist attacks, they were horrible. Buffy had been dead while they'd happened. So many people had been killed, and the worst thing was that she couldn't have been a part of saving anyone. Normally, Buffy could avert apocalypses and fight demons, but terrorism was something she couldn't fight.
After waiting for half an hour, an empty cab arrived. Dawn got in and greeted the driver.
"Hello Ma'am. Where are you heading today?" he asked.
Dawn hadn't heard a strong American accent for a long time. It felt refreshing to hear someone speak like an American.
Dawn knew that "˜Maddison Spiritual Service was on Twenty Fifth Street, so she decided to head there.
"On 25th," she began, "are there any motels?"
"Yeah, the whole area is full of "˜em, I'll take you to a real' nice one."
Dawn agreed and sat back in her seat, looking out the window as they began to drive. The city was huge. There were so many people; it looked a lot like what Dawn had seen of Manhattan on TV "“ busy.
When she arrived at the motel, Dawn looked down the corridor. The lights were flickering and there were cigarette butts all over the floorboards.
"Mmm"¦ classy." she commented sarcastically. "I thought this place was supposed to be nice!"
The rug at the end of the corridor was peeling up and the wallpaper was wearing away. Nothing matched at all.
Dawn was following the owner. He was fat and ugly and his singlet stuck to his skin. She could not help staring at his pimple covered back and shoulders. He made her shiver.
"Here's your room sugar," he said, "opening a room, "check out's at eleven tomorrow."
Dawn gave a fake smile, there was no way she could actually form a real one. This place was disgusting. The only reason she was going to stay there was because it was well in her budget.
Closing the door, she notic an aroma. "Great," she began, "cat pee." The floor boards in her room were rotting and the walls were covered in cracks. There was no way she wanted to be cooped up in that room all day, so she set out to chase up her vision.

Although she was staring at the door, she didn't want to enter. What was she going to say to this woman from her vision? Dawn was standing right out the front of Maddison Spiritual Service. While contemplating, she noticed the building two doors down the street. It had a sign out the front which clearly said Wolfram & Hart. On the outside it was a law firm, but behind the scenes it was evil. There was no-one inside by the looks of it and there were no cars in the lot. It had to be out of business. A few months ago, Dawn had been a part of defeating Wolfram & Hart in its purest form: the Senior Partners. Dawn had used her powers extensively that night, which had given her a sense of false hope in a way. She thought that from then on her powers would be with her always, but now she could barely use them. She'd come to the conclusion that a higher power must've wanted her to use them that one time, then stepped in and made it happen as it was to save man kind.
After she stopped staring at the building, she reached for the door and stepped in, getting back on track. The reception area was rather small, and it had flowers in vases everywhere. Behind the desk sat the same woman Dawn had pictured in her vision. She had long brown hair flowing down over her turquoise shirt. She wore reading glasses. Most importantly, she looked perfectly normal. Obviously Dawn wasn't too late because it didn't look like anything had happened to the woman yet. She looked up and smiled.
Dawn just stared in amazement, which obviously made the woman uncomfortable.
"Can I uh"¦ help you?" she asked hesitantly.
Dawn stopped staring and looked around.
"Uh"¦ yeah, something happened." she began, "I'm gonna tell you this and just cut to the point now. My names Dawn, I have visions of people in danger, they've been supernatural so far."
Anna looked at Dawn, apparently not surprised. She probably dealt with the supernatural all the time in her line of work.
"Ok, I can't exactly help you. I'm a receptionist, if you take a seat though, someone will be with you in a short while."
Dawn rolled her eyes, she was getting frustrated. "Look that's not what I'm saying"¦"
Anna was getting upset. "Miss please, if you don't calm down you'll have to leave now."
Anna pointed to the door and signaled Dawn to leave,
"I'm not leaving!" she yelled. "In my last vision I saw you, you're going to die!" yelled Dawn, frantically.
Anna looked shocked; she dropped the pen she was holding. "Get out." She said bluntly.
Dawn wasn't getting anywhere with this woman. "I can't! I can't let you die, it's kinda my responsibility to save you now! Listen I'll prove it! I flew here from Rome to help you. Your name is Anna Ralska and you like yoghurt. You're twenty years old!" Nothing was working. It was just distressing Anna more that Dawn knew these facts. She rubbed her head and tried to think of a way to convince Anna to believe her.
Before she could, Anna yelled out "Security!"
A security guard ran in from the next room.
"Please, escort this woman out!" she yelled. "She's scaring me; she said I was going to die!"
Anna was now standing behind the guard, terrified.
"I'm leaving," began Dawn, "no need to escort me."
Dawn headed for the door and walked out, slamming it behind her angrily.

