Destiny- The life of Dawn Summers

thank you all for the comments. I know it really did look like I'd abandoned this fic, I just got too covered with things to do I've had a really busy few months. I am glad to say that i will be finishing this fic now, without anymore long breaks. Thank you all for not losing interest 🙂 enjoy..

Buffy and Dawn waited in the lift. It was taking a while.
“Hate for there to be an emergency,” said Buffy, “this lift is so frickin’ slow.” She looked at her watch, groaning.
“Uh Buffy, you don’t use lifts in an emergency,” replied Dawn, pointing to a sign which stated this information. She smiled, Buffy smiled back.
“You’re doing okay Dawn.” said Buffy. “I’m proud of you.”
“Thanks,” said Dawn, sincerely.
The sisters exchanged a moment of happiness and then the lift stopped moving. The doors opened and they stepped out.
Rather suddenly, Dawn fell to the floor.
“Ow” she groaned, and began to get back up. Before she could, she went flying backwards into the wall, and began yelling. She was having a vision. Buffy ran to her side.
Her whole life flashed before her eyes, from moving to Sunnydale when she was only 10, up to defeating Glory just last year. She knew all this. Why would the powers show it to her?
The pain had stopped.
Buffy sat infront of Dawn, “Are you okay?” she asked.
“I think so,” began Dawn, “I just saw…”
Dawn fell to the floor. She began having another vision, or maybe just the second half to the first one. Again she saw herself. This time in the pouring rain, all bloody and weak, struggling to get up on a street in New York. It felt as if it was in the future, but not too far away.
Dawn opened her eyes. Buffy was staring at her, behaving a little cautiously.
“Is it gonna happen again?” she asked, talking about the visions.
“I don’t think so.” answered Dawn.

Back inside, Dawn explained to the gang what she had seen in her vision. Nick found it all a little strange.
“So let me get this straight,” he began, “you see the future?”
Dawn shook her head, “No,” she answered, “only parts of it. I get shown flashes of bad things that will happen in the future, and it’s up to me to stop them from actually hcoming to pass.”
“Dawn what exactly do you think it meant?” asked Angel.
“It's obvious,” answered Dawn, “it’s what’s going to happen if I don’t stop Anna. We need to work this thing – and soon. She’s gaining power, I can feel it.”
“This must be pretty damn important,” began Nick, “that brunette here before told me that when she had the visions they didn’t come so frequently.”
“Which brunette?” asked Angel, a little surprised. Only Willow had been there when he'd gotten back. He realised Cordelia must not have actually left forever and had been back since Nick had arrived at the motel. She wasn’t really gone. Angel smiled.
“Back to what we were talking about,” Buffy cut in, “how long ‘til your ready to this thing?” she asked, looking to Willow.
“Give me 10 minutes once we get to her place, and I’m all set.”
“Okay” said Dawn, “we’d better go then.”
The gang got up and put their coats on, then headed for the door.
"It's time to end this."

Angel was driving and Dawn sat in the passenger seat. Buffy, Willow and Nick sat in the back. The car was rather silent, until Nick spoke.
"Where are we even going?" he asked.
Angel rolled his eyes. It wasn't that Nick was stupid, it was just that he'd joined the fight late, and no one could be bothered explaining. Everyone was a little annoyed.
"To Anna's" Dawn replied bluntly.
"She's the one possessed by this Kroshal right?" asked Nick.
"Yes." replied Dawn, growing impatient.
"So we're gonna have to fight?" he asked, "sorry but I just need to know these things."
Dawn turned around and looked straight at him, a little angered by his constant questioning. "Probably not, we're gonna try to do this whole thing before we have to fight by catching the thing off-guard, but YES, you may have to. That's about enough of your frickin questions okay?"
"Yeah." said Nick, looking out the window. He wasn't going to bother arguing, he just sat silently.
Dawn looked back out the window, "That's the one."
The car came to a stop.
"This is it?" asked Buffy, peering out of the window.
"Yeah," began Dawn, "this is the place. Angel turn off your headlights, we don't want everyone looking at us."
He did as he was asked. Everybody huddled as close as they could so they could discuss exactly what was going to happen.
"I'm going in first," began Dawn, "It's the apartment at the back." She pointed to Anna's apartment so that everybody could see.
"Willow, you're going to need to start setting up your spell now, just make sure you get everything right, we can't afford any mistakes. Nick you stay here. Protect Willow, the exorcism is sensitive."
Nick and Willow nodded to Dawn, and began preparing the spell ingredients.
"Angel, you wait at the door. If she escapes before we can start I'm counting on you to stop her. Can you do that?" asked Dawn.
"Count on it." Angel replied, smiling. He looked to Buffy, they both chuckled. "Must be a Summer's thing." he joked.
"Sure is." replied Buffy, with a wink.
"Buffy," Dawn interrupted, "you're with me."
"Okay sis."
Dawn sat back in her seat. She wasn't quite sure what to do next. She looked to her sister for guidance.
"What are we waiting for? lets go," Buffy said.
Nick and Willow stayed in the car, while Buffy, Angel and Dawn made their way to the apartment.
"Nervous?" asked Buffy.
"Oh god yeah," Dawn replied anxiously.
"You'll be fine." Buffy stated. "You're a good fighter, plus you have all this extra power now, nothing to worry about." She gave Dawn a comforting smile.
Dawn knew that her sister finally believed in her, and that her sister knew she could handle herself now. "Thanks Buffy." replied Dawn.
"Well I think you can do this."
Angel listened in, he was glad to hear what he was hearing. This meant he could finally hear something other than Buffy complaining about Dawn.
As the three approached the door, Angel stopped.
"I'll wait here." He said, "If this place really is Anna's, I can't go in anyway."
Angel handed Buffy a dagger, and gave Dawn a broad sword, keeping another for himself.
"You ready?" asked Buffy looking to her sister.
"Ready as I'll ever be." replied Dawn.
She put on the necklace Charlie had given to her for protection, then stretched out her arm and wrapped her hand around the door knob. As she turned it, she began to feel an unnatural presence inside of her.

