Scream 4

Oh man, me too! Morbidly enough I grew up with these movies and never got to see one in the theatre ... I still can't believe it's really happening. I have a strange feeling Sydney is in major danger in this one, I know they want to make another trilogy. It's too bad all of us Buffy fans can't all go together to scream in the theatre, I can't really think of anyone I know that is ... ahem ... OBSESSED with this franchise as much as me.

Same here I loved these movies growing up. I am excited to finally see one in theatres.

It would be awesome to all go together! I'm trying to convince my mum to go with me so I don't have to go on my own!

I don't know about casting all these stupid new popular actresses. Seems like they should have a higher calibre than that.

That is what I am saying. No offence but I don't think Hayden P can act at all. That is just my opinion. Emma Roberts and a few others are the only ones I think can manage to do a okay job. It seems like they are just trying to get so many people and it isn't needed look how crazy all us addicts are going. 😉

I will say I agree with Tasha Adam Brody will play his part good. I think Rory Culkin will too.

Lol, don't stupid popular actresses going a bit hand in hand with these kind of horror movies though? 😀

Lol they do for the most part. I think I agreed with Cait because I don't want that for this movie. But when you think about it they did that with Friday the 13th and other new ones they will do it again.
Yeah I agree in a way and disagree in a way. I mean if you look at the slasher/horror movies of the 70s/80s they cast relatively unknown actors, most of whom where pretty damn atrocious in their parts! Then the movies of the 90s cast a lot of teen movie actors. Scream never shied away from casting actors that would draw a crowd, but I just don't feel like people they have cast are in the same league as people like drew Barrymore.

My biggest concern is that they will rely on all this 'of the moment' celebrities and lose out because of it, I'm not sure they can hold a scene the same way Drew Barrymore, Sarah Michelle Gellar or the guy that plays Cotton (how have I forgotten his name... Damn)

Writing long messages in your iPhone is hard... I do it all the time and always end up misspelling stuff!

Yep Liev I think your right no one can do the scenes like that. I actually had the issue with I didn't think they could handle the scenes as well. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

It depends how they go about it I guess. I'd be happy for them to embrass some schlocky acting and just go with it. Scream has always been about making fun of the genre, so there is every possibility that they can make it work with sub-par actors.

On the other hand, if they decide to take it super seriously it could be a disaster.

In some ways I guess I feel like it isn't being targetted at the original fans (that are probably 23-30 now), but instead are going for the new demographic of fans that are 13-20.

I could be completely wrong here, so I guess I am just going to have to wait and see like everyone else! They've been running a pretty tight ship keeping the details confidential, so it's easy to speculate. Of course, me being the ultimate pessimist (although I prefer the term realist) I'm convinced they're going to mess it up!

It is so weird I am in the younger demographic but could care less for some of the people LOL. All I know is it better work out or I will be like oh no. I think the main one I am worried about is Hayden after seeing some heroes.
But... Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 3 DID cast popular actors of the "now."

Courteney Cox - Monica Geller on the VERY VERY successful sitcom Friends
Neve Campbell - Starred in Party of Five and The Craft, both popular
Rose McGowan - sex symbol lol, dating Marilyn Manson
Drew Barrymore - Popular actress
Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy, I Know What You Did Last Summer

...those are just a few examples.

As I have already said, I know that they cast a lot of teen actors, part of what was great about the 90's horror flicks was that they did that. I love IKWYDLS and that had the all start 'teen flick' cast. Part of what I liked about it though, as I have also said, is that they would embrass this, and use their acting skills alongside some tongue in cheek humour about how bad the acting was.

I still maintain that Hayden Pantierre is definitely not in the same league of talent as actresses like Drew Barrymore and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Just my personal opinion though, and as I said, a completely demographic that I don't understand or appreciate, so I'm a feeling a little pessimistic about it. This new breed could blow me away, I just doubt it!

Anyhoo, I for one don't acknowledge anything after the original "Scream". They were unnecessary in my book. The first movie told and RESOLVED the whole friggin' story, for corn's sake. The writers actually had to pull stuff out of their ass to tell further stories. Especially that Scream 3. The killer is the mother's-sister's-cousin's-brother's-dentist's-nanny's-roommate's-uncle's-bartender's-stockroom clerk's-girfriend's-pizza delivery guy!

In the words of the great Dean Winchester: "Oh, C'MON!" 😛

Lol, say whaaaat? It wasn't anything at all even close to that random or ridiculous, in fact it was the most personal of all the killers for christ sake, it was
Sydney's brother!

I simply adored the Scream Trilogy, and yes even Scream 3 despite the apparent lack of love for it on this thread. It might be in part because of my super girl crush on Parker Posey but yeah I loved it, more than Scream 2. So needless to say I am stoked for Scream 4 to come out. They better NOT kill off Sydney though, ever! She's the horror movie chick that always beats the killer, it would be CRAZYNESS to kill her... I really wouldn't like that! I wish Patrick Dempsey would be in Scream 4 so they could be all happily married after all this time!

I totally agree! I'm glad someone else has love for Scream 3! (And Parker Posey is AWESOME)
Oh, that sucks. I thought they were one of those couples that would last forever. I guess working together would be tough. Especially working on a movie where you're playing an idealistic version of couples instead of being a real life couple. I always thought that would be strange.

Hopefully they work it out. I'm rooting for youse!

I love love love your siggy!!
I loved the blurry trailer and all lol.
I need to remember to tape the spike awards they said it would be tuesday, so I can see it clearer.

I just saw the trailer for the first time on the 2010 Scream Awards. I had no idea they were even thinking about making another one! I freaking loved the first one! I remember actually screaming because it was so scary! Plus, it had a bunch of hot people in it who made fun of movies just like it, while paying tribute to the classics!

Unfortunately, when they showed the trailer all I could think of was Scary Movie....Grr Argh. Damn spoof movies! But I was also thinking what could Sydney go through this time? And that mask is still exactly the same? I mean, couldn't they come up with a little bit of a new schtick? Nevertheless, you'll find me at the theater hoping for a scream and a laugh!:tongue4:

there's now an even longer, must clearer trailer on youtube.
Thanks I just looked it up and it looks great. Kristen Bell made me smile how she was looking. And lmao at Lucy Hale just giving the phone to the other girl.
It isn't looking good for gail at all.
In this trailer when Sid said something like "If you have guts you will do it" I was like no no Sid I want you to live LOL. It looks okay. Then in the new one gail says it too. Was that gail saying that in the first one from the scream awards?
