Episode Discussion Game of Thrones, Season 8

Don't know if we're supposed to tag, but just in case...

My friend was certain that there would be a big battle with the white walkers in the first episode. I figured it would be more set up. Maybe next episode... 😳

Okay, I know this is in good fun (I hope) but please let's remember to keep things cordial in this thread.

I must admit, the white walker kid got me. And I knew it was coming.

Arya is so self entitled it annoys me. I was surprised they had Sam be so affected by the news of his father and brother's death, but I'm glad they did it that way. I did cheer when Jamie showed up 😀 And when he saw Bran...

Me aswell. When they had the shot of the red beard man in front of him, I knew his eyes were coming next. That's when I started drawing flowers. Haha. The screaming reminded me of Fred melting demon eggs with her flame thrower.

I had to go and look up the Fallon thing @Spanky mentioned and I totally agree, she was a better actor on that show than in GoT where shes just so full of herself. Arya has to die, preferable at the Hounds hand just for an extra 'in your face' moment.

Sams quivering lip was awwww I wanted to throw a bunny at his face to kiss him better.

I didn't cheer as much as I think I was meant to when Yarra was rescued. I look forward to Cersei murdering pirate man and being reunited with a blonde Jamie. 😍 I never imagined I would be rooting for twinsest, but there ya go.
 
The big flaming meat ring reminded me of The Thing.

I love Cersei, she's so entertaining to watch. The only reason I don't enjoy Dany is cos of Emilia Clarke's acting. Her face acting is atrocious.

And the dragon riding scene made me laugh. 🎶 I can show you the world! 🎶
 
Finally it's back and I got to watch it last night. It was really great to see all the reunions, all the pieces in place for the big ending.

Sam makes the big reveal and that's going to be a game changer. I thought he was going to tell Danaerys first for a moment but hearing that she'd killed his family put a stop to that. Will the Kings Aunt who has spent years banging on about her devine right to rule bend the knee to Aegon when she finally finds out the truth. I hope he's not stupid enough to tell her in private or that'll probably be the end of him.

My only slight gripe is with Euron. The character just doesn't feel right at all. It's like he's been shipped in from another universe. Just so annoying all the time. A pound shop Ramsey.

Totally agree. Weird pirate man doesn't really seem sure who his idol is, Johnny Depp or Ramsey. Hope he dies soon.

I don't think he will tell her at all. That will serve as the catalyst for their split- she will find out and find out he was hiding it from her and she will see it as a betrayal and get all strompy as she is wont to do.

See I stopped reading the books because I didn't want to spoil the show. So this is the only version of the character I know. It's not so much that I don't like him, it's just he's the only one that takes me out of the show. Always get a real sense that I'm watching an actor hamming it up rather than a character.
 
Lots of soppy reunions and rom com moments. Sams spiel was just like the Jehovahs Witnesses. Guess that is that, Aryas final 'not a kid anymore' scene. Much better doing that than hanging with the miserable bastards lol.
Kneel.. Brianne is going to die. I hope its not forshadowing a death for Brianne of Tuft on Instagram.
Ohh that was a good secret reveal scene when Jon tells Deny. Can't they just rule together, him King of the North and her for the blondies. Their kids will be line bred again so its win/win really isn't it?

I think I have forgotten too much of the earlier seasons to be more than a WOO PRETTY viewer now. I also think the hype has pulled me out of the story a bit. Oh well, sure it will still be worth the ride. Didn't have to draw any flowers in this episode.