Hannah xoxo

I think you missed a chapter of your fic. Buffy and Dawn meet Nick, a male slayer, for the first time and it's brushed aside???
I was sort of thinking a chapter with Buffy finding out, or the conversation Nick had with Cordy would have been good to read but I can't figure out why you have glossed over the fact? An important fact IMO.
Also a chapter explaining the male slayer would have helped explain why Dawn is annoyed with him. Or is this a to be explained later situation?
Other then that glad to see you are back at the fic and it is good.

i will cover it later on, its just i wanted 2 get this out the way first.. i guess i should have put that in first tho, dont worry ill try to work it all out.

The apartment was cold, very cold. The frost build up on the windows made it almost impossible to see outside. Dawn could see her breath in front of her, rising like steam. It was like one of those really cold winter mornings. She reached out to turn on the light, but couldn't find the switch.
"Spooky much?" Dawn whispered.
"Oh yeah," replied Buffy, "definitely a fear factor in here."
The sisters moved further down the corridor, where it got colder and colder. The feeling of an unnatural presence inside Dawn got continually strengthened as they approached Anna's room.
"I can feel it," stated Dawn, "Anna's strong."
Buffy peered through the nearly closed door.
"I can see her." she told Dawn.
"Lemme see!" said Dawn, slightly pushing Buffy out of the way. The sisters rearranged themselves so that they could both see.
Anna stood in front of her vanity, dressed more or less like Faith, applying lipstick.
"What the hell? This demon's got taste like"¦" began Dawn
"Faith." Buffy finished. "No worse, Faith in her evil days," she added.
The sisters looked at each other and chuckled.
"Oh my god she's coming!" warned Buffy, as she scurried backwards.
Instead of coming through the door, Anna went into her bath room.
"Go," commanded Buffy, edging her sister forward.
Dawn rolled her eyes, "And say what? I broke into your house?"
"Make up something!" replied Buffy, "Dawn quickly."
Dawn gathered up her courage and stepped out. She stood in the bathroom doorway. "Hey Anna."
Anna turned around swiftly, nearly jumping. When she saw Dawn she was relieved. "Oh my god you startled me!"
"Sorry," Dawn replied. She kept telling herself to just act normal. She looked around and bobbed her head a little, trying to think of something to say.
"So who's your friend?" asked Anna.
Buffy emerged from behind the door, wondering how Anna had spotted her.
"Oh"¦ That's Buffy, my sister." said Dawn. She felt very awkward. So did Buffy.
"Hi." said Buffy, with a big fake smile.
"So what's happening tonight?" asked Dawn. "Are you going out?"
Anna glared straight at her.
A little intimidated, Dawn blushed. "What?" she asked.
Anna stepped forward, she was about a foot away from Dawn. Staring straight into her eyes, Dawn noticed her eyes were completely empty, like there was no one inside. A little frightened, she backed away a little.
"You're actually going to tell me you came here to see "˜what's happening tonight'?" asked Anna, she seemed angered.
"Maybe we should just go." said Dawn, beginning to walk towards the door.
Anna pointed sharply at the door handle, Buffy and Dawn heard it lock. "No, stay," she said, with a sinister smile on her face. She stared at Dawn's protection amulet and chuckled.
"Anna what's going on?" asked Dawn, still acting a little.
Anna cocked her eyebrow, "Oh come on, like you don't know. I know why you're here."
She then swung an unexpected punch at Dawn. It connected well, throwing her across the room and into the wall.
Buffy assumed a fighting position, and then she threw a punch at Anna. It also connected well, but caused hardly any effect.
"And you're a Slayer!" teased Anna, kicking Buffy right in the mid-section. She also went flying across the room, landing close to her sister.
"You morons actually thought you could stop me?" asked Anna. "You have no idea who you're dealing with."
Buffy reached for a vase. "Think quick!" she yelled, as she threw it. It smashed over Anna, knocking her back a little.
"Wow," began Anna, "didn't expect that, you're a little sneaky aren't cha?" She began moving swiftly towards Buffy.
Dawn jumped up and raised her arms, "Back off!" she yelled. She was trying very hard to evoke some sort of power. Noting happened.
Anna laughed, "You're pathetic!"
She then grabbed Dawn by the throat and slowly she began to lift her off the ground.
"Any last words?" asked Anna.
She then threw her back across to the other side of the room.
"I wanna kill the Slayer first!" she yelled.
Dawn concentrated hard, she closed her eyes. A flash of white light exploded in her mind. When she opened her eyes, she noticed that her whole body was glowing. With all her might, she forced all oer energy towards Anna.
Anna was hit devastatingly, and knocked out cold.
"Still pathetic?" asked Dawn sarcastically, kicking the unconscious demon.
Buffy looked up at her sister, who helped her up. "Thanks Dawnie."
Dawn laughed, "I think I owed ya that one. Come on lets get the others in here."
