I don't like olives. I dont mind olive oil or even food that has had olives picked out (me and hubby order pizza with olives then i pick them off my half and give them (the preciousss) to him). Yes, i know we could order half with olives but this way he gets twice as many! The flavour adds something to the pizza...but for me, eating the actual olive? bleegggh! (to quote the slayer.)
I mostly don't like any fruit that is perfumey - lychees, starch mangoes, passion fruit.
I like most veggies. There are a few (celery) that i only eat cooked.
Certain things only are edible if cooked right:
Liver. Not over or undercooked. Or underseasoned.
Brussel sprouts (must be seasoned and not overcooked - roasted is good)
Okras. Mostly prefer them in dishes like calaloo, not by themselves.
I love lima beans, but they must be well cooked and well seasoned. European cooking does not do beans or peas well. Indian and caribbean cooking makes an art of it.
Just boiling them and serving them underseasoned would make me hate them. Too often peas are horribly overcooked, and beans, over or under and all are underseasoned.
Done right, you wont miss meat. And i love meat.
