My Mum accepts it, now. It's something she just had to deal with and I'm thrilled that she can just deal silently and keep her thoughts to herself. I completely accept the fact that she believes different things. I'm a Christian same as her but I am a little more open minded than a lot of the people of the religion that I know.
Being English (where Atheism is more commonplace then any particular religion) I find it difficult to get my head round this attitude. As a matter of fact it scares me, I find it very uncomfortable when people try to force their beliefs (or non-beliefs) upon people in a way that effects their lives. Although as you say it's great your mother doesn't actually do this but it seems it appears she is in the minority. I'm not really looking to have kids but if I did I'd want them to make up their own mind and not force my Atheist beliefs upon them. Way back in the 60's John Lennon claimed that The Beatles were bigger then Jesus- I can completely understand why America reacted in such a shocked way if what you hint at is widespread but over here in England that would have been a statement the majority of the country would have agreed with and caused very little hassle. Do the limitations of being Christian upset you at all or do you not really care? I'm quite interested to hear what you think.

So I logged on to my bank's website to set up my debit card in their points program today. I was enrolled before, but my bank merged with another, and I thought it had cancelled the program, because that's what the guy at the bank said. So I'd left it alone for nearly four months, and I found I was still enrolled, and had racked up quite a few points! I got $74 dollars total for free. For doing nothing but letting those points add up and using my card like normal. That will surely help me get the wii I want! Yay!

NICE! :D
My gran got the most amazing Christmas present that I love being able to flip through and it makes me super happy cause I'm interested in researching my family tree.
It's a book about old families on this island in the Swedish archipelago and it traces my maternal family tree back through like 6 or 7 generations! So cool! (although kinda boring that they're all from like the same tiny island... probably married their cousins too 😉)

Kean is watching The West Wing!

Yes.I'm that shallow. Everyone should watch that show. You want to make me happy won't you? And it'll be a good thing for you as well. Trust me. I'm not known to be lying.😉

DARK BLUE TENNESSEE LEAKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap... Dark Blue Tennessee leaked. My iTunes now has the song Dark Blue Tennessee - Taylor Sift playing. Sung by her, not a cover. The coveted Dark Blue Tennessee leaked! IN YOUR FACE INNER CIRCLE! IN YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I know the the large majority of you this makes absolutely no sense, but there might be one or two people who know. If not, I'll just put it this way: an extremely rare and coveted unreleased Taylor song called Dark Blue Tennessee was leaked today. This means the Inner Circle (the people who originally had it and think it's ok for them to share the unreleased music but no one else to) has taken a GIANT LEAP FORWARD to crumbling down. That makes me so happy)

First, I was *so* depressed because I ate more chocolate that I planned.. But what the hell.. I'm watching BtVS, so I'm happy again xD

I am happy to be out of my inlaws' nasty, flea-infested house and even happier knowing I won't have to go back to their house until my husband comes back from deployment. Which means I have over a year of not having to see their disgusting dump of a house. YAY!!!!

off topic but your mum doesn't like Buffy because she's a christian ? what is it that she has a problem with? I'm just wondering cos there are plenty of christians on this board. Is it the magic? cos I saw Jesus Camp and they had some issues with Harry Potter.

Yeah, I know. I'm a Christian but I don't believe the really hardcore stuff. Some Christians believe that once you open yourself up to these things you are opening some sort of spirtiual door and letting demons in, yada, yada, yada. I don't know, maybe I'm just not letting myself understand it. It's partly the magic, because this magic although it's not that realistic, it's more realistic than the magic in Harry Potter. Some Christians have a huge problem with that stuff. I don't understand it. My Mum doesn't like Harry Potter so much either. Buffy was the second blow, I got into Harry Potter first and kept it from her for like a month 😀

I'm kind of glad my happiness has opened a little discussion, it's interesting to hear what others think about this.

Well, 😀 this is interesting. I live in New Zealand and since we are such as mall country we aren't united in any beliefs, it's spread. But most of the Christians I have met here believe the same as my Mum, it's weird. But I wouldn't want to force any beliefs on my children either, I'd like them to deal with things in their own way.

But onto your question. The limitations never bothered me, not for years and years. There were things like I wasn't allowed to watch Harry Potter and once we read the first book in school and I was a good child and left the room to read a book of my own. There were also things like, if we had stuff about other beliefs about how the world came about in our homework I wouldn't have to do it. It's weird, but that's just how my family has worked. My Dad's not a Christian though, so that's good. But the limitations really didn't concern me until a few years ago. I think it was Wizards of Waverly Place which sounds so sad but I did used to watch it. But my Mum didn't want me to, yada, yada, yada. Slowly she started watching the show and realized how corny it was and that there was nothing bad about it, she couldn't even argue with that. Then there was Harry Potter and I just sort of was like "Mum, I'm 15 years old and I should be allowed to make my own descions about what I watch and what I do". So, once Buffy came along she just has to deal. But I do hate the restrictions and I try to make it clear to my family that I am at this stage where I have to be my own person and sort things out myself. If I come back to their way of thinking one day then I will have come there on my own.

So yeah, 😀 That's my slightly long-winded answer.

My parents and my sister left earlier this morning to visit some people that lives three hours away from here, so I'll be home alone all day 😀 sweet

Saw today the space I found to make into a sewing studio I've been wanted for so long, and it's perfect, and so close to my house! Now I need to work on filling it with stuff. Still considering my wall paint options. Thinking about having it light purple.

Purple is my fave colour! They have really cool wall stickers and even wallpapers now. (I just decorated my first appartment... still in oooh check that out-mode =3)
Having a final day off before going back to work...for a 3 day work-week. Nice to play with the baby.

3day workweeks are the best!...well technically the 2 days off are... but you know :3
One of my sister's friends sold her a relatively new Wii console, two remotes and three games for £45. He's either stupid or has so much money he can just throw it away.

But on the plus side: Wii for the house. 😀
