Imagining BB members

Just some musings, but does anyone ever get a mental image of the other members on this board, or anywhere online for that matter? I know some people actually share images of themselves, but most people don't. I just wonder if our online personas ever call up certain images or types of people for others, and I wonder if it's ever an inflated, fantasy, or outright incorrect version of the person.

this should be interesting...
I've seen pictures or videos of some members on here. But usually I just picture what they have as their avatar image. Unfortunately I'm not sure hot and badass like Faith as my avatar would suggest. lol. I think our personalities help to conjure an image of someone as well.

'Ere 'ang on a mo'! Are you suggesting about my image of you being mental, how did you know that? As far as I'm concerned showing what I think a member looks like is okay but you should note that every member on the BB needs to be included.
That is similar to what I was told by the Boss, and I agree. I think we should all be considerate to all members.

There are thousands of members, most of whom I personally have never had any interaction with, so I don't think it's at all possible to do that here. As a side note, I don't mind someone telling me what they imagine I look like based on my BB persona, but I've got thick skin, and I'd be loathed to tell another member, in case I accidentally embarrass or insult them. I do come up with mental images, though, and pose this more in the vein of, does anyone else do this too?

I do too
I base gender off the avatars, and I think some people talk like a woman or a man. It's kind of hard to readjust when sometimes it's different to what I thought.
I tend to do the same. I also get an image of a person's posture too, probably more so than actual hair color or specific facial features. I think more in terms of friendly face vs unfriendly face, confident posture vs slumped posture, animated chatterer vs barely says a word in person, and so on.

I do get vibes off people but I don't have the imagination to picture all that 😄
@Moggin,
I didn't mean you should refer to every member, but that any member can take part and be included by every member. Personally I would add my view is made in fun.
About you basing your thoughts on if a person is male or female based on their avatars, please, don't include me.

Got it. 👍 I still hesitate to give my opinion, in case it isn't well received. And you can imagine me as completely mental all you want lol. It's probably true!

As for your Avatar, I won't lie, per my usual behavior, I have been imagining you as female!

That is a problem when I think that you don't understand me, I'll repeat myself. As long as we are okay in the end. About you imagining me as female; was I a nice person?
I mostly just picture people as their avatars. It's more fun that way, and doesn't require too much thought. Several people in here change from female to male quite often based on their avatars. Even if I know that a member is a particular gender, if they have an avatar that is opposite that, I still picture them as their avatar. 😂

Then you get the people who have avatars like my current one, in that case, if I don't know the members gender, then I make an assumption as to which character in their avatar that they look like based on how they type. I also do this when the avatar is not of an actual character.

Can you imagine Mr Trick as anyone but his avatar?
Not really, there is more of a "flavor" (even then I realize it's just a crack into the person, just like meeting someone at home, church, job, vacation and all that are likely to show different, even unrecognizable, differences, as will other factors, that is I realize whatever "flavor" I sense here may very well be different, even contrary to how I imagine them, if I met them in real life).

I have, rarely, dreamed of members I've interacted with on a board (I don't recall having any such dreams about any member here). In the rare case I was able to find out what the person actually looked like (which in one case included a real life meeting--and she was even more surprised by my appearance than I was by hers), it wasn't like in my dream (and if I dream of them again they'll probably still look as I dreamed of them before rather than how I now know they actually look).

Btw, I've tested online tests that claim they can figure out your demographic by a paragraph. I've used various samples, and I've never encountered one that was even half accurate, just based on stereotypes from what I imagine someone in the tech industry or more money than sense would come up with (in most cases I could even determine what was affecting the outcome of the test).

I imagine my mates in here based on their personality. I have occasionally heard little snippets of their appearance but not much! What do you guys think I look like?

IIRC, you're a model then I imagine you're tall and thin, at least if it works as it did late 70s/early 80s (my mom was a model), though I'm well aware just how radically different a model can look when not attended by a professional crew for hours.

Oh my god, I near lost my mind when I found out that @WillowFromBuffy was a guy. So confusing 😀

I've known for a while he's a guy but I still forget every time I see the profile. I thought DeadlyDuo was a man lol.

@Priceless, did you know that Buffy is a bloke, now you know why Angel became Angelus.
Don't think anyone would get even close to what I actually look like 😀

Especially those who go by a persons avatar (A little clue - I look nothing like Eliza!).

Last Watcher stated that no one could get close to what he/she looks like. Who has wondered what gender Last Watcher is? Personally I don't care, as long as we communicate as friends.

Also .. .. according to Puppet a guy has a figure like Fran Kranz,.. .. .. .., nah,.. .., really?
