I spent an HOUR trying to fix my futon. The metal frame wouldn't slide back into the sitting position. But after three screws unexpectedly popped out, my fingers were caught in the hinges. And yeah, it hurt like hell. Time to buy a new futon!

Why a futon? We slept on them and trundle beds a lot as kids. I never want to see one again haha.

Day has just begun here. About to go walkies. Need to do some cleaning today, as usual. Remind me to vacuum!

Well, I spend a lot of time in the living room watching TV and blasting music. I like how it transforms from a couch to a bed. But now the frame is wrapped in duct tape and propped up with a chair so it doesn't collapse again. Looks ghetto af but appears to be somewhat stable. For the moment, anyway! 😅

I want scrambled eggs, two hash browns, and Spam. Ooooh, such comfort food! Biscuits would be a nice addition as well.

Its all going on in town today! The water went off and it wasnt due to go off until tomorrow. So I went up to the shire office to see what's going on. They had a notice, they've shut the shire office cos they cant work if they dont have toilets that flush. Everyone had gone home.

There was a trailer with boxes of bottled water out the front with a note to help yourself Most were gone but I got one box. Im glad I took my car! There would be no water left if I had to walk home to get it. Hurt my back in the scramble but at least I have water now 🙂 I did have 4L for the planned 2 day outage but add an extra day of no town water and it would be pushing it if adult humans are supposed to drink 2L a day. Hopefully the oldies got some, their cars are gone so I havent gone to check on them.

Plus, there's a bushfire somewhere towards the lookout. Everything is still quite dry so I hope there is enough water around to get it under control. Its not big so no one is worried.

feeling terrible physically speaking today and I have to go and have a pretty invasive test done tomorrow (which I'm super anxious about) so I've had better days 🤣 but, it's okay, I'm going to bribe myself by going out for a nice coffee tomorrow!

I don't know if this is a cold or flu, but it won't go away. It's been two weeks since I first got sick...and it definitely sucks. I'm staying home and shopping for a couch, now that my futon is literally falling apart. Seriously, I now have two milk crates and a suitcase propping up the frame from underneath. Hey, necessity is the mother of invention! 😅

Glorious and cool on the patio today! Puppies are lovin it less. Lilah has her little jumper on and shes still shaking, but I love these mild crisp mornings 😀

oh my god, it isn't even noon yet but I've had a helluva day already 🤣

so first of all, I was so anxious about this freaking test that I haven't slept, like, at all. I went to the doctors to do the test and, you'll never believe it, they couldn't do it today. so I've had to reschedule for another time. I took the morning off work, worked myself up and had a sleepless night for nothing.💀 still got my coffee, though, double shot of espresso because jeez I need it today 🤣

I've been in a weird mood all day. Blaming the Eclipse. And maybe coffee since I've been on that since running out of tea.

Pulled down all the duck fencing to try and fence off the driveway from the dogs. Did not go well. And the dogs were very upset. Chopped down some ivy, but so much more to do on that. So much. Want to rearrange the bunny pen tonight so that Xander is in the warmer pen at night.

Kitchen is a pigsty. Doesnt matter how much I clean it, I still gotta clean it again tomorrow. I want some time off cooking!

One guy had a drone that was taking pictures at the Miata meet yesterday and this is the first picture he published:

Several of the Miata's here are a third of a century old and still being used as daily drivers.

It is one of my dreams to see and drive a classic vehicle. As I got older, I realized more and more that my interest in how life was in the past grew. I watch all kinds of videos from the 17th century and how people lived back then. It makes me feel both grateful and interested in their life at that time.

I duno, sometimes life seems better for people past. The current Alone AU series had a bunch of aboriginal people tap out first because they rekon their people would never leave another alone without food or water in those conditions so of course they couldn't survive alone. Seems todays world is much more individualistic and although we have the mod cons, has it improved? I guess its hard to know. Whats that thing they say? History is written by the winners?


Another glorious cool morning here today. Blue skies so it will warm up. I loved the eclipse yesterday. It dropped the temp about 10C. I would like to order an eclipse for those hot summer days.

Gotta run some pears to my neighbours and limes to the pub. I dont have the energy to be super social today so I hope no one is home and I can leave them on the doorstep haha.

The weather has been warmer than usual, so I basically hid out at home with fans on. Kept the blinds and windows closed (which I normally don't do!) It was pretty awesome, like being in my own little demented world. 😅

I shaved Harmonys face and both dogs hate me now. Lilah keeps sniffing at harmony like "dude, are you ok?" And keeps staring at her face. She does look really different with no hair over her face. Looks very cranky, not like her happy fluffy face!

I want to wash both dogs this weekend and there was no way i was going to be able to get harmony dry with all that hair. Lilah needs a hair cut too. Im thinking i'll just shave her completely for ease. She has plenty of jumpers and its not super cold yet, by the time it is, her hair will have grown back and can grow out til spring.

Chopped some more branches in the yard today. Not gona over do it today. Back is still out from hauling that water and its really annoying.

I got the dogs washed 😀 now they are sleeping soundly, all nice and clean. Harmony needs a good brush as she matts badly after a wash, but Im gona let her have a rest first. They get the mad zoomies after a bath. It will be good once my lawn is established to let them run it off under the sun. Its still black dust. For now they slip and slide on the patio. Lilah uses her litter box to call "safe" from harmony when they run haha.


Im so hungry but have a toothache wahh. All I want to eat is cheese. Doesnt set the toothache off too badly.

The trial acting class went well and was fun. Met some cool people. The course is very expensive though so I will have to find drop in sessions elsewhere.

Started the fire today. It started a lot easier than I remember it being! I wonder how easily I can keep it going haha. Its not really really cold yet but a drop from 28C yesterday to 13 today and the whole week the nights are gona be below 5C so i figured I should just get it going and hope I can find more wood later in the year. I have so much chopped kindling now, but a lot wont be ready to use until next year.

Teeth are not good, but still ate a lot today. Roast lamb with potato and pea bake and cake and jam for dessert. The dogs are having some lamb and blueberries in their kongs now. Bunnies will wake up soon and discover all the boxes that were on top of the fireplace, now make a maze in their day pen.

The answer is 5 cents. If the bat costs a buck more than the ball and the total is 1.10, then the ball has to be 5 cents. The bat costs 1.05... a buck more than the ball at 5 cents. For a total of $1.10
