How was your day today?

this is what I use

Its more for spot cleaning... but cleaned the sides and tailgate three times and only used half a bottle. You just need some microfiber towels. Spray it on, wait a few seconds and wipe. It does a really good job. Can probably get maybe 6 car 'washes' for less than the price of one. Especially when you don't need a 'full' car wash.

Prolly takes 5 minutes or less. Honestly, the stuff is great, and well worth it.
Yeah, it usually takes me at least 30-45 minutes to wash my truck. Mainly because it's a large vehicle AND I'm obsessive about every square inch being shiny. So for sure I'm gonna try that waterless stuff.

My girlfriend and I went to the Grand Luxe, the place we met, for a dance on Saturday night. When you go in, you pay your $20 (each) and you get a little wrapped square of chocolate. They put down two squares of chocolate and I said, "Those are mine, she gets hers" so we both got two squares. The next day, I changed out of my dance pants and put everything from the dance pants into my regular pants and they go in my left rear pocket along with my comb. Last night when I was transferring everything back to the dance pants, I pulled this mass out of the left rear pocket and found that the chocolate had escaped the wrapper and flowed into the teeth of my comb. I had to use my toothbrush to get it all out of my comb and had to wash it all out of the teeth. So I butt-dialed my chocolate and it escaped? Just my luck.

I was thinking about writing a book entitled "Tales from the Dance Floor" but the characters I run into would be too bizarre to be believed. The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense. This book would make no sense.

I made a grilled cheese with ham and two eggs. Four pieces of cheese. Oh. My. God. It was so good! It's great when you eat something you've been craving.

Oh. It seemed better before I saw the photo haha.
Made grilled cheese today too, but just one slice of cheese. Did have it with bowl of tomato soup, though 🙂

My sincerest commiserations to you @Plasma at having such a small TV, it looks the same size as the screen for my computer.

That is an odd collection, Star Wars, Toy Story and Back to the Future. Makes me wonder if you like my fan fic as well - as if!

Slow day today. The rain plunged the ph in my pond so I have been tinkering with that most of the morning. Left my phone inside and missed a visit from friends. Whoops. The dogs did bark but I told them to shut up instead of looking to see of someone was at the door hah.

Pond ph is rising now so hopefully right by the next test. The fish seem happy. Still more rain to come. Only one dog got walked. Big brown lab and its kelpie friend raced out across the street at us. I yelled loud and they got scared off. Im not taking the other dog out in this wind and bits of hail.

One of the retired horses sliced its leg in a fence the other day. They put it down and is body is still down the bottom of the property where it dropped. I guess there arnt many knackeries anymore to take them anymore. I haven't been out there since saying good bye to my fave who is off to the city to race. The broodmares will take his paddock and there will be foals again soon.

Dogs are cuddled up with me now after a lunch of steak, eggs and broccoli. TV doesnt want to work and the internet barely does either but Im not in the mood to read or nap either. Even the kitchen is clean!

One of the things about being born under the sign of Leo is that there are calendar dates when you can feel the change to a new sign coming. The first sign that we were now in Virgo is a gum infection flared up. Some changes are unwelcome.

But the next sign was last night - someone filed a complaint about the outdoor dances that we held every Friday night at Lakefront Promenade and everything came to a halt with the police presence. Apparently we have to get a $$$ permit to allow us to continue. The complaint most likely came from the marina to the north of us. The officer explained that the park is for the enjoyment of everyone but when I asked how one person could ruin the enjoyment for over a hundred people, he just smirked. We will se how many friends we have on city council during the coming week. There are other venues open to us but they can be expensive and some of them are either dead or they suck for one reason or another.

That's strangely coincidental, because two of my teeth recently flared up...and I'm pretty sure one has an abscess. The pain is SO much worse at night. Orajel helps a little, but I have to smear a lot of it on my gums for it to work.

My internet is still unusably slow. Thought about going down to a meeting in person rather than on zoom but its hard to justify using the petrol for just that one thing.

I do need some new pants, but nothing is open on a Sunday so I should save my petrol for a day that it is. I wish they had winter Sundays open as well as Summer Sundays! They only open on summer Sundays because of Christmas and that's when I want to avoid the decorations the most! I dont want to order pants online cos the sizes are rarely right. Grr if only the hardware store sold pants, then it'd be fine. They are open on a Sunday and I can always find something else I need there.

