New Buffyverse series on Audible with a focus on Spike

Geeze I never even thought they might have a romance going on between her and Spike. FFS. It being audio-only is just a terrible idea to begin with. An animated Series right about now would've been amazing but i guess this is the best they can do...
To answer your other posts SMG has always said she’d be happy to see the Buffyverse continue but she feels like Buffy as a characters story has been told. She wouldn’t have done Buffy’s voice in an animated series. She’s done with the series and that’s ok. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t still have interest in TV or even the genre. She just feels Buffy Summers story is done

Personally I much prefer seeing actors like SMG and DB moving on with their life and doing new things. It’s fine for things to be done and close the door on it. There’s something tragic seeing the likes of Nick Brendan live streaming from his garden singing I’ll Never Tell or James Masters turning up to the opening of an envelope in the Spike costume doing a bad English accent endlessly reciting ‘out for a walk bitch’. It just gives very ‘peaked in High School’ energy

There are stories I love that I came to loathe all the more because they didn't know when to stop. In some cases, Buffy being one of them, I can still enjoy the earlier stuff while ignoring later stuff as much as I can.

Sadly, for a lot of the starring actors in both series, this was the high point of their careers. Very few of them have had as much success later. So Buffy is still a source of income for them. Possibly one of their largest.

If the old writers made this, I'd expect some Spike/Cordy action. Frankly, that's what most would want, even if not ideal. (Edited: when I say "most" I am NOT including myself). And it's just how they wrote.

I'm seeing this as meta, the female protagonist (no matter how much she hates vampire with the force of a thousand suns) and a vampire are almost certainly going to be in bed in the first book if not second when it comes to urban fantasy. Buffy was exceptionally slow about that, perhaps because it was TV Prime of the 90s.

But with new writers? Maybe.

They could always spice things up and do Cordy/Tara.

Possible. They've basically just created an alt-Scooby gang. Anya will probably be their version of Willow. But then there is Amy back in the works. I wonder if it's alt-Amy or Amy from the show.
And whether it's season 1-3 Amy or season 6 and later Amy.

Actually all options. Joss loves the love triangles (even when they made no sense), and I think they're more popular now than ever.

I think fans would love to see these guys in different projects. Sadly even though they're a talented bunch, only a couple went on to have continued success.

So for many, conventions, Cameo etc is their bread & butter. Fortunately though, it appears a number of those who do the convention circuit seem to enjoy it.

Just using James as an example - he hangs his hat in a few areas - he's got his band, does book narration, but outside of the Marvel Runaways show, that was really his only long-term work on television (outside of BTVS).

I think I'd be interested in getting this - if you can do so without subscribing to Audible! As in, a one-off purchase, like a book. I have no idea if that sort of thing is possible.

See below (ignore the reference to cancelling). It's probably better to take out the free trial. "Full price" is expensive.

Yes! Audible content can be purchased with or without an Audible Premium Plus membership. However, you will be paying full retail price for the audiobooks, and by canceling your plan, you’ll miss out on great benefits like the Audible Plus Catalog, credits, sales and more!

However, any title you purchase with a credit or credit card can be listened to with or without a membership and is yours to keep regardless of your membership status.

I've just checked and it says (of Slayers): Regular price: £19.99;
Member price: £7.99 or 1 Credit

I do have an unused gift card that's been knocking around since Christmas.

Is that per episode?

Is that per episode?
No - it will be for the whole thing/book. I joined for the Sandman release (Act 1) about 3 years ago. That was £30 for non-members/£7.99 for members. James MacAvoy as Dream (swoon).

just an FYI... it's not a thing/book, it's more like a thing/show; just without static or moving picture things.
No - it will be for the whole thing/book.
So if you are paying for the whole thing/book why is it being distributed in episodes? Is it cooler? or easier to consume? It would irk me. Do the other ones do it the same way?

It's not a book. It's like a TV show - just without images.

The first Buffyverse season that you can legally fully "watch" while driving a car.
