How was your day 2: Electric Boogaloo

I hope everybody has been enjoy their Easter.🐇

I've had a very relaxing day of working on the ukulele I am building. I got it all strung up and it sounds pretty good. Now all I have to do it some final sanding and prep work before I put on the finish. Not sure if I'm going to stain it or leave it natural and just put a clear coat on it.

Just had my neighbour over for a cuppa and we reminisced over horseriding accidents. Found out that one of the men who shaped my horse riding life died a few months back.

I used to go work on his farm over summers as a teen, taking tourists for horse rides and pulling calves on the Heifer farm. I was just looking him up yesterday wanting to see if I can book a ride, but now I know why I couldn't find his number! He had a hard life (was an orphan christian brothers boy) and heavy smoker. Its no surprise that he died, more a surprise that he lived and worked so long! But it is a loss to the world, especially for horse kids like me as he gave us a great horse experience.

His farm was a dream, lined with karri forrest, super fertile land (I now know that all the land was poisoned years ago and no longer allowed to hold eating beef but was allowed for breeding animals, and horses). There was no time there, we never did anything by a clock. By nightfall we were all exhausted and ready to sleep, at daybreak we were raring to go. I wonder what will happen to his horses. He did have adult children and had sold off the beef part of the farm years ago.

I want to ride again before its too late.

This weather put me in a crochet mood! I have started making a bunny toy/blanket thing for a preggers friend. Geriatric preggers friend haha, shes older than me!

Now that I have done the bunny head, I wish I had used different, softer, yarn for it. I love the yarn I am using, for me, but for a baby it might be a bit scratchy. I may have time to try again, but dont want to restart incase I don't!

Today my doctor TRIED to give me a two week supply of my pain medicine earlier, saying I needed to come in every two weeks for a refill. Ha! I don't think so!! I wasn't about to accept that, and was very vocal about it. So he relented and gave me a month's supply just so I'd go away. We both knew that he only wants me to come in every two weeks so he could bill my insurance for more office visits.

He's used to dealing with patients who never question him. After all these years, he should KNOW I'm not like that. He's beyond annoying, and I'd like to find another doctor; but with the crackdown on prescription painkillers, I'd NEVER find someone who'd give me as many drugs as he does. 🥳 So, I put up with his moodiness and unprofessionalism.

Sometimes I actually feel sorry for him. Why? Well, whenever he sees me waiting for him in the exam room he looks SO defeated. Like an inmate walking towards the gas chamber. 😄 He's already half-heartedly tried to drop me as a patient (via letter) but that didn't work. He knows that I'd move heaven and earth to have his license yanked if he stopped giving me my medicine. Mind you, I have SO much on this dude. Like seeing him accept cash from pharmaceutical reps, among other things. Yeah, BIG no no!

In other news, I'm STILL too lazy to make Hamburger Helper. I might dash over to Del Taco later, and get tacos or nachos. 🌮

Too lazy to cook. Been there! 😳 True work story... Guy with a rather large pot belly came up to my register.
Based on his clothes & demeanor I figured he'd have a good sense of humor.
So I asked him 'what trimester he was in?' Judging from his face, boy was I wrong. 😏
After he left my line he went to speak to the manager standing nearby.
He told him that I said something unprofessional er something. Manager asked what I had said.
He reiterated my joke, and the manager tried too hold in his laugh, but was unsuccessful.
He halfheartedly told me to 'be more professional'. 🙃 I replied I guess I misjudged my audience.
After they left, he told me that it was lucky he had just finished swallowing or the customer would've been covered in granola 😀

My dad would hate that joke too, he has a pot belly from heart issues, but his generation see any health problem as personal failure. They are very sensitive about it being pointed out as obvious to everyone.

The docs are the same here ABS, asking people to come in more often for prescriptions so they can bill medicare AND the patient and then cry that they are overworked. I hate them. They are the gate keepers to everything. Major medicare issues going on here now. They are even running ads on tv to tell people to take their medicines. Many have just stopped because of GP costs and the hospital system is overrun.

Harmony wants to snuggle and lick my face but shes so muddy! Weird weather today. Both dogs need walkies for my serenity but its cold and wet.

he was 30-ish?
My day is chaos without a walk in the morning! I really thought we could go later in the day but there hasnt been any gaps in the rain. It wouldnt be so bad if we were acclimatised to it, but its dropped so suddenly, all the pets are cold. I am not gona take the poodle out in this. The lhasa apso could handle it, but she stinks worse when shes wet!

Didnt get creative writing assignment resutls back.

Waiting is making me anxious. I know I won't get the top grades so I hope I can get it over with.

My dad came to visit yesterday. He thinks I am lazy and retarded, and they wonder why I wont give them grandchildren 🤣

I took him to a meeting with me cos I figured if he saw all the men in ties, he would not lock me up in a psych ward for praying with them. He was super impressed. Raved about it all afternoon. My grandfather was a big wig in the uniting church and dad hadnt ever seen a bible study like that before.

So now I am more relaxed about joining that congregation as I thought he might get me locked up for it (especially since my stepsister is a man now and that obvs goes against my current religion). He took a bunch of literature so it wont take him long to see how simplistic it is, but it has to appeal worldwide to all education levels, so I love it for being so inclusive.

Its just like my work at riding for the disabled but with god instead of ponies. I see the cycle. And I dont really care that Im doing it again, I like the sheltered aspect and these guys do not work me nearly as hard as rda did! Still a while off any true commitment anyway.

Xander rabbit is being a total daredevil and he is too old to be a daredevil! I need to change their rabbit run today so he doesn't break his back, again!

My day was okay. It turned cold again here with the temp not getting above 40F. I acted like it was going to rain but didn't see a drop. It was a good day to stay in and work on the new music project I started, working up a cover of an old song I always liked. Got a lot done. 🎶

I replaced the fuse in my Boogaloo and it still doesn't work..... Now what?⚡

The true sign of spring is here - the first Miata meet of the new year. There were some interesting ones there - two of the cars had Corvette LS aluminum engines, 6-speed Camaro transmissions and Cadillac final drives. The Corvette drivetrain is in a car that weighs 600 pounds less than a Corvette, perfect for jousting with traffic on Highway 401. Another car had a turbocharger and a supercharger with the turbo giving smooth efficient power and the supercharger giving instant response. Good times for everyone with about 40 cars showing up.

I have to admit that autumn is here too. Everything is greening up again after a dry summer. Its comforting and pretty.

First day back of the last term.

It's gone so fast. My hair is much longer than it was at the start of the course.

One guy had a drone that was taking pictures at the Miata meet yesterday and this is the first picture he published:

Several of the Miata's here are a third of a century old and still being used as daily drivers.