*******

Dawn sat on her bed. She'd really screwed up today. Around her room, she'd hung garlic everywhere and in her hand she was clutching a wooden cross. A vampire could enter her room at anytime because it was public accommodation. Although Dawn could take a vampire here and there, she didn't want to be visited by one, or worse "“ a pack of them.
There's nothing I can do now, she thought to herself. If Anna was going to push her away, she couldn't help her, she just needed to wait for her to come around.
Dawn sat for a few minutes contemplating on what to do next. As much as she wanted to surrender and get out of the rat-bag area she was in, she still had to save Anna "“ It was her job now. She had a calling. She picked up the stake from her bag and thought hard.
Finally, making a decision, she got up and headed for the door. She was going back to Maddison Spiritual Service, and this time she was going to do some good.

After Dawn had left the room, a buzzing started. The room flickered a pretty purple colour, and then intensified into a brigh flash. After the light disappeared, a woman appeared. It was too dark to see who she was. The buzzing stopped and the woman looked around the room, examining every detail.
"Homey." she commented sarcastically.

Dawn stood over Anna's desk. She was scrummaging through her personal notes and files. Since she'd found nothing, she switched on the computer to see if she could find anything. It had been really hard to find a way inside the office. Since the center was closed and the doors were locked, Dawn had to open the window with a screw driver she'd purchased at the tool shop up the road. It shocked her to think that she had actually broken into a place; it wasn't like she'd never done anything wrong "“ she used to steal all the time, but this was a lot bigger than any of that. She kept thinking to herself that she'd be sent to jail if she got caught.
Dawn clicked on a folder named "˜Anna.' This looks promising, she thought. She couldn't find anything except for invoices and a few songs by the Black Eyed Peas. Dawn then clicked on Anna's emails. If there was to be anything suss going on, maybe Anna would have something weird in an email. All Dawn could find were a few emails from what sounded like an ex-boyfriend. He was obviously a pain in the ass as there were so many messages begging Anna to get back together with him.
"It's a start," she said aloud, "maybe he's gonna do something about being rejected."
Suddenly, from the other room, flew a ball of light blue energy, slamming right into the computer and knocking it off the desk.
Dawn jumped, startled. She looked across to where it had come from. Right there stood a woman she'd met a few times "“ but she'd heard bad things about her from Willow. It was Amy Maddison.
"Amy?!" she yelled, "What are you doing here?"
Amy just chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "Dawn it's called "“ Maddison Spiritual Service, I own it."
"Oh," began Dawn, "well your receptionist is in trouble, she's going to die!"
Amy laughed again. "So you're the girl from today?" she asked, "heard there was quite a scene."
"Yeah, she didn't believe me. You have to help me save her Amy. I can't do it alone."
Amy rolled her eyes. They began to turn black, like Dawn had seen Willow's turn when Tara had been killed.
"I don't doubt that," began Amy, "it's not like you could do anything anyway."
Dawn began to speak, "but Amy I"¦" but she was cut off. Although Dawn wanted to continue talking, she couldn't. Nothing she was saying was coming out. It was like someone had turned her on mute. Then she looked at Amy staring at her with black eyes. "Be silent." she said, obviously she'd magickally muted Dawn.
Amy was getting angry, "You don't just come and break into somebody's place of employment."
Dawn struggled to speak, but couldn't.
"Don't try talking," began Amy, "it'll make your throat hurt."
Dawn still tried talking again, and began to get a sharp pain in the throat. She clutched at it, breathing heavily.
"As I was saying," muttered Amy, "I don't like any of you scoobies, and I can't think of a better way of getting at your sister then hurting her beloved "˜Dawnie'." She stepped closer to Dawn. They were now only a few metres apart.
Amy raised an arm. "Sorry," she began, "Inpiunte!" she yelled, eyes completely black now. A flash of energy shot out from Amy, heading straight for Dawn, very quickly.
Just before Dawn was devoured by the energy, it stopped, time stopped. A force field formed around Dawn and another woman. She was facing the other way, so Dawn wasn't exactly sure who she way. She wore grey jeans and a Gucci shirt. Dawn noticed the brand new Manolo Blahniks she wore, they were gorgeous.
