Did U Like The Ending (last Episode) And Why???

The general concept of the ending (Buffy can finally let go of her responsibility, Sunnydale destroyed) I though was excellent. Perfect in fact. But the episode itself, didn't like it too much.

Started well with the cool Caleb fight. But last weeks climax, what was that all about?!? The final Buffy cliffhanger seems to suggest that Spike goes evil, but then they just brush it off, pretty disappointing. They should have ended with Caleb rising up again after the first 'kill'.

Then the build up. I'n not complaining about this, it was all good and well, but I thought the Not Fade Away build up had more emotional moments, like Angel with Connor, Spike's poetry, Gunn at the shelter, Wes & illyria etc.

Then the final scene, had it's moments, but mostly I found it underwhelming or lame. Willow goes white- hmm, nice idea I suppose, but kinda silly. There's the inevitable death sequence with Anya, but it wasn't so much a sequence as a quick swipe. We have Spike too, but he comes back in Angel so that's not so special. Then everyone else is just pushed to the background. Final scene with Buffy runing over the buildings, I laughed, which surely isn't the kind of effect the final scene should have. And to finish it off, Dawn gets the last line, which annoyed me a bit.

The thing I really don't like about the finale is how each character didn't really play a part. It was pretty much a case of Spike saves the day, or even the amulet saves the day. This is why i found the gift MUCH better as a series finale, everyone was crucial in their own way (Xander weakens glory with the bulldozer, Anya had the ideas of the Hammer and Orb, Giles finished Ben etc).

So as an episode I'd give Chosen an 9/10. As a season finale I'd give it 8/10. And as a series finale, I'd go for 6/10.

Just for contrast, I'd give the Gift 10,10,10 and Not Fade away a 10,10,9

Agreed...The Gift deserves a rating of 10

Darn it, you just brought up all the memories about the finale that I was repressing. Now I'm thinking about all the parts that I didn't like.

I forgot about the Buffy running scene. That was totally bogus... especially after all of the stunt sequences that we had seen before that were totally amazing.

Oooohhh, now I'm going to thinking about this for a while.

The series finale was amazing. I loved it. Anything could always be better, but Joss did the best that he could with this, and he did a damn good job.

ok I Got questions ! plz ansewr, um why the HELL is spike dead and um is he like gone gone ?!?! that would suck ! and why did he tell buffy that she didn't love him and she was just saying that, and did he really go to hell or heaven ? i mean what happened to him with the light and everything ?!?! And anya dying really SUCKED and Xanders being so cool about it SUCKED EVEN WORSE , i mean two of the main characters are gone and every1 is acting sooooo cool ! ugh ! is death that simple ? lol and first it was weird that faith had the same power that buffy had , i thought she's one of a kind , but now EVERY1 has her powers i mean what makes her special now ?
oh ya and when 's season 8 ? lol and where are they gonna be , ? they've always been in sunnydale .. ? and god i've already missed Spike and Anya can't believe they're GONE and all the potentials are as good as buffy now who's gonna be the leader !?
Thanks

There isn't going to be any season 8. That was the end of it.I can tell you that the story kinda continues in season 5 of Angel. If you haven't seen Angel yet, you should because it's very good. Season 5 of Angel might also answer some of your questions. I could answer your questions myself but I don't want to spoil anything for you if you haven't seen it.

oh i have seen spike came back like the same way he disapeered in the last episode, in one of the angel commercial , he isn't dead yay ! so what about buffy ? and the others ? and thinking of anya is pretty sad !!!!! 🙁
ok i'm cant live without seing buffy everyday ! AHHH !!! is it like over for forever !?!?! I saw a bit of angel once i didn't like it at all as much as buffy not the least ... and hey how did buffy survive the stab thing anyway?
vision guy you rock thanks.

which characters of buffy will season 5 of angel have ? i wish it was all of them ! lol it's good to dream , lol.

If you really want me to fill you in then you can PM me. I don't want to post it on the thread because some people probably haven't seen it.

PS: Thanks. No one has ever told me I rock before😀

I loved Season 7 - it's my absolute favorite. Like someone said before, it was Buffy coming full circle and having some closure on all the issues we saw her battle over the seven seasons.

Two big thumbs up 😀

I liked BUFFY's finale very much. What really made it for me, aside from Buffy and Willow's change of the Slayer line, was Buffy's ephinany - that she had to learn who Buffy Summers was. In other words, she had to learn about herself and not allow her life to revolve around the expectations of others, being the Slayer or around any romance.

And this is the very reason why I disliked ANGEL's finale. His ephinany of "Keep fighting the good fight" is a cop-out to me. It tells me that being a champion is more important to him than being himself and getting a life. And I hate his resolution regarding the Circle of the Black Thorn and Wolfram and Hart. I consider it one of the worse decisions he had ever made.

Yeah it was good, but it could have been better...it was such a sad feeling watching it..knowing it would be the end. Honestly, no matter what Joss could have done we all would still have these different feelings about it. But it was ..not sure how to say it..left me with a really sad feeling.ah cant think of how to describe it..it was just hard watching a show you grew up watching end..I've been watching it since the show premiered 1st season..and its just still weird not watching any new episodes.

The only part I liked in the episode, was when Buffy handed Faith the scythe and told her to hold the line. I thought that moment had been built up perfectly.

Other than that, I was not pleased. The whole show ended because of some little necklace which was only thrown into the season on the very last episode. Plus, they wasted like five minutes on the Wood/Faith relationship, which in my opinion, should never have happened and was definitely not 'season finale-worthy'. They just had no time to build it up...

I did like the season, just not the final episode.

If you'd ask me I'd have to say that the last episode was perfect, but it should of been atleast two hours. One, the Wood and Faith thing was cute. I think its showing that Faith can love and not just still be labeled as a psycho killer. The necklace was unique because Angel said it was only fit for a champion, thus proving Spike is a champion. But I do agree on the part when Buffy handed Faith the Scythe. That showed that Buffy believed in her and trusted her again.

^I thought the necklace needed a bigger build up like the scythe...It just seemed to me as if it had been thrown in at the very ending to help the goodies win.

i liked the last episode for the music....the final battle music was amasing.....and spike became the hero he deserved to be.....i cryed.......but i was abit werid....every girl becoming strong......what if they abuse power? or was it just temp ?????.......didnt like anyas death eaither....but she died saving andrews life.

^^Well I think Dana sort of abused her power in Angel...She was mentally disturbed though so I'm not sure if that counts.

I know what you mean though - I've thought about it in the past also.

Even though the last episode wasnt the greatest (doesnt top other season finales Season 1, 2, 3 or even 5 for that matter) .. but i must admit that i shed a tear when i watched Spike die... it was one of thise things that made you realise that Buffy had moved on from Angel, but Spike knew that he could never be a match!

Ok episode, not too keen! Anya died, and she did my head in, and the "love interest" between Faith and Wood really was pointless!!
