What about my me?
I can believe Sophi came up with the idea to take Rizo's idol herself, as she's been talking about how to use her advantage. But I think she hasn't been ready to separate from her protectors. Maybe she will in this next episode, but she's leaving it really late. She could make herself a swing vote and switch to Sage and Kristina, but I'm not sure that would be viewed as a "big move" the way stealing Rizo's idol would have been. And what else has she really done this season?

Sophi is reminding me a bit of our first aussie winner, Kristie. She played as no threat the whole game and came out swinging at final 2 to take the win after winning the last immunity. I hope it doesnt happen, as there have been better players in 49, but if it does, I can also see why.

I disliked Savannah, with her mean-girl energy early on, but I felt she most deserved to win. I would have liked Rizo in the final three just to see his ego deflated, because he mostly relied on his idol since the merge. For that reason, I thought Sophi maybe should have taken him and had Sage and Savannah do fire. And then Rizo's final comments: "I made the whole country proud." What an ego!🙄 I'm almost glad to see that Rizo will be in Season 50 (along with Savannah, it looks like), so he will get his bubble popped by all those experienced players. But then, he and Savannah will be the youngest by far, in some cases.

I wondered if that's where they had to pause the finale for Trump's unscheduled speech. Fortunately, his speech was at 6 PM on the west coast, not 9 PM, so my viewing wasn't interrupted!

I didnt get spoiled at all for whose going on it, so I will be as clueless as the rest of the cast as to who's who.
Racheal Hunter? Already joking about leaving.
Barry Williams? Oh he was on The Brady Bunch. I did watch that but never would have recognised him. Racheal recognised him.
Mia Fevola - Fevs kid. Wow he's getting the whole family on reality TV! He took his other daughter on Amazing Race. Aww cute little flashback for Mia and Robert. Bit of a slow start. Finally, onto a challenge. Mia is already crying, a fear of water? Its a glass tub of clear water? Has she never had a bath? Julia looks unsympathetic, that could be fun if she stays deadpan about Mias sooks. Get on with it. This a dud challenge to start with.
Next lot in. Rebekah someone, I recognise her from Neighbours. Luke Bateman, NRL, begging for testicles. I wonder if that is a gameplan for him - pretending he wants the eating challenges to avoid getting voted into the eating challenges. Nate someone, resident comedian. Deni Hines, definitely recognise her! This segment is much better than the first one lol. Still a bit slow though.
If I wasnt already into this show and in it for the season, I would probably tune out! This is an unusually slow paced first episode.
They are worshipping poor Brady bunch man hahah. I dont know if Barry knows that the Brady bunch was on every week night here until at least the late 90's. Deni and Rebekah are going to be a hoot together. If Deni keeps this energy, she might win it.

Duno who the other two are. Greyson?Dyson? And Concerta? Poor choice of shoes. Im too old for JJJ now. I love that they put scratch marks in the graves, thats pretty funny staging. Ooh I want some of those grave shoes for the beach. Mia would have had a panic attack in this one for sure, I hope she gets to see the viper pit...

I’ve been enjoying this season. I knew that Lisa and Candiace would give this cast a run for their money, but I knew nothing of Rob and he’s been a pleasant surprise. However, I absolutely despise the narcissist Colton Underwood and he tarnishes every episode he is in.
Rob has been fun! What a great choice, contrast against the other traitors. Its smart for him to team up with the other Love Island chick, cos shes such a ditz. Micheal is exactly every character I have ever seen him play on tv lol.
I didnt expect Donna to be the secret traitor! Im not sure if I just missed seeing her get that at the start or if none of the audience knew, but I thought the secret traitor was a cool twist, it just went no where really. Might come into play more in future seasons. Maybe it was just to narrow the choices cos those housewives waffle on. Jamjam is annoying haha. I hope he cries when they banish him. Natalie seems on the ball.

The cabin in the traitors UK was excellent! UK is more bingeable than US, with some great players despite not being "known". Claudia seems a bit more in the game as well, rather than just an overseerer. I dont know if that would work in the other countries. It will interesting to see how Gretal goes on AU. I havent finished UK yet, nor caught up on US. Im a Celeb will be on soon, but to be honest, the Traitors has over taken that in my interest.

Survivor 50 is having an immunity idol search for viewers. There will be an idol hidden in each US state. I signed up today, but they aren't going to have the first clue for my state for a few days. I don't know how much I'll participate, as even if you figure out the clues, you have to drive to where the idol is and take a photo of yourself with it. That might be easy in Rhode Island, but in my state, it might be 300 miles away!

Well this aged well haha She was the only one to say "Im a celebrity get me out of here" cos she refused to poop in the drop loos. It has been the worst season I have ever seen. The cast is fine, its the rest of production that sucks. The pacing is terrible and just general feel of the show has been lost.
The season of I'm a Celeb has got me worried about Survivor AU format changes. I really hope they dont have the same producers on to ruin Survivor too. Survivor AU starts next week.
I think they have done something similar in Australia, I didnt look it up for sure but saw the new host David on Instagram talking about idols being found in different cities around the country. If I hadn't been following him on instagram I'd have no idea, so I guess this is a good trick to make sure people are following and watching the socials for free advertising and pre season hype. Did you end up finding your state idol?

