When an emotionally unstable woman, Dana (guest star Navi Rawat, "House of Sand and Fog"), escapes from a psychiatric ward, Angel (David Boreanaz) learns that she was tortured as a child and is now searching for her tormentor. Andrew (guest star Tom Lenk, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), a watcher-in-training, arrives from Sunnydale with surprising information about Buffy and to inform the group that Dana is also a vampire slayer. Meanwhile, Spike (James Marsters) believes that if he can save Dana, he will prove that he is destined to be the vampire champion.

This was the funniest episode I've ever seen!

WHOA.

The end of this show is so chock full of meaning it's going to take us weeks to unravel. O_O

But um.. Was it just me, or did seeing carloads of slayers filing out to collect one of their own make you catch your breath?

I just finished watching it, and it was great! It was the frickin' funniest episode. I'm so happy that we know where Buffy is! I've been searching for it for a fan fiction I'm writing. Dana was great! She was way stronger than Buffy was it seems. Anyways, great episode!

God I totally loved this episdoe! It was great seeing Andrew agian, he lost some of his funny but not all of it. I loved seeing Dana the newest slayer to join the bunch and it showed reprocussions of Willows spell.

But what I loved the most was the ending with Andrew and the slayers vs. Angel and Wolferman & Hart, that is what I hopeing for and I got it so yay 🙂 Its nice to see some distrust from Buffy(even though she wasnt there) and if SMG appears next year hopefully she will still have that distrust of Angel and co.(that would include Spike)

Oh oh and I loved hearing where all of them were, Willow and Kennedy still together, Xander by himself so far, Buffy and Dawn in Rome with Dawn studying there, it looks like the Scoobies split up for awhile.

I loved Andrew doing the whole double crossing thing, useing Angel to find Dana was great.

Buffy was a full blown prep when she became a Slayer so she didnt even know how to throw a punch whereas Dana was crazy and knew how to fight more and better from her flashbacks of other slayers.

Xander is in Africa. Buffy and Dawn are in Rome. I forget where Willow and Kennedy are, but they said someone was in Reno.

I think this episode was the best so far. It seems that Andrew grew a pair over the 6 months since we saw him.

Do you think its true that no one trusts Angel anymore? I don't think Buffy would ever not trust him, but people change.

I love it when all the Slayers came out from behind the cars. I was hoping Vi or Caridad or an old favorite would be there, but that scene was still really cool.

I recorded it... I'm gunna go watch it again.

And again a good Spike episode. I cannot believe she cut off his hands! I am very glad that it turned out that Spike was not the one who tortured her, but have we ever seen one of his past victims? Besides the slayers. When he fell out of the window, did it remind anyone else of when Angel and Faith did? I can't help but be reminded of Five by Five arch, what with the psycho slayer and the nerdy sorta watcher.

Tom Lenk is still funny as all get out. The end though when the slayers come to take Dana away, I was like alright in your face Angel! (I do not like Angel). It's very funnry to me how long it is taking Team Angel to figure out that they have turned evil.

For me, the season is really starting to pick up. I felt the first few eps were very shaky, especially how they tried to work in Spike. (I love Spike.) I hope it stays this exciting. Can't wait till next week when you know who comes back to kick Angel's butt for being evil.

I swear, sometimes me and Joss are like, connected 🙂 First I mention the possibility that Spike is the one the Shanshu prophecy is about, back when Spike got his soul.

Then after the Buffy season finale, I raised the very concern that comes up in this episode. What happened to all the other slayers?

Really, I should be writing for this show 🙂

I thought it was a great episode, but what stood out most in my mind was the hospital bed conversation at the end. Angel and Spike wouldn't admit it, but I think that was a definite step forward in their relationship. Spike may be working with Angel sooner than I thought.

It was great to see Spike's realization of Angel's point of view, the guilt and shame that came from such a bloody past. And I think Angel may have gained some respect for Spike after his little soliliquy about not being able to blame the girl's reaction, since he had murdered families in the past, even if they weren't hers.

And the discussion/exposition about their personal experiences with evil was amazing. I got a little chill at the very end, when Spike said that he didn't think the help had come in time, that she was "one of us...a monster."

Angel: She's a innocent victim.
Spike: So were we, once upon a time.
Angel: ...once upon a time...

The willingness of Whedon and the other writers to show darkness as relentless and insidious is one of my favorite components of Angel. Great stuff, and once of the best scenes to end an episode. The sudden black screen was so appropriate.

This episode was awesome. Andrew was hilarious, as usual. I thought it was funny how he said he'd had therapy sessions about Spike. I did like the end...how he was all about the business. Challenging Angel was pretty brave. He was under Buffy's orders though. I'm glad there's that sense of distrust toward Angel since the decision to move to W&H has been under scrutiny lately.

