How Was Your Day?

All 120 of us filed into the county court jury selection room and gave our credentials to the clerks and then we found out that the lawsuit we were scheduled to pass judgement on had been settled out of court. Over a dozen did not attend and they will be served a warrant to appear. Those of us who did attend are not eligible for jury duty for another three years.

Today ended in Y, much like yesterday and the day before that.

and yeah, people love to misappropriate the words of radical marxist doctor Martin Luther King Jr. It's a special skill possessed by the evil and the stupid in equal measure.
 
Lovely day today. It was cool in the morning so I got more gardening done than usual. Played with the dogs in the yard til it got too sunny. Made a lovely chicken salad for lunch which I am still full of. Been crocheting a light green shawl this arvo, in between puppy cuddles. Went out for another play in the yard, watered the garden and watched the trail of people walking from the pub with armfulls of booze in preparation for the public holiday tomorrow.

This town is so funny. There is some drama around Australia Day tomorrow, some people wanting the date changed, boycotting etc, so I have seen more aussie flags out and around town than I ever have before 😆
I used to love Australia Day but haven't bothered with it for years now, and wont again anyway. Its just funny that now its threatened, suddenly everyone has a giant flag out the front of their houses. My neighbours over the back fence have always had a flag they put up and take down every day, but the shire and police station have stopped putting up flags altogether. There is still one at the war memorial, but they only put it up on Anzac day and remembrance day. Will see if its up tomorrow!
 
Last night one of the dogs and one of the bunnies and myself all had coughing/sneezing fits at the same time. Its happened a number of times, all three of us choking at the same time. I assume its maybe because there is as atmospheric change and the dust settles then or something? Anyway I am in cleaning mode today.

Its been less than two months since my last cobweb clean and I was already sucking up generations of daddy long leg spiders with the vaccum again. The dust was thick and black above the door frames and I only last cleaned them at Christmas! The window sills are now white again, and I have all of the windows open to air out the place. Its so beautifully designed for the breeze, I just hope it doesn't get too hot today.

This house definitely gets way dustier way quicker than the last place, heck even worse than the (literal tool) shed I lived in. I knocked a piece of the wall off while wiping it down so now I have to figure out some way to glue that back on. I wasnt planning on a city run anytime soon so I'll have to see what I have in the shed. Gotta put another coat of oil on the front veranda too, I will look for that while I am in the shed.

No one won the powerball last night, so pls send hopes and prayers for me to win the 200mill next week 😉
 
I just received $300 because of a class action suit I was involved in. 😁 I'd totally forgotten about that case! The money popped up in my PayPal an hour ago and I was completely flabbergasted. Funny thing is, I borrowed $10 from an acquaintance this morning because I was so broke.

I've also noticed that when I try to be kind and not have evil thoughts, good things seem to happen. It's like the universe is trying to teach me something...honestly, it's rather spooky.

Gave the dogs a bath. The grot off the poodle!!! She lays out in the yard on the black dust of the driveway in the full sun. Usually the lhasa apso is the stinky one, but the poodle turned the water black! Its a good thing she loves baths cos she had a long one today!

Harmonys golden tail is in damp ringlets and it is absolutely adorable. Next up is trimming their faces and brushing out their tails. Harmony is great to clip her nails, but the poodle is a nut on springs so I just work on hers one at a time as she tolerates it. Bath time really tired them out. Its been a good day.
 
I'm still awake because of the shock of receiving $300, seemingly out of the blue. I'm terrible with money, but I'm going to TRY budgeting this newfound wealth. Sure, I've been on Amazon for an hour but that means nothing. 😈 And yes, I bought a few things, but I totally deserve it. I've been through a lot of crap in the last few months, and damn it, I'm going to treat myself! 🥳

I don't know if I can sleep, I'm too hyped. I HATE being awake all night, so I'll just hide under the covers and dream about winning a few million dollars. Then I can move somewhere with VERY few neighbours. Just me, a few kittens, some puppies, and a huge house with lots of trees around. And flowers. And a small pond. I need solitude.

Actually won Lucky For Life lotto 3 times this month! Only 2-3 (out of 6) numbers, though. Still an extra $30 in my pocket 🙂

Awesome!
I took out the fluorescent light over the kitchen sink and put in a modern LED light. The job was difficult but it is complete. The 18-watt LED light seems much brighter than the 15 watt fluorescent it replaced.
 
Not off to a great start. Got chased by two dogs from the pub to the post office. Luckily my dog was good and ran away quickly with me instead of engaging in any way. My other dog has a bit of an upset tummy today, we have a vet appointment for tomorrow.

I checked the weather for the day the power will be off and its forecast as 39C 🥵 I am terrified! It wont even drop below 20C the night before or after. I havent let myself get that hot because I know how sick I end up. I hope either the forecast is wrong or the power company decides they dont want to work in that heat either. They've picked the middle day of an "extreme" heatwave to turn a whole towns power out. I am gona have lots of booze bottles and cans to pick up once its over. Starting to believe this really is a hell dimension.
 
Microsoft has locked me out of my email account, but it's not an address I use to send email, just to receive ones from websites etc, however I still need to access it which they are making difficult for me.

Now the forecast is for 42C/107f for the day the power is out. I duno if the panic is caused by the migraine or the migraine is caused by the panic. I really hope the bunnies will be ok. I havent let it get over 32C in the house all summer.

Im gona have to wake up really early to get the garden all watered.
 
Feeling a bit down today because I remembered that I keep attracting and tolerating men with bad intentions and I can't figure how to stop. Sometimes I tell them I don't like them and everything but they keep interacting with me. Especially in the classroom when I have to see them everyday and we walk the same route home they are inescapable and make me uncomfortable. I tend not to have close friends on the course so because I am isolated I am an easier target.

Im sorry some men are like this :( can you join a study group or class club? Sometimes its reassuring to have people looking out for you.
