How Was Your Day?

You're being productive, by eating the money pies so that you have more space for other Christmas food!
Is that a typo or is there such a thing as money pies? Or if it's a common euphemism why are mince pies called money pies? Elaborate.

Sooo...I've had some big news earlier this week, and I kinda want to share it here since I'm still too afraid to share it with people in the real world (besides my boyfriend), but at the same time am really processing this and feel like I just need to say it out loud for it to be more real.

Found out on Monday that I'm pregnant. I'm just laughing at the timing, because looks like I'll be doing a move to a different city like this, which is of course perfect Murphy's law in a way. I'm still super afraid it's not going to stick, especially with all the moving stress coming up and now visiting family for Christmas, which is also bound to be stressful. But other than that, I was on a major high this week and just feeling great about the news!

Sending you good sticking thoughts, congratulations!
Really restful day today. The clouds certainly help slow the pace down. Its delightful. Spent the day gardening, walking, napping with puppies and doing crochet in front of The OA.

There was a thunderstorm!!!!! On the way home from a 10am appointment, the skies just opened up. It was coming down so fast, windshield wipers were absolutely USELESS. Plus, it got dark so suddenly! Then the sky lit up and a cracking, booming noise hit. Lovely! 🥰

Since the vast majority of LA drivers are complete idiots in the best of weather (no not me shut up lol) imagine the scene in a thunderstorm! Streets flooded, horizontal rain, darkish sky, lightening...and many of them were STILL speeding through yellow lights. It was crazy.

It really feels like one of those days in the "bush" today. No people sounds at all, the birds are making all the noise. Pale blues skies and the faint smell of bushfire in the air. Its lovely and relaxing.

Its been a real nice 3 days. The heat is still cooling off from yesterday, but we will go walkies soon. I made my own Chinese food yesterday and am still full, not even the dogs were that hungry for breakfast either! Hot days mean lots of treats inside haha. I finished off the icecream too. Now I am being hassled by puppies, so time to go!

I enjoyed my Christmas quite a bit. No family gathering, no drama, just a peaceful day listening to music and eating fried potatoes with scrambled eggs. An acquaintance dropped by and gave me 30 Oxycodone for Christmas. Oh my God, it was like winning the lottery. 😈 I was comfortably numb for several hours, in such a WONDERFUL mood. Recently I've been going through a lot of crap in my life, so I absolutely treasured those hours of sheer bliss that I experienced. I definitely needed it!!!! 🥰

Yesterday was boring and peaceful. Only saw Abbs at food run times lol, she was peopled out. Today will probably be much of the same but with a bit of housework and a couple of coffee times with friends.

Even though my sister is SUPER annoying and gives me a migraine every time she opens her mouth, I got her a Christmas gift. Yesterday, I put it on her doorstep and texted her to let her know. Well, 30 minutes later she texted me to say she couldn't accept it because I didn't call to wish her Merry Christmas. (I DEFINITELY didn't want to get her a damn thing, but I was trying to embrace the Christmas spirit) She left the gift on my doorstep an hour later. What a drama queen.

So I guess that was a self-fulfilling prophecy. You did buy it for yourself afterall.

Actually, I didn't. 😄 It was a last minute decision to get her something. In retrospect, I should've stuck to my original decision to only buy things for ME. I'm rather annoyed with myself, actually.

I ran out of milk 3 days ago and wont have any until my grocery order tomorrow arvo. I really, really miss milk! Haha. I swear my headaches are a milk deficiency! Milk near on cures them!

Its another cool day and I wanted to do a lot more in the garden. I have done pretty well but its lunch time now and without milk, I feel incomplete! Not sure how much more work I will get done. Its still spitting out there and the main jobs I need to do all use battery tools.

The dogs are being extremely cuddly, smotheringly so. At least the bunnies snuggle up to each other instead of squishing me!

Milk freezes well. It can be worth having a bottle in the freezer if you have space.
I bought a new DVD player off Amazon from a third-party seller that broke down after two months. I've been fighting first the seller, then Amazon for a refund ever since. Today, on my third call (yes, Amazon does have phone number!), eighth person, and second supervisor, they finally gave me a credit on my account. I hope they kick that seller off the site.

I was feeling very triumphant until my dad called and said his car broke down last night. It does seem like luck swings back and forth like that all the time!

Today I've been entertaining friends lol.... We had lunch at mine 12 - 4pm (no baileys as of yet)! Taken a few Xmas bits down but not everything. Now chilling a bit before doing dinner.

The dogs were begging to go to bed. Now that we are all in bed, they are whinging about it! I knew I should have finished that episode of tv before giving in to their demands. No doubt we will be up at 4.30 am again. Little shits (Harmony especially)
