Okay, folks, sit back and get ready, cause this is going to a be a therapeutic rant. If I don't get it off my chest, I'm gonna bust.
We got a new puppy yesterday. He's a cute, friendly mixed breed (read MUTT) with tan medium length fur, a black muzzle, and a tail that just doesn't know anything to do but wag. He's playful, but in a sort of restrained way, and, like almost all babies, he plays hard until exhausted, then curls up in whatever inappropriate spot he can find, and sleeps the sleep of the totally innocent. He's a beautiful little thing, and we're more than happy to share our home with him. He came to us in a very unique way.
I have a pickup truck that has been at the repair shop for a few days waiting on parts. We went over yesterday to check on it, and, lo and behold, there on the bed of my truck was a half starved, nearly frozen little puppy that some low life, scum sucking, pig of a human had abandoned there the day before, and it was only by a miracle and some dried up leaves that he managed to survive the sub freezing temperature of the night before. Forgive me here if I sound cruel or uncaring, but I believe, and have always believed, that that anyone who would abandon an animal like that, especially one too young to take care of itself, has a very special place reserved for themselves in the Hereafter, and it's located in the hottest, driest pits of hell. I've loved animals, especially dogs and horses, all of my life and I see the abuse of either or any other animal as just one short step removed from child molestation and I will tolerate neither. I believe that it is far more humane, if an animal is unwanted, if no one can be found to care for it, it is far more humane to euthanize it in as painless a way as is possible. Nothing else is acceptable in my way of thinking.
I have tried very hard, and successfully, I see, on this format, to avoid profanity during this little rant, though be assured that mentally I have thoroughly exhausted every vile, profane exploitative that I have learned over the course of a long life associated with a very rough group of men, though I admit freely that it has been a struggle. And for those who have read this far, I thank you for your patience.
I will leave you with this quote from the late great Charlton Heston in his role as Taylor in the original "Planet Of The Apes:"
"GOD...DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
