Yeah, that's the guy. All I know is the name... nothing else. My chemistry teacher didn't explain it all very well.

In order to convert from mols to atoms of a chemical substance or compound you need to take Avagadro's number into account.

Eg. How many atoms of silver are produced from 3g AgNO3?

3g AgNO3 x 1mol AgNo3 x 2mols AgNO3 x 6.022x10^23
----------------------------------------------------------------------
170g AgNO3 x 2mols AgNO3 x 1 mol Ag

=1.06 x 10^23

Isn't stoichiometry fun?

lol...organic chemistry gets nuts with the nomenclature on the carbon shiz...i think i remember like a couple things from that dumbass class

meth- 1 carbon atom
eth- 2
prop- 3
but- 4

then the endings are like ene for a double bond...and like yne for a triple bond...i hated organic chemisty...cause that was like the easiest it go cause then we got in to naming proteins and fatty acids...that sucked ASS!!

you know what i would like to do... Punch that Avogadro in the nose...for coming up with a number so huge....

hmmmm... now let me see...

science... science...

Well i did biology in school and i passed it so i must know something about it! I know nothing about chemistry and physics though! It's all jibberish to me! lol

I'm more of an arty student! None of this science or politics or stuff that needs use of brain cells! I study music! 🙂

LOL interesting post. Well I have a degree in it..a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Biochemistry. Couldn't for the life of me remember it though! 🙂

But I have another science degree, which brings in another 'type' of science, Electrical Engineering. I sometimes wondered why it was classed as such!

Happy Mole Day! (Chemistry thing, might be physics, but our chem teacher told us today's Mole day...so yeah...)

Oh my gosh! I didn't know that anyone else's chemistry teacher was nutty enough to celebrate mole day! We learned about it last year...did you have to learn the mole song?

slayer007...i didn't even know what the hell was happening in the synthesis...i was hella lost...

science makes my head hurt...

😱 ::disturb: ::uh:: ::huh1:: I guess that's something I get to learn later in Chem 1....

lol, thankfully no....we just thought it was a Mr. Porter thing, lol. He told us there's actually a National Mole Day Comitte, we thought he was lying, lol
