Amy's Mom? lol I don't know. I'm watching old episodes and looking at the least likely suspects and people that may have been forgotten about. I think in true Joss fashion, there's going to be a nice twist, meaning it's someone we know or linked to someone we know.

I really believe it's Riley. For some reason I want to say its him! But who knows, if it isn't him, then I think possibly its someone we haven't yet met or know about yet. Grrr...I just want to know NOW who it is!

i think the way he speaks sound all too familiar and its gotta be someone we already know.... i just cant put my finger on it, i wish this was on tv

its totally ethan rayne. i mean, come on people.

facts:
1. he is still alive.
2. he was captured by the initiative for reasons we do not know (we think its because riley helped giles when he was turned into a fyoral demon......but i think the initiative have been watching him for a while and have been looking for an excuse to capture him in order to harness or contain his powers).
3. he has always been searching for a "larger" life for himself.
4. he has already made an appearance in season 8 (buffys dream).

You've almost got me talked into it.

I thought he got killed...
Does the introduction of time travel create some new possibilities for Twilight?

In the new issue it appears Giles is referred to as the last great watcher, and he sacrifices himself in the battle of Starbucks, so we can eliminate him, right?

Unless Twilight perishes too in the battle of Starbucks.
Maybe twilight is the first male slayer. Buffy had good intentions, but should 1800 people have so much power. The military fear that when every demon is slain, that the slayers will be able to do what they want, who's strong enough to stop them? Maybe this is the new chosen one, but his job is to stop the slayers.

From what we've seen of Twilight so far, would you lot say he's been using the truth to plant seeds of doubt?

How about Twilight being Pike or somebody else from Buffy's pre-Sunnydale phase?

What, you mean like Pike was Buffy's secret meeting in New York, or something, and it turns out he's also Twilight. Wouldn't that be a shocker.

I'd want pretty good odds on that one though.

Edit

JasperFan agrees: I'm fairly certain that was Riley

Yes. It was, but check the date of the post. We were talking spec.

I think that Twilight is someone or something who believes that Buffy is the Slayer that banishes all Demons and Supernatural forces from the world.

So who do we know that would not want that happen?

1) The Watchers (what's left of them) as it would remove the source of their power and their whole reason for existing.
2) Demons as they would not want to be banished from this world.
3) Vampires (with the possible exception of Angel and Spike.
4) Witches as they would suddenly become powerless.
5) The First as it would also be banished. In fact that maybe why it tried to kill the Slayer line so as to ensure that any prophesy concerning this event does not happen.
6) Some Slayers who like being Slayers and don't want to lose their powers.

So there are a lot of people / creatures who would not want this to happen.

The only thing is that apparently in Fray it is stated that the Slayer who does this was the last one to be called. Now unless that is a mistake then it is not Buffy that does it. If you leave out all the Slayers that were created in Chosen then it will probably be Faith.

I had a few new ideas about who Twilight could be today.

Willie the bartender: If there's no more demons in this realm, he'll have hardly any customers in his bar! He needs the demons to stay.

Or...Buffy!: Maybe in Fray's time, Dark Willow shows Buffy that she has done more harm than good creating her army of Slayerettes and that magic should stay. Dark Willow then turns Buffy as insane as she is and sends Buffy back in time where she becomes Twilight and tries to stop her past self...

My money's still on Angelus though.

Angelus would make me roll my eyes, not in a way that I'm criticizng your guess, but I am a little tired of seemingly allies turning on the good guys and turning out to be bad. I think it's a huge cliche and with Willow already seemingly doing it, I wouldn't like any more. Except if it was explained well then I'd be fine with it for the most part.

I don't think Willow is the big bad. Though I do think that she is in league with Twilight. I think the hierarchy is that Twilight takes orders from Willow who takes orders from the real big bad.

Who is Pike?

He's in the movie
Who is Pike?

Pike is Buffy's bad boy, love interest in the original Buffy movie. The movie may, or may not be considered canon, but the original Joss Whedon script pretty much unanimously is.

Did you ever suddenly think of something that once it's in your head it's so obvious you can't understand why you didn't think of it all along?

If Ethan Rayne was Twilight, he wouldn't have to come back from the dead. His assassination would have been faked.

Somebody even said earlier "Ethan's not dead". It didn't occur to me that might be what he meant.

I just started re-reading all the comics and I'm up to issue 11. I got some interesting bits of info that might help out.

In The Long Way Home, Part 3, Willow says "I saw the big picture", isn't that also one of the themes of this season, certainly for Buffy? Is this line significant in any way?
In The Long Way Home, Part 4, Willow and Buffy both say that they are a part of each other, which explains how Willow can share her magic with Buffy. What effect does this have on Future Willow?
In Anywhere But Here, Robin says "The important thing is that you rescue the prince." Willow and Buffy both dismiss this comment and it could be something like the cheeseguy from Restless or perhaps it's something that will come up later. Who is the prince? Maybe Harth?

The most important detail is so small you easily overlook it. In fact it's a picture, not words.
In No Future For You, Part 3, Gigi is showing Faith all the surveillance footage of Buffy she bought. Did she track it down herself, or did she let Roden do it? Didn't Twilight say he knows all Buffy's moves? So if you add one and one, I figure Twilight (at least as an organisation) has been monitoring Buffy. Well then, in the frame where Gigi says "No, YOU have much to prepare, Roden." You can see one of the screens in the background pretty clearly. It shows a blonde girl (presumably Buffy) running up some stairs/construction, pushing a hooded man out of the way. Is it just me or does everybody else also recognise this as being from "The Gift". If so, wow, Twilight has been on Buffy for quite a while, if he was already tracking her during Season 5. What does that tell you?
