I forgot to add beets - they taste like something Lucifer would serve in hell. ๐Ÿคข
Broad Beans; rubbery and tasteless.

Courgette; like soggy tasteless cucumber.

Celeriac; what even is this! It tastes like rancid bum.

Personally I think people who don't like Brussel Sprouts just haven't eaten them cooked well (as in correctly). I remember at school they tended to get boiled to soggy death, but if (fresh sprouts) are cooked properly and seasoned a little then they're really good.

Nah, it is because they are definitely poisonous! I mean, people used to carve crosses into the bottom of them to ward off evil spirits. Maybe they're vampiric? ;D

However, I have heard that roasting them gives them a different flavour.

I don't like olives. I dont mind olive oil or even food that has had olives picked out (me and hubby order pizza with olives then i pick them off my half and give them (the preciousss) to him). Yes, i know we could order half with olives but this way he gets twice as many! The flavour adds something to the pizza...but for me, eating the actual olive? bleegggh! (to quote the slayer.)

I mostly don't like any fruit that is perfumey - lychees, starch mangoes, passion fruit.

I like most veggies. There are a few (celery) that i only eat cooked.

Certain things only are edible if cooked right:

Liver. Not over or undercooked. Or underseasoned.

Brussel sprouts (must be seasoned and not overcooked - roasted is good)

Okras. Mostly prefer them in dishes like calaloo, not by themselves.

I love lima beans, but they must be well cooked and well seasoned. European cooking does not do beans or peas well. Indian and caribbean cooking makes an art of it.
Just boiling them and serving them underseasoned would make me hate them. Too often peas are horribly overcooked, and beans, over or under and all are underseasoned.

Done right, you wont miss meat. And i love meat.

There's a place called the Tap & Vine in the US that doesn't delicious brussel sprouts, roasted with garlic and oil some other things; crispy heaven.
Might want to look into using an air fryer to cook them that way, maybe add finely chopped garlic, fennel and see how it turns out.

But I still maintain that if you don't overcook fresh Brussel sprouts and serve them with a lil' bit of butter then they can be great.

Frozen ones don't work though, I've tried every which way they just turn out bland- at best.

Some veg work frozen. Some do not.
Brussel sprouts - tiny little devil cabbage
Cauliflower - the over-the-top drama queen of the brassicas. Cauliflower steaks/rice...wtaf!

Any canned vegetables as they are nasty and mushy. My Mom used to make a salad using veg all canned vegetables, lettuce, and miracle whip. It was disgusting. Egg Plant, Lima beans or beans, Okra. That isnโ€™t my complete list.

Dunno mushy peas and carrots are only edible ones. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As a general rule, I hate brussels sprouts, but I have on rare occasion tasted some that were roasted and were pretty good.
Kale - don't like it cooked or raw.
Okra.
Onions - I actually like them, but they make me feel sick nowadays.

This thread is reminding me of when George H.W. Bush banned broccoli from the White House menu. When it got out and, of course, the broccoli industry objected, he just said, "I've never liked it, and I'm President now and I'm not going to eat it anymore!" Take that, Mom!

Saw someone making chicken soup on TikTok. they said "People are going to judge me for putting green beans in my soup".

My response, "I'd never judge you for putting green beans in your soup. I'd ABSOLUTELY judge you for putting CANNED green beans in your soup".

(The only thing we used canned green beans for is dog food).
