Will have to change my rankings too. Definitely done episodes I’ve changed my mind over. Eternity is much better than I gave it credit for, and Hero isn’t as strong as I first rated it years ago IMO 😊
Hero has a great beginning and a great end but everything else in between is terrible

Over the Rainbow/Through the Looking Glass/There's no Place Like Plrtz Glrb (aka the kinda pointless Pylea trilogy 😉 )
Plot Rundown: After Cordelia is sucked into the alternate dimension of Pylea (Lorne/The Host's original home), the group decide to risk their futures creating another portal in an attempt to bring her back. At first Cordy is a slave, then unexpectedly a princess which presents her with some complicated choices. We learn more about Lorne's upbringing and why he fled for LA, and are properly introduced to Fred the vulnerable young lady from Cordy's vision in the previous episode.
Highlights: Cordy's reactions to things as soon as she arrives in Pylea are always fun, it adds a deftness to something which otherwise could've been very dark and gloomy (which this series of episodes are not mostly). One rewrite I would've done is maybe to have had much more the opening episode be Cordy focused and had less of the other stuff. In many ways this trilogy feels like more her and Lorne's stories than anyone elses. Angel's delight at learning he can't bust into flames in Pylea is awesome! Goofy Angel is somehow always gold maybe because of how much fun DB is having😀. The group bickering over who lost the book is some of the best comic stuff in these episodes, a rare moment of Lorne being miffed tickled me too😆. Fred's debut is a positive especially because of what a great character she ends up becoming. Early Fred can be a bit grating, but Amy Acker just brings her to life with so much personality and subtle emotions. Fred's "Handsome man saved me from the monsters" line is borderline cringe, but again the actress sells it so well and it fits the fairytale logic of these episodes.
All 3 episodes have great hooks, you have Willow arriving with bad news to close the season. Episodes 1 and 2 both have fun cliffhangers the best being Lorne's head appearing in the basket in front of Cordelia. This leads to some fun antics next episode and reveals more about the Host.
Lowlights - Making this three episodes is overkill, 2 would've be perfectly fine. There's too much filler especially in the first episode where it takes the group too long to set off. Gunn's dilemma could have been cut down to 1 scene. Lorne going to his hotspot contact should have been cut out (and who does he think he's fooling with that lame disguise? 😆 ). Gavin's debut could have waited til S3. Groosalugg serves his purpose as a one shot character, sadly.... Plus its annoying how easily Cordy takes his side over Angel's the guy she's known for 4-5 years at this point. The Angel beauty and beast stuff isn't that interesting and has been done much better in past episodes and on Buffy. The demon in the hood looks and sounds a bit like a Sith Lord out of Star Wars and is kinda cheesy and lame. After episode one Wesley and Gunn get sidetracked mostly in subplots, they are at least fun together. At times the sub genre of these episodes leave it feeling too much like a sub-Merlin or a Star Trek Holodeck adventure.
Verdict - A random end to a mostly strong season 2. It feels largely out of step with the dark tone and some of the themes earlier in the season. Some of the episodes fair better than others, all the characters have fun moments, but besides Cordy and Lorne I don't think we learn too much about the main group of characters. Even with Cordelia we don't learn that much new, it just represents a crossroads in her life between her past and future. Not only should this have been a 2 part episode not 3, but it probably would have been better happening earlier in season. A very mixed bag.
MVP: Lorne (Runner Up: Cordelia)
Least Valuable: Sith looking demon.

1) If we're counting all three parts as one, this is overall one of the lightest season endings of the series. It consistently makes me laugh (esp. Lorne's head). And it's honestly a classic example of raising everyone's hopes and mood only to cut them down at the very end (news of Buffy's death).
2) Sort of? While I agree there's a bit of bloat, I think knocking a full episode out would leave it a bit too scant. So I'd rather have the 3 we got then cut down to 2, but I might spend more time on Grue/Cordy and on the rebels.
3) Not sure which is the best. If I had to pick, the second.
