New season 9 cover art

Wow I love that Rebekah Isaacs' cover! It's so different from Chen or Jeanty's work- it's refreshing. I really like her interpretation.

Those boots are kick-ass! But where are they in that one? Doesn't that look like the U.S. Capitol?
 
Super excitied about S9 starting. Back to the basics is so nice.

It's kind of sad at how unimportant the Fang Gang have/are become/ing in the Buffyverse.

I was surfing the Whedonesque comments about this cover the other day, and someone posted that it's actually St. Paul's Cathedral in London. 😀 It totally looks like the Capitol building though!

Don't jinx it!! Theres still a chance we can get Welsey to come back and pull out his badass pistols!! I miss the Fang Gang...it's so unfair they get ignored

I think it was just the design trend at the time because when I first glanced at it I thought it was the The Four Courts in Dublin. 🙂

Well, why not? LA is obviously out of the question and I'd assume SF would be the next logical choice. SF is sometimes seen as a city of acceptance and new beginnings, so I could see how that would suit the Scoobies needs. However, I think most of the reason is that the city provides such wonderful fodder for drawing since it is so gorgeous.

OOOh I love that one above!!

I love Angel's facial expression - sort of sand and heroic at the same time. Is he torturing himself by deliberately touching a cross? And Big Ben is under repair and Faith is sitting on (or near) Giles' grave. Awesome 🙂

It's a beautiful place not often explored in comics. A chance to introduce new visuals.

In season 8 there was a slayer squad in SF - so there's a lot of pissed-off slayers to harass Buffy.

Maybe Joss wants to hook Andrew with Buffy's new boss... 🙂)))

A have a question for American fans: are these cafe-libraries popular in America. Do they exist outside San-Francisco?
