The one thing I have to say about this is -.-"-.-"-.-"-.-" etc.
Angel and Buffy weren't friends? OK, the true is they couldn't be just friends, but in their relationship they were friends and lovers, because without the friends things relationship is all sex, sex, sex, little rest and then again sex. Bangel wasn't that. I never said Cangel wasn't what you claim they are, I just said I don't see it. They're nothing to me, in the end of the day, just friends. We all see what we want to see, that is the beauty of tv shows and movies.
Buffy herself said in Lovers Walk "we're not friends. We'll never BE friends." So clearly, they weren't friends.
😀
Also, romance and sex are NOT the same thing. Romance is all the cutesy kissing and and roses and moonlit bike rides, stuff like that. There are a lot of extremely romantic relationships that were never consummated at all.
🙂 Like, Spuffy S7 was romantic, but as far as we know they never slept together.
🙂
So, basically, Bangel was all about the romance. It was pretty dramatic, with really early proclamations of love, kissing instead of hugging, and eternal sacrifice and all that craziness.
😀 Friends are what Tara and Willow were.
😀 They were sweet to each other, they treated each other with respect, they hugged and supported each other, befriended each others' friends, etc. That's actually one of my issues with Bangel: It's all about the kissing and the romance. A real relationship goes a lot deeper than that to where you have a deep love and acceptance for the person, a great understanding, instead of just a surface attraction. Which is why I prefer 'ships like Spangel, Dangel, Cangel, Spuffy, and Tillow. Like Anya said in Hell's Bell's:
"I, Anya, want to marry you, Xander, because ... I love you and I'll always love you. And ... before I knew you, I was like a completely different person. Not even a person, really... ...and I had seen what love could do to people, and it was ... hurt and sadness. Alone was better. And then, suddenly there was you, and ... you knew me. You saw me, and it was this ... thing. You make me feel safe and warm. So, I get it now. I finally get love, Xander. I really do."