I have Ora-jel but I have found the pain is from inflammation, so I use extra-strength Tylenol which tends to bring the inflammation down. I did use Ibuprofen, but that raises blood pressure too much for my liking. If you go to a dentist, they will just yank the tooth, because that is what brings in the bucks.

I don't have dental insurance anymore ☹️
I have never used Ora-jel, mainly because I had never heard of it, that and I found a cure for all my dental problem aches!
It was and is called cancer, then a crap dentist broke several of the remaining teeth and the broken bits came through my gums over the following five years. That saved me getting false teeth, so I spent the money on cheap TV's, don't you think I am so lucky huh?

It looks like the permit to dance at Lakefront Promenade will cost $170. But it might be possible to beat the system. If we register with the Mississauga Community Group Registry which then allows us to be eligible for Community Grant Program funding. We could register as a non-profit organization and be fast-tracked as a multicultural organization (Latin dance) but this will take time and probably money as the city has undertaken some expensive programs lately and they are desperate for cash.

$170 might be cheaper in the long run, especially if split among all the members! This is becoming the plot to Footloose. Let the kids dance!

Better yet, if you go for a swim and wait for the sea levels more than they have you could float onto the lakefront promenade and avoid the $170 cost.
The board's Discord says this:

But if we were under the influence, we probably wouldn't know. 😅

I just got back from urgent care because the pain was driving me crazy. No, they're not a dental place but they'll see you despite that. Turns out I DO have an abscess in the upper tooth, and they gave me an antibiotic...plus a few codeine pills, thank God.

The problem with America is ever since the "opioid crisis" it's VERY difficult to get medication like that. Doctors are afraid to prescribe it because they're afraid someone will overdose and they'll lose their license. Problem with that is, this situation has caused an even bigger crisis...more people are dying because they're buying pills off the street. And many times those pills are mixed with fentanyl, which is 50-100 times stronger than morphine. People think they're buying hydrocodone from a dealer, so they take four or five of them, but it's actually fentanyl. You can die from ONE fentanyl pill.

The asshats who decided to severely limit pain pill prescriptions have created an even WORSE opioid crisis: death.

All of my posts pre 2019 were posted while on drugs. Now they are just posted on brain damage. Not sure which is worse... Lol

Really! What an excuse! As if you need the pain to drive you crazy . . . . . was that subtle enough for you?
Very windy day. Its so nice to live in a place that doesn't move with the wind 😂 my house feels so solid. I love it! Not so nice to walk in the wind. Lots of branches blowing around. Its very loud outside. Saw my neighbour while out on walkies, and he wanted me to compliment his new fence. It is a pretty nice fence.

My friend popped in for a cuppa and a chat while the poodle slept on my lap. Had a big lunch after that. Then spent the afternoon playing with my pond again. I swear my goldfish have grown in a week! They were tiny, about an inch big, now they are closer to 3 inches. I didn't know they could grow that fast. The water is all murky from the rainfall, but its testing fine.

Bank Holiday today, so will finish work early and spend a few hours at the allotment. Hopefully it'll have dried out a bit and I can get lots done.

Oh you lucky person you, to have enough money to put money in the bank to bother if the bank has a holiday . .
Oh my God, that antibiotic I took last night has actually stopped the tooth pain. I'm actually amazed! I'll be taking it three times a day for a week. It never occurred to me that an antibiotic could kill the pain so quickly!

Do not think about the pain that was or it might be the pain that is.

There's no good side to this, because the other side of the coin was the vast overprescribing of oxy in a quasi "legal" way. One county in West Virginia had "doctors" prescribing and local "pharmacies" distributing 3 MILLION oxy tablets a year. For comparison, the population of the entire county was under 30k. That would be 100 tablets/year for every man, woman, and child (including infants) in the county.

I used quotes above because you had people who were technically doctors (often former prison doctors) literally working out of an old animal feed store writing prescriptions for anyone who showed up. The pharmacies in question took cash only and asked no questions.

it's the same model used by Viagra and similar drugs today. Some want to ban abortion drugs and the morning after pill. TOTAL number of abortion related deaths from 2011- 2020? 42. Number of Viagra and related drugs? 50 per 1 millon prescriptions, so about 1 in 20k. But it's incredibly easy to get Viagra.

I actually won a bet with a friend over this. They thought it was hard. I called a number. Spoke to a doctor (or claimed they were one anyway) for 5 minutes, and they were getting ready to send me a prescription (from the same company incidentally) when I told them I changed my mind.
