Scream 4

Well, I was nervous when I heard there was going to be a 4th movie, too, but I read up on it and Wes Craven said he turned it down first, then read the script and immediately called back to ask to direct because it was so good. Plus, Kevin Williamson came back to write the script (I don't think he wrote the one for Scream 3), so it is sure to do the first 3 films justice.

This is kind of the only thing that's given me hope. That, and hearing Neve came back on board, which she wasn't originally.

That being said, while Williamson didn't write the third, Craven directed it so I'm not surprised he wasn't totally keen from the off lol. But I will say that Craven and Willamson back together is promising.

I'm just a snob and a cynic who doesn't like change and holds thing that are precious to me very, very close lol

I was a little nervous at first too but I know I'll love it. I'm glad they are finally going back to Woodsboro because I was disappointed that they didn't do that in Scream 3.
 
Is Kevin Williamson still doing the script? I read somewhere that someone fecked with his original script and Wes Craven was Major pissed because it wasnt the movie he signed onto direct? Maybe I read it wrong but its stuck in my head for some reason?
 
I think there has been an issue like that. I think the guy who wrote the third was listed as the writer for a while but I've just checked now and it's back to Williamson. He tweets about it sometimes too lol

I really do love the new tagline: New Decade. New Rules.

That also gives me hope. One of the things I have always thought is most fundamental to the Scream films is the 'rules' and they were used in a very lame way in the third lol
 
Well the website says "New decade, new rules"... so I'm interested in seeing what the new rules are gonna be. 😉
 
As much as it gives me hope I'm concerned that the 'new rules' will be doing away with the classic horror conventions that MADE the first films. So I guess I hope the new rules are actually the old ones and not like Saw etc rules...lol

I was a little phsyced myself when I saw that they were coming out with a fourth movie. Sometimes I find horror flicks to be a bit predictable...Scream was the first movie to make me go, WTF?!? I love Wes Craven to boot. I will certainly be going to the theatres to view this one.
 
I figured out that there were two killers in the first "Scream" but I kept changing my mind a million times as to who I thought it was. LOL

I know what you mean. What about Scream 2 I kept changing my mind but Mickey always came off a little to creepy lol.
I ALWAYS thought the 4th movie would deal with Roman's helper. Cause in the first two there were two killers, so i felt like either Roman backstabbed the other killer, and one of the victims was one, or he/she got away.

I actually went to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice last week and there was a preview. It didn't show any of the cast, but I got pretty excited. (It was right after the Swagger Waggon commercial that I have to say was hilarious)

wow ... Scream 4??? I can't believe it.
It feels like so long ago Scream was a thing. I love 1 & 2 though as far as memory serves. Hated number 3. I'm intrigued by the idea of a new one though. I hope for a longer trailer soon.
 
Gosh when i heard this i got really excited! The films scared me when i was little, now i find it slightly cheesy.
I realy can't wait to see this, i love the characters and can't wait to see what the writers will do with them.
