I cried the first time I saw "Hero", but I was kinda happy because Doyle went out like a hero. He had everything he could've wanted, he even got Cordelia to finally go out with him but he gave all of that up because he believed in what Angel was doing.

"You don't know until you've been tested, I get that now" always one of my favorite lines.
 
I do wish Doyle was around for longer, but then we wouldn't of got Wesley. Well we may of done, but the three of Angel/Wes/Cordy was superb, and the group dynamic would of been completely different.
I wander how things would of all panned out if Doyle had become a big bad, I don't see how it would of worked personally.
 
I love Hero, it's where we really got to know Doyle, why's he's like he is. Him realising that his death will save the others, when he failed them before. It's such a sad ending but he went out finally understanding his part in life. This was one episode I remember crying as I watched it.
 
It really annoyed me when Doyle died. I get why they had to but he was such a great character and I think he had a lot more potential that didn't get to be lived up to.
 
I wish he would have died later. Not that early. But I agree with whomever said it made Cordy grow. She did grow after her interaction with Doyle.

It was very sad, but it made me respect Doyle that much more.
 
I loved Doyle and was heartbroken when he died. I have to give Joss credit for doing that, because it was such an unexpected move so early in the series. His death did have a major effect on all the characters, especially Cordelia, but I still missed him. I loved the moment in You're Welcome when Cordy was watch the video where Doyle was talking about their rats.

I just thought it was SOOOOO sad that Doyle had to die. But, It was either him or the world.

Whenever I think Doyle I think "Our rats are low!" and I start cracking up. He was a fantastic character. I wish the writers had given him more time to grow. I miss him so much. I like Wesley but I'm definitely a Doyle fan.

It probably has something to do with being a fan of Glenn Quinn from Roseanne. Ahh those were the days...

Loved Roseanne!
His character was awesome! I just started watching it yesterday, sans spoilers, and i hadnt even realised what had happened. It was a BIG shock. He became such a large part of the show, and it was so easy to like him, I nearly started crying after he died... (think Ned getting his head chopped off in GOT--that heartbreaking!). :S
