Scream 4

I'm pretty sure Emma Roberts is going to be the new main character for the new trilogy since she is Sid's cousin.

I Like Them All, But My Favorite Is Scream 1
 
That is a good question my favorite is always going to be one but I think two has some important parts and even three. The first one is just so amazing.
 
They go in the order of release for me SO FAR haha the first Scream is just a classic. I still remember when I watched it for the first time. I was like 10 or 11 & I was home alone & we lived in the middle of nowhere. I was scared shitless lol.
 
Scream is definitely my favourite. Scream 2 was a little bit crappy. Scream 3 was AWESOME!

Scream 1 will always be the best. It was so clever and refreshing. Scream 2 managed to hold onto some of it being able to utilise the 'rules' of a sequel. But Scream 3 was absolutely shocking. It was like it wanted to parody itself, really, really badly and it succeeded.

I watched it a little while ago and found myself cringing. It really sucked because the first is easily one of my favourite films. But this is why I remain on the fence with the 4th.
 
But you also have to remember Kevin Williamson had virtually nothing to do with the third film, so you have to take that into consideration.
 
I'm fully aware of that and I mentioned it above. I also take into consideration that Craven WAS a part of the third and it still sucked. The fact they are back together does inspire me with a little hope but as it stands, Williamson's job is done and he won't be around so much when it goes into full swing production. (But that has changed so many times recently, this may not be correct an hour from now lol)

I'll have to disagree with all of it, which I realize will have me ostracized but that's okay, for I shall simply erase whomever badmouths me **points at his usertitle and grins** 😉 😀 😛

Anyhoo, I for one don't acknowledge anything after the original "Scream". They were unnecessary in my book. The first movie told and RESOLVED the whole friggin' story, for corn's sake. The writers actually had to pull stuff out of their ass to tell further stories. Especially that Scream 3. The killer is the mother's-sister's-cousin's-brother's-dentist's-nanny's-roommate's-uncle's-bartender's-stockroom clerk's-girfriend's-pizza delivery guy!

In the words of the great Dean Winchester: "Oh, C'MON!" 😛

But, Scream 4 is great for those of you who actually enjoyed the others, so rock on. :: tu ::

I'll go back and watch the original instead.

I loved Scream. I know I watched both sequels but to be honest I don't really remember them much, i guess they were that crappy lol however, I think I'm going to watch them all again just so I can waste my hard earned cash on what more than likely will be another flop. What can I say? I like crappy movies =/

Oh god yes, that third one was so... bad! Just really really bad.

I loved the first Scream, I thought the second one was all right and enjoyable... but the third one. No.
It's the reason why I haven't re-watched the first two though I'm intrigued to do so now.

So I'm curious to see this number 4 but wary at the same time... sequels usually means disappointment :S

lol, there were so many bad things about it. For one, Roman? Hello, just a human! So why is he just walking through bullets like some kind of big green Serial Killing Hulk. And along that line? I know Dewey was a ditzy cop who we all laughed at but he was what like Deputy Sheriff? The guy can AIM and FIRE a gun but apparently not?!

And I HATE where they pulled Roman from. The killers in the second one were tenuous to say the least.

was fine, THAT stayed in line with the whole movie thing and I liked it but in the third Roman was just total BS and the motive was lame.

And another thing - please do not bring Cotton Weary back.

lol, I do take full responsibility, I was holding in a similar rant myself :)
Craven directed a story he was given. If the plot sucks, no matter how great direction it is, the movie's still gonna suck. He did the best with what he had. If Williamson would have written the third, it probably would have been a LOT better.
 
But it wasn't just about it having a bad plot. It was seriously lacking compared to the first in terms of the characters, the chemistry, the whole 'feel' of the film - which I guess is a directorial thing.

At the end of the day, the Scream crew is made up of more than just Craven and Williamson and no matter how they awesome they might have been in the first, they are still under a group of execs who let the third movie happen how it did.

There is nothing that's going to make me any less anxious until I see it and see all these excuses/reason come to fruition - which despite my protestations, I do actually wish to happen.

oh yes, watching Scream 3 was like chewing cardboard. It was weak and contrived as whole not just the plot. (Though the plot ruined the pervious two movies for me)

I sincerely hope that as the years have gone by the crew, director, actors, writers all of them have found their passion for the 'Scream' series once more (which was sorely missing in the third) and that Scream 4 will feel like a living breathing story, not just a death cough attempting to scrape up some last coins from its successful predecessors

Awww, I loved "Scream 3"! I thought it was hilarious. :)
The main fear is that to have some shock value after three movies, a main character will have to die. Sidney, Gale or Dewey. Heck one might go in the opening scene. If it's Sidney I will be pissed. Three movies fighting for her life and then dead. Nope I won't be happy.
I liked all three movies, I didn't like the Sidney's mom stuff in three but I could handle the rest and it does have my favorite line in all the movies "Do you know why you kill people, because you choose to. There is no one else to blame." Love that. You can have a sucky life but it doesn't justify becoming a killer, and after hearing the killers in the previous movies bitch about their past and the effect it had on them, it was cool to hear Sidney basically say that it's all just a crappy excuse. 😀 I hope she makes it through 4.
As for Dewey and Gale. Keeping all three main characters alive again for the fourth time, I don't think it'll happen. My guess - Dewey's gone. 🙁
 
I find it to be so predictable, those who have followed the first 3 films are expecting one of the three to die. Which is why they should keep them on, IMO.
