Well it seems to me that there is too much emphasis right now on homosexual rights the same way that there was in the 70's with the NAACP. I am not against gay or lesbian rights but I really think the problem is that no one is concerned with human rights. Why must there always be catagories that separate people? I realize that most will argue that because of our antiquated laws that this is the reason for the emphasis and separation. If everyone were treated equally regardless of their sexual orientation then there wouldnt be the need for gay/lesbian rights. I have no problem with homosexual marriages, people are the same no matter of race , color, creed or sex.
Ok , I had to come back and place a second reply. I stand behind my first one but I need to add a few things. I think the biggest problem today is not so much the issue of gay/lesbian marriages, but the actual sanctity of marriage. Part of the problem is that many do not take this union seriously. There should be tougher rules to get married to make sure that the couple understands what this union is all about. Not just the issue of Gay/lesbian rights to marriage but everyones right to marriage. Maybe there should be a new thread to discuss marriage/divorce for everyone.
