How I Met Your Mother season 6

Great episode, the huge emotional bit at the end came out of nowhere which made it feel worse.

Was it Joss that said in the commentary for the Body that having Aly cry was always good because she always nails it? she really does, when she got out of the Taxi her face looks so sad, that was a great moment between the two.

Anyone notice the countdown throughout the episode to the final moment, it starts at 50 and all the numbers are on random things down to 1, (0001 being the number of the Taxi Lily got out of), that was cool.

It was like this episode tried to secretly hint that this episode was counting down to the moment that we find out
that Marshall's father dies.

It was cool, but I haven't noticed it until 26, LOL.
 
Wow, this episode was just brilliant. This is why I loved HIMYM in the early seasons, and it's why I love it again now.

Equally heartbreaking as it was hillarious, I thought Jason Segel acted his arse off in that final scene (and the entire way through), and it was something I didn't know he would be capable of. I knew Alyson could deliver, but Jason was the one that had me reaching for the tissues here.

I really enjoyed the Robin side storyline. Of course I loved seeing the always sexy
Alexis Denisof (yes even with that hysterical comb over)
make an appearance. I loved the moment where she decided to
steer into the ice, and put on her sparkles jacket. Robin sometimes can seem so self involved and self important sometimes that it was nice to see her let go and embrace her past. Also, that montage of all her little 'mishaps' was EXCELLENT! I was in hysterics because I had forgotten about so many of them!

I can't wait for the next episode and I really hope they can deliver an equally excellent follow up episode. I want to see Barney serious. If they take the easy way out and make Barney 'comic relief' I will be really disappointed. I want to see the Barney that bought Lily a ticket home from San Fran, not stupid Barney.

I agree with the Barney stuff. I knew they were going to take it back to the early years... I hope they continue doing that.
I agree. I think we'll probably see more of serious Barney in the inevitable upcoming episode that deals with his father.

I must say, I really liked the new episode. Was sorta a bit more back to the roots, with a story building up like that.
And
I don't mind the Zoey thing...we know she's not the mother, but Ted is a relationship guy, so finally he's going steady with someone again. So that's good.

Didn't mind seeing Katy Perry either. "Oh honey" hahaha

Hope the season continues like this!

How much Katy Perry is in the new episode? I absolutely hate her, and flat out refuse to watch her on HIMYM, so if I'm fast forwarding the absolute entire thing I might do something very different and just miss the episode (strange feeling for me since I've seen every episode 5-10 times!).

Any word on how many more episodes she'll be in? Seems sad that I have to miss my favourite TV show because they have a cheap, disgusting slapper on it 🙁

She isn't in much and they don't make a huge deal out of it. I didn't even know she was Katy Perry until I came on the internet after watching it. She's just a regular guest star.
She plays a major role towered the end but I don't think she will ever be in it again so your safe. Ad you might wanna watch it cause they make her look like a complete idiot

They'll probably last the rest of this season and maybe a little next but j don't see it any longer thanthat cause it's so obv she isn't the mother 🙁 I wish she was I like her
 
I don't like the
Zoey/Ted pairing
. Being a Zoà« it gets really annoying. I have an uncommon name so when I hear it I ALWAYS feel like someone's talking to me because it's very uncommon for me to hear it when they're talking to or about someone else. I want her to go away.
and the writers kind of pissed me off last night with that joke "what kind of name is Zoey?" I mean it's like "yeah, what kind of person spells it Zoey, but the name is a fantastic name that I love very much. I know Ted didn't mean it but still. I don't like her character very much and I don't think she's deserving of my name and then Ted insults my name.
I'm just really in love with and protective of my name.
 
I didn't really get the "What kind of name is Zoey?" comment. Is it an uncommon name in America? I know several Zoes and Zoeys.

Anyway, I don't really have any opinion on
Ted/Zoey
one way or the other. The problem with Ted's relationships is that we know that every one of them is not the mother, so there's no real interest there. Every one of Ted's romances is automatically a Shaggy Dog Story.
