I have a little thing which may not have been discussed on here yet...
There was a little survey thing which you could fill in inside, and it said that they were thinking of possibly having some issues with figures of the characters... Now this would be great i think but then if you think about it im sure for £7.99 they wouldnt include the figure and the DVD... so again it would probably add more money.
I really detest these kinds of marketing and cash ins... i mean the amount of money it will cost at the end of the whole collection!!!! It wont be cheap!!! And another thing... i know its great and stuff to have Buffy/Angel back on the shelves, but why couldnt they come up with some other kind of magazine with some other Buffy stuff like the figures and all of that which would be more likable to all of those who already have the seasons and stuff (which is alot of people)... I mean surealy they would make more money that way????

Oh and in reply to LittleWilly who asks if its any good... to be honest not really.
I bought it because the first issue was £2 and i was interested in what the magazine could offer... and the answer is not much. It basically tells you about the start of the show but to me its a bit too similar to the documentary that is on the extras on season 6 or there abouts... the one where it tells you the history of the show and stuff... so that one was very dissapointing. Then theres a cast page where they tell you a bit about the cast... this week it was Sarah Gellar and they basically tell you everything you already know... what she has been in, what she did after, awards she has won and stuff like that... oh and also that her voice is in demand for some animation films and stuff... you can get all that info on the good old internet im sure. Then theres an episode guide with some trivia, which again is too similar to the Watchers Guides for my likings...
Thats about it really... Not much and everything that is in the mag you can find out on here or in stuff thats already out. Dissapointing to be honest and i certainly wont buy anymore... unless they have the figures which they may be doing.
Anyway slight nitpick about it. The magasine shows a larger image of what both the collections will look like and there are:
33 Volumes of Buffy, at 4 episodes each.
24 Volumes of Angel, at 4 episodes each.
Umm, that means 132 episodes of Buffy and 96 of Angel.
There are 144 episodes of Buffy and 112 of Angel. So either there are more volumes coming and they didn't have a complete set of either ready for the photo (it was CG'd anyway so I don't see how that could be) or they aren't even giving all the episodes!
I got the first edition but I'm not allowed anymore; if you think about it, it'll cost nearly fourty quid for each season which is double what it is to get the boxsets. I really enjoyed the magazine though - Shame I already have all the DVDs.
I have the first issue, as tempted as I am to continue collecting, I think it's a no for me. It'll burn a huuuge hole in my pocket.
Honestly, the magazine isn't too great.
I'm just buying VHS', as skanky as that sounds. There cheap, cheaper then the magazine and DVD with only 4 episodes. They'll do. I've just won, on Ebay, the whole of Season 1 on VHS for £4.50 (+£2.50p&p) Honestly, it's not that bad, and im not fussed about extras. 🙂
Do you have it on DVD?
At the moment with the exchange rate and that it's equivalent to £32. Which is the average price for some series', I guess, on Amazon.co.uk, however others like, Series 3 is £18 new. Hm.
I bought the whole box set thing with like a signed letter from Joss Whedon (which i love and have framed) and that only cost me £80 from my sister in law who was getting rid of some stuff to raise some money for stuff. Which i think is mad because i could never part with it!!!!!
But either way here you can get a full series for like £10-£15 if you look around... brand new and in the shops too. BARGAIN!!!
I already have all the dvds and that offer is good if you cannot affor them all at once and only want to pay weekly but i suppose you could just as easily save up £8 a week and then get the big boxset. I do wish that the buffy magazine was still around, the one that was out when buffy was still going lol.