That new slayer Dana was pretty cool. I mean, she was pretty traumatized and all, but she had moves. The woman who played her was great. I really felt for the character. I hope the slayers really help her.

The end was pretty deep...biggest connection between Angel and Spike for a while. Does this mean they're on better terms? Nah, I doubt that. I'm glad Spike finally understands some of what Angel has been feeling for so many years. Last thing...it was great hearing about the Scooby Gang again. I'd love to see Buffy in Rome.

loved the ep, this just proves to me that willows spell for the potentials is the stupidest thing shes ever done, you cannot control who a potential is-and surprise some may be crazy. i think andrew aggagerated (sp) to angel, i am sure he was under buffys orders but i don't see buffy ever totally distrusting angel, i think he was having a power trip moment and i wanted to punch him. i really loved angel and spike bonding and the end.

Here's a list of the cities/places Andrew mentioned in this ep:

- Rome (where Buffy and Dawn are)

- Brazil/Rio De Janero [sp?] (where Willow and Kennedy are)

- Africa (where Xander is)

My thoughts:

- Man, how cool was it to see Andrew pull rank on Angel?

- Dana has got to be the creepiest character Joss has EVER created (creepier than Angelus, at least IMO). This is one chick (crazy or not, Slayer strength or not) that you do not want to mess with. If/when the Watchers get her straightened out, vampires are gonna need to be watching themselves.

- Spike with no hands = maximum creep factor

- Would have liked to have heard more about Giles and the new WC, but it's cool to know that it is, for the most part, back in business. And Andrew in a suit and tie = cool!!!!!

- Don't know why, but it seems weird to me to think of Dawn in an Italian school.

this ep is soooo good so far poor spikey and andrew is making like a gazillion references to sci-fi they are pretty funny

He gets his hands back, though, Magui 😀.

This is by far my MOST fave ep of this season (so far). It was incredible. I love how Andrew was able to talk to Angel like that in the fourth act... I feel sorry for Angel kinda 'cause it may mean that even Buffy doesn't trust him anymore...

I loved this story arc. It's so sick that there are actual people out there right now doing the things that happened to Dana. Dana was so brutally and mentally tortured that that's what happened to her... I also loved the ending. Angelus was more evil than Spike, but they did much worse than what happened to Dana and they had fun.

I enjoyed every second of this episode... it was so funny when Andrew was hugging Spike, lol. It's cool that there were references to LOTR and "Storyteller." 😀

oh,well,...now the whole thing is a lil less creepy😛

it was so funny when Andrew was hugging Spike

I need to see that!,I can't take it anymore,I will dl it,..no,I won't...well,I just read the summary,do you guys really think buffy doesn't trust him anymore?,I can't stand the idea,..I mean,..no,..it's Angel,Buffy must trust him,..I'm going to cry

Have you ever been trying to tape a show on VHS, and you forgot to change from SP to EP, so that the tape gets eaten up twice as fast as you thought it would, and half way through the show it starts to automatically rewind, because you're out of tape.

That's what happened to me, and I'm thinking, "God, why couldn't this have happened last week!"

This episode will still be appearing on people's top 10 lists in years yet to come.

When I saw Deknight and Goddard were going to be writing it, I knew it was going to good, but I didn't think it was going to be this good.

The Goddard/Deknight team has another one coming up in a couple of weeks. Can they top this?

Well, Andrew didn't say it directly... he said something like 'no one at the camp trusts you anymore 'cause you're working for W&H (the enemy) now... blah blah blah... we're not on the same side anymore' to Angel. Sorry, I forget things easily. I actually cried when I thought of Buffy not trusting him ::crying::.

Andrew was all like 'He's alive, Frodo! He's alive!' to Spike as he was hugging him and Spike was just standing there with this annoyed look on his face, not saying anything.

Magui, be good. Repeat after me: I will not download Damage. I will not download Damage. I will not download Damage. I will not download Damage.

Feel better?

nerd4hire, I set it to SP for better resolution, but it always switches to EP, lol. Completely oppposite problems.

I don't know if SD and DF can top this one with the next since it was so good!. Then again, who knows?

I hate my grandma! All weeek I told her to that she needs to tape this episode of Angel because I would be at work, I ven left a machine message from work. I get home and what do I see? Nothing. I missed the episode I have been waiting all season for. I missed the only Andrew appearance all season, sounds like hewas great. Well, I'm off to smother my Grams with a pillow.

Buffy and co. dont really trust anyone who works at Wolferman & Hart which is what I like because if SMG ever appears it will make the episode better, no big smush between Buffy-Angel or Buffy-Spike, and she will probably find out that Spike is alive when Andrew returns to England. It would be nice if all of this came down to Buffy and co. battleing Angel and co.

And im guessing that Buffy,Willow and Xander have probably gotten more serious and dark when it comes to their work they wont be playing around anymore. But Faith is probably the only one who trusts Angel and co. but if she doesnt that makes things better.
