I think gay marriage should be legal everywhere. I believe it is wrong not to allow two gay people to marry. They are in love, like straight people, and want to be committed by the beautiful union of marriage, so why not give them that right? In the end, we are all the same, human beings who should be treated equally.

it should definatley be legal, its not hurting anyone if two gay people marry is it?

If two people love each other then they should be allowed to marry. On the point about the bible, I believe that the book was interpreated by men, and a lot of infomation was left out, because of people's personal belifes. I am not trying to upsrt religious peole, since I hold a belief myself this is just my belief, please do not be offended.

Gay people should have the same rights as hetrosexuals and I believe that should include marriage.

I voted Yes, gay people should be allowed to marry-it is true-you do not choose who you find attractive and who you fall in love-everyone should be allowed to express their love in the same way.

Yep yep & definitly yep !!!
Gay should be allowed to marry, at least on the legal aspect. & if Church doesn't allow gay marriage, we should just let it be narrow minded & old fashinoned and ignore it.

I think yes they're people to, why shouldnt they be allowed to get married. I mean gay people should be allowed to express their love in anyway they please.

Agreed, here are that particulars of the proposed ammendment which would prohibit gay marriage and eliminate all civil unions:

"Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman."

"Neither this Constitution or the constitution of any state, nor state or federal law, shall be construed to require that marital status or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups."

This ammendment isn't an active piece of legislation yet, but if many conservative groups have their way it soon could be.

FYI: If anyone is interested if you do a google search there is a petition to oppose the proposed ammendment. I can't give you the url because the posting guidelines won't let me. Sorry.

Interesting question!!Not being gay and not wanting to get married I'm probably not best placed to comment but that's never stopped me before!!

I think seeing marriage is a legislative thing, the people of that state should have the chance to vote yes or no......If it's yes then enshrine it in the state legislature if it's no then I'm afraid gay people will have to go being in long term relationships without society's approval as they've mostly had to do throughout the ages......

Personally I would vote yes but I'm not sure who would win out in Britain...... ::change::

I don't think that particular link-rule applies to this, BS (or any other admin), is this true? Can she not post this link?

It's because to keep people from trolling the site posting advertising (ie porn links), people cannot post links until they have 15 posts.

I said yes... I'm another who thinks people should be able to marry whoever they fall in love with! I would hate it if i wasnt able to marry the one i love!

I will also agree with Buffy Summers on the non religious thing. I'm not religious at all but i still want to get married. I'm gonna have a registry in a castle somewhere I think! 🙂

i definitely think they should be allowed to marry i think people should just be able to marry who they want where they want- i dont agree int he bible where it says that homosexuality is wrong and im Christian but i dont agree with that at all

I think gay people should be allowed to marry, be it legal or in a religious fashion. I'm not gay, so I suppose its easier for me to form an opinion when it comes to my religion about the subject. Being Roman Catholic the Bible says its wrong to be gay, but in my opinion the Bible is a big contridiction. My point of view is the same as Sophy's. The Bible is wrote by a group of men who interpreted God's teachings. I believe in a God that made everyone the way he wanted. I don't think he would make people feel a certain way and then turn around and say 'I'm going to punish you for the way I made you.'

thats like totally wrong, i mean if someone really loves the other person they should, if anyone watches Home and Away (aussie show) and you see kirsty and kane, no one thinks they should get married and they did. So if I was then I just would. Anyways back on subject my answer is yes, everyone has a right, and a right to mary just like everyone else.

Thats such an unfair judgement, its natural to fall in love even if it isnt the same that everyone else does, I mean they didnt do anyone wrong they didnt murder anyone, why should they get punished??
(sorry this sounds mean, im just opinionising)

Thats not only my judgement buddy, its GODS judgement too. Fair enough if you want to sin in order to be with the one you love, but if marriage is a religious ceremony than what right does a gay couple have to get married? None! None whatsoever! Its bad enough that they are sinning, but then they are sinning in the name of God aswell. Dont you see what I mean? You cant get married in the name of God if you are flat out sinning at the same time?

And dont get me wrong, I have nothing against Gay people but I totally object to Gay Marriages.. and if you are a christian then so should you.

If God is the "all holy one" who supposedly cares about every precious human being, why would he only allow certain people to be happy? And I'm Christian, but I still want people to be happy with the choices they make. I'm not trying to insult anyones believes, those are just mine.