The woman turned around, her shoulder length hair bounced around like she was starring in a shampoo commercial.
"Hey Dawn," she began, "you look"¦" she looked Dawn up and down, "freaking great!"
Dawn couldn't believe her eyes, firstly because she was just saved and secondly because Cordelia Chase had been her saviour. Cordelia was the woman who'd manifested in Dawn's motel room. She was an old friend of Buffy's and she and Dawn had always gotten along okay. A few years back she left Sunnydale to work with Angel, since then she'd died.
"Cordelia!" she yelled, stunned. "What just happened? How did you do that?"
Cordelia winked and smiled, "neat huh?" she asked.
Dawn just stared, "Yeah in the way that it totally saved my life! What is going on?!" she asked, clueless.
"Hey sweetie slow down," Cordelia began, "It's ok. And did I hear a "˜thank you'?" she asked, half joking.
Dawn took a deep breath, relaxing a little. "Thanks, really."
Cordelia began to talk again, "Dawn, I know what it seems like, but your visions are going to work out, your heading the right way."
"You know what just occurred to me," Dawn began, "You're dead. How are even here if you're dead?" she asked.
Cordelia smiled softly, "Honey when is dead ever really dead in this world? I'm dead but I'm still here. The powers chose me as your guide, for your visions."
"How do you or they even know about my visions?" Dawn asked.
Cordelia raised an eyebrow, "Dawn the visions come from the Powers That Be, you're supposed to help people with them."
Dawn put her hands on her hips, "Yeah," she began, "getting that now. But why you, how do you know about the visions?"
Cordelia giggled, "Dawnie honey, I gave "˜em to you."
Dawn's mouth dropped, this was all too much for her. "You what?" she asked.
"I passed them on to you, I used to have the visions." stated Cordy.
"Oh well thanks a lot!" Dawn said angrily, "These visions have turned my life upside down "“ ALREADY!"
"Dawn," Cordelia began, "You're the one who's destined to have them, I was just a carrier while you were getting ready for them I guess. You have all this power inside you, haven't you ever wondered what you're supposed to do with it?"
"I'm supposed to control demons," Dawn began, "And it's not like my powers even work."
Cordelia was a little annoyed by this comment. "Controlling demons isn't what you're supposed to do, what did you think, you'd use them as servants around the pool?" she asked sarcastically.
Dawn pictured the thought for a moment and giggled. "No," she began, "I guess I thought I'd use it in fights."
"Well consider the visions as a cause for you to fight." said Cordy, now smiling.
Dawn liked the thought of her being able to save people, but then something occurred to her. "I can't use them anyway, Buffy was right "“ my power controls me."
Cordy got a little annoyed by what Dawn was saying. "Well isn't that a Buffy thing to say." she said. "No offense honey, Buffy's a sweet girl, but Dawn, she wasn't right. I know she's your sister but you need to live your life now Dawn, it's your life to live "“ not Buffy's. I can promise you, if you take control of your life, your power will come in full."
Dawn looked to the floor, Cordelia was right, she knew it. "I know," she began, "so what's next then? What do I do?"
Cordelia gave a big smile. "Well I think you're ready," she said. Suddenly, Cordy disappeared and the force field protecting Dawn disappeared.
"Cordy!" yelled Dawn, "No!" Suddenly, a force of power flew through Dawn. It felt like every cell in her body was vibrating. Her skin began to glow.
"Stop!" she yelled, watching the energy about to hit her.
Suddenly, the energy closing in on Dawn (which was now only a few inches from her) stopped. Dawn stepped back and pushed out her hand, forcing Amy's power back at her.
âœWow." she said to herself as she still her felt complete power running through her veins, but it wasn't all being used. There was so much power; Dawn wanted to be able to use all of it. Her powers were actually working, what Cordy had said must've been right.
Amy screamed as the energy engulfed her, then it suddenly teleported her away.
Dawn stumbled a little when the power stopped surging through her. "That was cool."
She looked at where Amy had stood, "I'm not gonna have to worry about her anymore," she said aloud, "and if I do, I'll just trap her in a trophy like her mom." Dawn laughed to herself and escaped through her window. At least it was now over, she thought.
