We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but they had no luck.

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

LaToya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

The last 15 - 20 years might mostly have been about making fun of him by people/press in general. But growing up he was one of my favourite artists. And "bigger" than I think none of todays youth really can understand. R.I.P.
 
I bet alot of people feel like utter shit making fun of him and stuff.

OMFG I was just talking about him with my mother!!!! Like not even 5 min ago!

It's kind of a big deal. I wouldn't call it freaky.
I just heard this, I can't believe that he's dead. Whats odd is that he died in kinda a normalish way for a man of his age,heart attack. I always assumed he'd die in a really odd way. I loved his music,but not necessarily the man. But my heart goes out to his family.

I can't say I feel like shit for making fun of Michael Jackson. I liked him just fine when Thriller came out...I was a huge fan...but he definitely got a little freaky after that. It's not like I wished the guy dead or anything, far from it!

RIP Michael. Sad, sad day in the entertainment world, isn't it?
 
Reports of the man's death are slightly premature. I'm sitting here right now watching three television news programs, and all state that MJ is not deceased, but in a coma.

I know, I can't find any confirmation online, either. CNN just says he was hospitalized.
I can't believe it. I'm not a fan of him but neither a hater. I listened to his music, I thought he was a legend. I watched him moonwalk like maaany times on Youtube. I heard my mum talk about him.... It's like such a loss. RIP.

That's what the LA times has reported. But, to be honest, you have to take that with almost as much a pinch of salt as the TMZ report. There's been no official announcement, without that you can't know for sure.

And now the LA times are saying he's died too. They were the only ones reporting a coma, so...

Not really. Everyone wants to be first with the big news so a lot of time they're more rushing to get the news out instead of confirming it. He might be dead, he might be in a coma. Guess we'll have to wait to be sure.


edit: And I'm a bit late as always. So dead now huh? Lets make a deal. I'll go to bed and when I get back up you'll know for sure. 😉
 
Okay, now I am sad to say at 6:20 PM New York time, it's been reported by all news stations that Michael Jackson is now deceased.

This is terrible....

Pop star Michael Jackson has been taken to hospital in California, reports said.

The singer was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation and was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He was taken to the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Centre, the newspaper added.

Jackson was due to perform 50 farewell concerts, bowing out on an illustrious music career spanning several decades which earned him a fortune.

Bookmakers William Hill suspended betting on how many gigs Jackson will do at the O2 in London.

Joe Jackson, the star's father, told showbiz website TMZ.com: "He is not doing well."

The site reported that the emergency 911 call came in at 12.21pm (8.21pm BST) at his Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles.

A spokesman for UCLA said that due to patient confidentiality the medical centre could not comment on or confirm the reports.
 
Wow...I wasn't expecting this tonight. I've just been watching the coverage on SkyNews. I wasn't exactly a fan and after the last several years I honestly found him too odd but it's Micheal Jackson. He's a music legend despite whatever else he is. My father just said that this feels like the night Elvis died...he said it happend just like this.

I suppose all I can say is RIP.

I was waiting for my E! News text because I didn't want to rely on TMZ. But when I got it...wow. I had hope he'd pull through. I wasn't a huge fan or anything, but I liked some of his music no matter the person, it's still sad.
