I'm still kind of sad that she died, but this is Buffy and I know that favorite characters get killed. She's not the only one to ever get killed off and that helps to makes me ok with it.

I think that going from where she was in season 3 running from the apocalypse to live to staying to fight even though it meant her death in season 7 was great character development for her.

It was sooo fast...i was like WTF?!

I think it was just a last min death kill. They were like 'we need to kill someone...this is ending too nicely.ANYA! yea yea yea good idea!'

>.> Not even long as dramtic random girl singing Greek opera in the backround or like have the scoobies go back and get the body...nahhh

(Is there na Anya icon?! o.o)

to be honest i was a bit 'meh' really...

the death scene was alright and it felt fitting with her character... but Anya never really clicked with me as a character anyway... so it wasn't something i was overly bothered about

I was ultimatly crushed when I saw Anya's character sliced and diced that way. it was heart braking in a way. Her character had grown on me so much since season 3. I love how much she grew to love and care. Her & Xander was one of my favorite couple of the entire Buffyverse, I wanted them to end with a happy ending in a way. And if she had to die i thought they could have done it better than just bam she sliced in half it'sa over. I hated that, and will admit cried alot for her. She was a great character and will always be missed 🙁

I was shattered that we never got to see Xander saying his goodbye to her. I really don't care about how the rest of the group mourned her, but it would have been nice to see Xander and maybe Giles paying their respects to Anya's memory.

Yeah, I really do think Giles grew to love her as a daughter like he did with Buffy and Willow...
I was expecting someone to die in that fight. It was an epic battle and everyone fighting in it was is very real danger. I was sad to see Anya die (she was one of my favorite characters) and I wish Xander could have been there by her side when she died but I think it was well written and I thought it made the ending stronger.

I thought it was really fitting for her. She spent a thousand years only living among humans, always better, stronger, more powerful. And in all those thousand years, she never understood what it was really like to be a human. Not once she became a vengeance demon; Aud was gone, or at least repressed. Season Seven was largely about her coming to grips with mortality, this time on her own terms. She fights in the final battle because she knows it's right this time. She's not tied to Xander anymore, or really any of the Scoobies, but she's certainly not running either. I thought her death was a really stunning ending to her arc. Maybe I'm a bit of an idealist, but I really like her final "human" (read: mortal) moment. 🙂

I feel like more should have been for her death I mean at least a more emotional reaction from Xander and even all of the Scoobies reactin to Spike and Anya I mean both of them fought by their sides for years and helped in many years. Her death made me cry and I want an apperance from her in S9

I liked it, it felt very real. I mean, it was a war, and a reality of war is that many people die abruptly. They get no perfect moment with loved ones, they're just there one moment, and then gone. So in that sense, I understand where Joss was coming from artistically.

While I chose "Happy with it", I didn't really care for Xander's "stupid thing" line and thought he was generally too cheery in the last scene. I realize his grief was dealt with somewhat in the S8 comic, but in Chosen, the way he dealt left me flat.

To be honest I think that was Xander just being Xander, you could tell when he said that line that he was fighting an inner battle not to break down crying. So he dealt with the news the only way Xander could: by putting on a brave face and uttering a snappy one liner. 😉

TBH I thought Willow was going to bite the dust.

I'm so glad you were wrong!
I was rather upset when Anya was killed just like that. But it concerned me that only Andrew and Xander were the only two that really paid attention to her death.
Anya became a quick favorite for me, so it hurt me when I saw her get sliced just so fast. We last saw her just lying there in the rubble, and swallowed up. I hope Anya makes an appearance in S9. Either revived, a spirit, or even in a friskies dream!

We Anya lovers need the Anya.

I like the fact the Anya died (morbid much?) in battle. I'd be pissed off it was just some random vampire that happened to get lucky. if you're going to kill off a 1000 year old ex vengeance demon, then make sure she goes out fighting for her life. She could have ran and she didn't. That made it all worth it. Andrew wasn't lying when he said she died a hero. Plus I totally loved the thing about bunnies at the end. She faced her fear. Anya is awesome 😀

I was both happy and sad. I was happy that "Chosen" was realistic, in a battle that large it would seem fake for no one to die. I was sad that Anya had to die since she was one of my favourite characters on the show, I loved how funny she was and Emma Caulfield was perfect

I think Buffy had too much going on in her head to care about Anya and that point. She just watched her love sacrifice himself for her and for the ones she loved and there was just so much emotion going on with her she probably didn't even remember Anya existed. I hated the way they killed Anya it was so violent and quick, it only made it better knowing she wasn't afraid because of the whole bunnies moment.

As for everyone else, I think they all had alot to worry about, Willow had Kennedy to think about and be happy for. Giles probably felt like an asshole for trying to get Spike killed earlier because without him the world would have been destroyed.

Dawn....idk where she even was or how she survived the fight really, if anyone should really be concerned it should have been dawn because I felt she probably cared most about Xander at that specific moment...

I always believed the only Scoobie who really cared for Anya was Xander, I mean no one really cared when Anya died and I don't think anyone noticed, which was very sad to see since Anya is one of my favourite characters in the entire series

Yeah I agree. I mean I think they liked her and they cared because Xander cared but I don't think they ever really cared about her apart from her being Xanders girlfriend. Which I guess I understand but I find sad cause I loved Xander.

Although I think Andrew really liked her lol 😀

I think Giles grew to love her as a daughter too... some what... even though that had that time with making out... but yeah
I put mad, because Anya was one of the few characters who still had alot left to give, Willow's story ended in season 6, Xanders story ended similarly. It seems a bit bizarre to kill off, and in such an abrupt way, the character who would have probably added the most to the future seasons in the comics, although I've not read these yet so I can't really be a judge on that point. I do get though why some of the others didn't show much emotion for her dying, partly yes they weren't that close to her, I mean how often do Buffy and Anya have a heart to heart, and we all know about the Anya, Willow rivalry. But also, season 7 ended right in the aftermath of this event where Anya died, they hadn't really had time to put it in perspective.

I am still screaming WHY OH GOD WHY at my tv when I see it , she was so lovable and cute , I mean couldn't have Kennedy died instead? Why did Amanda have to die she was so cool.

I am still hurt over the death of Anya 🙁 ! , it had to be someone though but Anya is one of my faves she just makes me laugh so much 😀 .

I was gutted when Anya was killed...and Kennedy lived!
