Its hard am racking my brain here, maybe hes a Robot ? It could even have something to do with wolfram and hart but thats me just being crazyfaced x

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (probably), but what about Hank Summers, Buffy's father? He's always been a major absence in her life ever since she got called out to become the next Slayer (see "Becoming pt 1 or 2"). Buffy has been so wrapped up in her own dealings all this time, to get too caught up in her father not being there. He wasn't there for Buffy's latter birthdays, he wasn't even there for Joyce's death and he never even mentioned to contact Buffy after he presumably heard Sunnydale got destroyed?

I realise it's a bit far fetched, but what else does the Whedonverse stand for these days? Think about it. Maybe Hank was part of something bigger, something neither Buffy or Joyce knew about. And it has come to my understanding that Hank and Joyce split up moments after Buffy got her first call. It would finally address something that has been bothering me for years while watching Buffy. Hank's absence. He has been 'gone' for quite awhile so alot could've happend to him in the meantime. Plus, I've always found that "he ran off with his secretary to Spain' excuse way too lame for the Whedonverse.

Joss put clever lines in the comic saying Twilight knew Buffy, and his first intentions were not to hurt her but simply to talk. He also mentioned in an interview somewhere, that Twilight would hit Buffy close to home. The betrayal from the most unexpected person in her life. So it is someone close to her, yet it would come as a complete surprise. It's not such a bad bet. Besides, Buffy has major daddy-issues so I'd be delighted to see how this thing turns out once finally addressed.

If Hank were to be Twilight, I'm not yet sure what exactly his motives would be. But I'm sure he'd be part of something bigger all this time. Who knows? Whatever the case, he shouldn't be ruled out I think.

But does Hank actually know his daughter is the Slayer??? But it's an interesting theory. *I have a theory.......*

It came to me in bed last night. Twilight is Tara.
When Sunnydale was destroyed, all sorts of things were flying out of the hellmouth and some of the mystical energy allowed Tara to claw her way out of the spirit world after realising that Willow's spell will cause her to become Dark Willow again once she realises what a mistake activating all the slayers was.

Tara is trying to get rid of magic and stop the slayers to save Willow 😛 Maybe the betrayal is Willow uncovering this and going against Buffy.

I dunno I haven't read any of the comics and its pretty whacked but ya knoooo.

I like this theory, but I fear that I like more because I want it to be true than because it will actually turn out that way. Theories like Xander bug me because I like him and I don't want him to be evil way (and this isn't a Willow greaving and freaking out, this is long and planned and I don't think there would be a way back).

I however am alright with this because it will hurt Buffy and I could understand but I'm not losing anything in the process, lol. Though that's why I fear it won't be. Joss likes for you to lose something along with everybody else.

Someone actually mentioned to me it might be Lorne. But that's reaching.

Lol, the "big reveal" would be like a scene out of Family Guy (not a good thing).

TWILIGHT/LORNE: Mwahaha, Slayer! Are you surprised to see me?
BUFFY: .......who are you...?
LORNE: errr, I'm Lorne, Angel's Karaoke Demon...
BUFFY: Oh, yeah, um... that is a surprise... well...
LORNE: Hey, hey, wait... is Faith here? Or Willow, Willow knows me.
BUFFY: Nope, sorry...
LORNE: Oh...
BUFFY: So, um, what's the deal with the anti-Slayer-thing?
LORNE: Well, Angel made me kill this lawyer, and it took me to a dark place. I got better, and was briefly the King of LA, but after I got deposed, things went downhill again. Then I met these nice military people who had lovely singing voices and they told me how Slayers butcher all of the classics like "Lady Marmalade."
BUFFY: That's, that's it?
LORNE: Yeah, you know when I say it out loud it does seem awfully silly. Sorry cupcake, the War is Officially over.

Hahahaha that was the funniest thing ive seen all day!
The latest little clue wheedled from Scott Allie:

Twilight wears a mask primarily to hide his identity.

This somewhat lessens the probability that he's a vampire and needs it to protect himself from the sun.

Also, it opens up even more the question of WHY he needs to hide his identity... not just from Buffy and her friends, but from his own allies as well.

what if its just some warlock and he pissed because he was the big bad this whole time and now some witch (willow) is now stronger then him.

also what about Rex did Willow kill him or did she just get a pick-me-up. im just saying Rex could have taken something from her too but im not to sure about that im only up to the 8th comic so yea

Who the hell's bells is Rex?
I've considered Xander, Oz, and Riley so far. Oz seems less likely because he's a tiny person. Xander seems too loyal to Buffy, but, one never knows. And Riley works for Twilight, so who he really is, I'm not sure of.

I still think its Giles...Twilight has a cleft in his chin as does Giles. Plus he's been away from Buffy for so long.

i dunno....i think it has something to do with the first. i mean, to me that wasnt really resolved. The slayers and spike destroyed all the uber vamps, but you can kill the first...its just a matter of time before that story line resurfaces. i could be a new minion of the first...that could be bad ass. i think anyways...plus buffy's father might be a boring story line...like who really cares about him?

I'm guessing that I really haven't been following the comics enough to follow this! How much longer are they going to drag this story line on for? I swear it's been a good couple of years since the first comic came out.

It's really been two years??
This season is 40 issues and with one coming each month it'll be a while. 😉 And then there'll be a season 9.

I don't know if it has been two years. But it has been at least 18 months. I remember buying a comic when I was at my old job, and I left there March 2008. 40 issues at one a month?!? That's just silly! I've completely lost interest in the comics.
