How Was Your Day?

Time for a ritual sacrifice?

The Latin dance circuit has presented me with a lot of laughs since I joined in late September, but last night had a couple of moments that will go down in my own personal history.

One of the things I never liked about some of the dances is that if you ask a girl to dance, she may say, 'I'm just taking a break' then ten seconds later, someone else asks and she is up dancing with him. Last night, it worked in my favour. Someone asked one girl I know to dance as I was headed back to my seat. I arrived about ten seconds later and asked her to dance and she sprang right up and sprinted to the floor with me. While I was dancing with her, she said, "You are the best dancer on the floor tonight." As the place was packed with about 600 people, most of them a lot more skilled than me, I remembered Xander's words as Anya complained about men then asked him to the prom: "One of us is very confused and right now, I don't know which one of us it is."

The next one may not be appropriate by some standards, but when you get a crowd of that many people, some of them are bound to be violators of propriety. One of the girls there was a good - but salacious - dancer. You couldn't help but notice her. She was about 5'5", had a pretty face, D-cup, tight waist and nice legs and she could dance, but always in the most suggestive manner. She had on what looked like a beige satin dress, but a closer look showed that it was just a slip. She wasn't wearing a dress of any kind over it. One of our team of bachata boys was dancing with her and there is a move where the guy bends her backwards over his knee. She drew the upper leg up and I and the girl I was dancing with could see all the way up one leg and down the other - she had no panties on. What kind of a girl comes to a Christmas dance commando and only in a slip? One of the organizers came by and the girl I was dancing with told him about the girl showing off her intimate parts and his answer was a completely deadpan:

"I'll look into it."

I burst out laughing. If you heard laughter coming from the Toronto area last night, that was me. We had been "looking into it" on a couple of occasions.

Yesterday was a crowded day for me because before I went to the dance, there was a gathering of people from a company I worked for from 1980 to 1997 and even though the company has passed through two other companies, we still remain loyal to our old company. That took up from 3:00 PM until I left at 4:30 to pick up my son-in-law from work then get myself put together for the dance. I left the dance at 12:38 AM (technically, today) and slept until the dog interrupted me at 3:00 AM and then again at 5:00 AM. When one woman came by who had been in finance and asked what division I worked in, my old director said, "We kept him locked up in a cage in the back. He's too dangerous to be let loose." And a legend is born. But that dance (see two posts above was epic!

I just relaxed today.

Had some drama this week that could grow, but I don't feel like talking about it.

I was just relaxing when I came across an apparently once popular song called Unholy. This was the "metal version" that had the pic of a woman with bat wings, and at first I thought it was about some mad warlock whose wife would leave him if she realized he mummified corpses (I confused the British "mummy" with the Egyptian one) and brought them to life violating the laws of man and nature and science.

But then I realized it was actually about a married man who was a sugar daddy on the side, so I lost interest (not because it offends my moral sensibilities--though that would be even more hilarious if that were the case--but because it was boring). 😀

I may have to watch some Buffy now to get my actual unholy fix. 😛

Handling someone's estate is seriously overrated. Grief, mixed with stress, and just a constant flow of things to do... I hate life right now.

Tip to everyone, do the Swedish Death Clean, so whoever handles your estate does NOT have to drown in useless paperwork from the 80's, an obscene amount of toothpicks, and other misceallaneous but ultimately redudant stuff you've collected over the years.

It took me a year to settle my wife's estate. Constant thoughts of 'am I missing something?'
The best thing I have taught my poodle is to find my phone. SO handy! I want to teach her to pick things up off the floor for me next, now shes outgrown the puppy brain, it wont become a game of chase.

The lhasa apso knows how to find the "bin" at the park after I pick up her poop, she leads me straight to it!

"outgrown puppy brain" oh... how I long for that. Almost 3 now and still very VERY much puppy brain, sigh.
So tired. Yesterday evening was a buffet at mine for friends Christmas present swap. This morning was breakfast and present swapping - got a cool mug that is Metallica - And Coffee For All 😀

Waiting for ASDA to turn up then Abbs off to hairdressers before her birthday tomorrow!

Nobody gets presents this year. Except for me. Everything I buy will be for ME. Screw everyone else. 😄
See. That is just the wrong attitude to have. Seriously.

You get everyone cheap ass little $2 trinkets that you find at a gas station then whip out all the cool stuff you got for yourself. Just getting yourself something stings but it doesn't sting nearly as much as getting someone some utter cheap ass crap. That makes it all the more better.

No! Every penny will be spent on myself. ☠️

I finished most of my Christmas present shopping today and I bought some dinosaur stickers for myself so can't complain.

I decided to have a productive evening. I'm watching Supernatural and eating mince pies. I think I failed at the productive part.
You're being productive, by eating the money pies so that you have more space for other Christmas food!

the idea of cutting into a pie and having a bunch of money spill out excited me. that would be a cool little gift. have the pie filled with coins and what not. Like a british pinata.
