I voted I don't like labels too because I don't think sexual orientation should be a way to define people and unfortunately today's society tends to do that.
By the way, male straight but like MozYa said Bi Curious, you can not say you do not like something till you do not try it.
Why is it 'unfortunately'?
Also, why do people insist on suggesting that we define another person by one trait, while ignoring the fact that we are the sum of our parts, thus we can be defined by them.
If you are a gay man, that doesn't tell anyone anything else other than you have a sexual preference and that you are male - BUT it does go some way to telling another person a facet of who you are.
People who "don't like labels' use them ALL the time, its how we manage to work in the society, it doesn't mean they are bad or wrong, its just another way for the human mind to understand another person.
There is no such thing as a negative label, just a negative intention.
I could meet a black gay man in the street.
This is neither a positive or negative statement, its just some observable facts one makes about another.
However, I could use this same phrase, using different intonation, and turn it into an attack on who that person is.
The problem is, if I was that predisposed to react negatively to someone for a facet of who they are, I would do it no matter what, I would find a way to ridicule this person.
Thats not the labels fault, thats the person who wishes to descriminate.
I hate people who discriminate but I also hate people who refuse to accept that labels are not an issue, just a necessary function.