The first and I think only clue was pretty obvious as to where it was: somewhere along the shore of a park in a city about an hour away from me. So I knew pretty much where it was, but I wasn't going to drive there to find it.
CBS has been showing episodes of old Survivor seasons for the past few weeks. I suppose it's to remind us of the returning players who will be in S50. I haven't watched the reruns, and I'm sure I won't remember a lot of them. But I am looking forward to the season, because I've felt that previous all-returning players seasons had a superior level of scheming and drama. I just hope they don't make these older people (some must be in their 60's!) do the athletic challenges that have prevailed in the last 10 or so seasons.
I got an email with a Survivor AU preview and an invite to do a 30 second reaction video linked to my instagram. My instagram is for bunnies! Not for tv! No way I'd be sending a selfie video to go on tv, no angles can fix this ugly mug! I dont even know what portrait mode is.

Whoa, weird to hear a different voice, didn't think of that, but odd. David does sound more "aussie" maybe cos he's a west coast boy, he sounds better to me? JLP always had that hint of american. It is a bit like Deans Batman voice in parts.
Meeting all the cast, some big talkers, some sob stories. Hate hate hate the "victimhood to victory" line, makes me want to kill myself.
LOL go Simon! He's so pretty I dont mind seeing him play again, even if he isnt the worlds best player. Aisha looks familiar? An actor?
Love the colours 😀 Say "Redemption" from ya chest David! Oh dont call him DG, can we go with Dave? DG is blugh, doesnt roll off the tongue like JLP. Haha, good call Faith "Pretty sure they all lost last time they played".
Oooh I like the Bounty and Barren thing. Actual labelling. How will this influence their mindset for the game? David is doing ok with the commentary so far, lets see drops any cheeky lines in. Now the meeting everyone, Harrys backstory is true redemption. He came so close the first time. Im surprised they kept the Christian character, cos its deeply unpopular here. Harry scheming. Might not be smart to scheme with Simon hahah. Lets see if Lyndl shares info with Harry.

Good move Lyndl, going to Brook with idol knowledge, was the best choice.

So weird seeing David instead of our beloved JLP. His voice over sounded like JLP at the beginning, and I got false hope. To be honest, during the initial group chat and reward challenge, it felt like David was playing host rather than actually making the host gig his own. Maybe that’s my bias, but it just didn’t feel authentic. Because we know how he talks from his seasons as a player.
Love Simon. I really hope he gets to finale. I’m glad his tribe got the bounty reward.
And I like Mark.

I do agree. He has slipped into the "Host" role and its certainly not his own (yet). I assume he didnt want to rock the boat too much to begin with. But, considering his DONDI win, he also doesnt need the role for money. Hes playing it safe. I'm just glad he didnt show pony about, as we know he is capable of! He's letting the contestants shine.
Simon is a crack up, loved all of his lines in the first episode. And somehow he looks even better this season 😀
Mark is going to have to be blindsided to get out. I hope he doesnt look to be too big of a threat too soon, or he is a goner. He's the sole reason that Barren won immunity. I want to see him play another good game. I dont see Harry lasting too long, just because the tribe knows his game. Brooke has the social skills to go ok. Its going to be fun 😀
Sad news, Survivor 50 is not airing on free to air/9now in Australia like previous seasons 🙁 We will have to pay for Stan to see it.

I love that these players seem to want to play with the returnee players rather than target them - but perhaps Im falling for misdirection. Lyndyl is brave in that bikini. I had wondered if Johnson applied or was scouted from Big Brother cos he has the tv experience, and now channel 10 can claim him. Ohhh Brooke spilling the beans.
David bringing the guns to the challenge. Wouldnt see this one on US now days either, although was more tame than expected between those first boys! The battle of the blazers made the point! Does Jackson not have bathers? They looked like undies. Barren not letting their name get to them! Haha I knew they would do the cheeky zoom in on the flint. Yes, they sent dumb and dumber to the shop. Oh phew hahaha, I really believed that he had come back without a flint and a massive fish.
Lots of focus on Faith, suss. I think shes right wanting to target Johnson. She does do a good confessional. Cat is a kiwi, I dont remember much of NZ Traitors. Also lots of camera time on the truck driver with the praise the lord tatt.

Hes going to be safe until the individual game. Don has done good to catch up. Highlight of Dons life. Now they have to keep Eliza cos Jackson will cry if they dont. But its not looking good for her, even before we go to scramble 🙁 David is a bit softer towards the losing team, more empathetic perhaps?

I'm going to record tonight's Survivor 50 premiere and watch it over a couple days. An article about it noted that they don't go in for villains so much anymore, and Jeff tends to wax rhapsodic about how it's a "journey of self-discovery." I also feel like players are less likely to take betrayals and such personally. But many in this season will be old-school players, so it will be interesting to see if the game seems more old-school, too. I would like that.
