Inspired by Lindsey McDonald's statistical analysis of this thread, I searched for the poll we once had here in Social Studies... and it seems it has long since passed on into thread heaven. 🙂

So I thought, let's start a new one. Feel free to poll and/or post away.

i voted I don't like labels, simply because the fact that whether one is straight, bi or gay shouldn't be a factor in how people are judged or viewed.
having said that, I'm a male and am straight, but I'm open minded 😉

You're music flowers are nice! Pitty about the green thing in the middle.
Male and straight. Or is it closet lesbian? 😉 Nah, male but in close touch with his femenine side. Just not close enough to be attracted to other guys.

edit: IM, you've voted for what I think? 😉

Ah yes, how could I forget?

Yeah, you never know, two things 1. He was 11. 2. He was an idiot.

Love the banner though, really do!

He's a year younger then me. It was my last year of intermediate

So I think he just wanted "attention".
What is the actual point of this thread?
To find out which female members have at least a passing interest in bisexuality so that you can strike up a friendship with them, then fullfill your cyber-sexual fantasies?

its important to take an annual gayness study of Buffy Boards. We'll need a commitee to keep the gayness in check, preventative measures are needed

Someone seems jealous that they didn't think of it first ;)
I know I voted Male and Straight, but I do lean bi-curious at the oddest of times for men as strange as the women I seem to fall for though I'd say overall I'm leaning asexual, I have a low libido.

I voted I don't like labels too because I don't think sexual orientation should be a way to define people and unfortunately today's society tends to do that.
By the way, male straight but like MozYa said Bi Curious, you can not say you do not like something till you do not try it.

Why is it 'unfortunately'?
Also, why do people insist on suggesting that we define another person by one trait, while ignoring the fact that we are the sum of our parts, thus we can be defined by them.

If you are a gay man, that doesn't tell anyone anything else other than you have a sexual preference and that you are male - BUT it does go some way to telling another person a facet of who you are.

People who "don't like labels' use them ALL the time, its how we manage to work in the society, it doesn't mean they are bad or wrong, its just another way for the human mind to understand another person.

There is no such thing as a negative label, just a negative intention.
I could meet a black gay man in the street.
This is neither a positive or negative statement, its just some observable facts one makes about another.
However, I could use this same phrase, using different intonation, and turn it into an attack on who that person is.

The problem is, if I was that predisposed to react negatively to someone for a facet of who they are, I would do it no matter what, I would find a way to ridicule this person.
Thats not the labels fault, thats the person who wishes to descriminate.

I hate people who discriminate but I also hate people who refuse to accept that labels are not an issue, just a necessary function.

Blondie Bear agrees: Wait, didn't we do this already? 😵

Its Buffy-Boards. If we don't have the same discussions 3 times a year, it wouldn't be Buffy-Boards!

so, quick question - why wasn't another Slayer called after Buffy died in season 5?

Yep. What do you think I put in the last line of the poll for? 😉

Of course one can argue the whole "being in the wrong body" thing but I think most (most not everyone) say it in a joking way.
I'm certainly not joking about it. 🙂

Nah, I'm not quite desperate enough to use a poll as a masked contact ad. Besides, it would have been smarter to make the poll non-anonymous in that case. 😛

The point really is more to see whose estimation is closer to the real demographics here, mine or Lindsey's.

Just wanted to get the last 0,1% to be totally sure I was right. Not a fan of doubt. :P
