Hmmm. So, we have one season of 11 epsiodes, plus 6 seasons of 22. That makes 143 episodes of Buffy in total. Then we have 5 seasons of Angel at 22 episodes each. That gives a grand total of 253 episodes.
Divide that by 4 to see roughly how many issues you'd need to get all the episodes, and you get 63.25 . They'd make that into 64, to sell an extra issue.
So, 64 issues in the set. The first costs £2, so we have to add 63 £8 issues.
£514 for them all. Lets see what Amazon has to say.
Amazon.co.uk: Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The Complete DVD Collection
Oh. Only £100. And that includes proper packaging? Wow. Angel time:
Amazon.co.uk: Angel - Complete Collection
Oh again. That's only £80, again, with much more compact packaging. Hmm.
So, if buying all of Buffy and Angel costs £180, those 64 magazines are worth about £334 on their own. That's around £5.22 an issue for the actual magazine. Must be some quality journalism. Oh, wait. I forgot. We get a mug.
Don't get me wrong Ripper, I appreciate your bringing this to our attention. Thanks, because I'm sure some people will be interested, especially if it means they can pick up just the episodes they want. But I absolutely
hate this kind of marketing, and I just think people should be aware of what they are getting into when they start to buy. Especially when people on here who already have the complete collection will buy this anyway.
Edit: Oh, and am I correct in assuming this is a monthly magazine? It was difficult to tell from their website. If so, just be glad knowing that you'll be able to sit down to Not Fade Away in about 5 years time.
I think I'll stick with my Complete Collections.
