Shows You Gave Up After Seeing Several Episodes/Seasons

I have quite a bit saved on my Sky+ box that I'll probably never get round to watching....

8 eps of The Strain S2 (I was hoping it'd get better so I carried on watching)
6 eps of Orphan Black S3 (I loved it, so I really want to find the time to watch the rest)

The problem is, I'm rewatching Angel at the moment, so all my spare TV time is spent on that and I'm only on S3E4 so I have a way to go yet.....

I loved Orphan Black s3, the progression of the show is great!
The X-Files- The first thing I ever stopped before the end. I bought the 'exclusive' videos promising the 'truth', I watched the Lone Gunmen spin-off (yeah, I was one of the few), I tried to figure out the conspiricy even when it clearly didn't make any sense, I went to see the first movie in hopes of closure. I watched it when the introduced Doggert but not the other agent that replaced Sculley. I grew to loath Chris Carter and his ceaseless money-grabbing.
Millenium was so much better in every concievable way.
The Newsroom- I pretty much hated all the smug self-satisfied characters after the first season. In my head they all died horribly and never bothered anybody ever again. Also a lot of episodes were full of hateful lies.
True Blood- peaked in S2, which I realized in the middle of S3 when I quit.
Arrow - just got so ridiculous after the Bane-lite storyline.
The Flash - suffers from-Smallville-itis. Boring love interest tha tthe main character is so in love with, freak of the wqeek all from the same power source. evil guy posing as friend. Had a been-done better feeling.
Gotham - about the time Fish Moony woke up on that weird island. pass.
True Detective Season 2 (look at all the dark, screwed up detectives! Aren't we gritty, ooh...No, you're cliched)
Eureka- after two episodes. Blah, wasn't for me. I didn't like the tone.
Supergirl- after 2 episodes. I was just...bad.
Bones- after the Gormagon killer it just got so stupid. It became all about the romance, Brennan's character got more iiritating the more she interacted with normal people yet didn't evolve.
Fringe- During the aftermath of the whole Faux-livia plot
Heroes- Afer the weak second season.
Castle- I've just fallen behind with this. I still mean to catch up with it. I mainly watch it for the Nate.

The Vampire Diaries- Stopped watching early season 4. Was curious when I heard that Elena was written out, but being a completest, I wanted to try and fill in the gap... got bored part way through s4 again.

Heroes- Part way through season 3.

Supernatural- Lost track around season 3. Tried to pick it back up a few times, but just haven't been able to get back into it.

Witches of East End- Someone bought me s1 for my birthday. That's the only reason I got to the end of that one season.

Scandal- Can't remember which season I was on, just remember that I never wanted to see Olivia and Fitz again... ever!

American Horror Story- Stopped about half way through season 4.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch- Stopped after season 5. Years later, got the complete box set. Season 6 actually had some fairly decent episodes, but season 7 was just awful. Also, Sabrina herself is actually a horrible person... just sayin'.

Once Upon a Time- This is the most recent. Season 5 started off alright, but by the end of the first half I was hugely disappointed and had reached my "give a sh!t" quota with most of the characters. No interest in continuing... maybe call me if Zelena gets a spin off.

Season 7 of Sabrina is AWFUL you're right. I like the rest, season 6 a bit less than the rest, but 7 is unredeemable.

I was shocked by the ending of Sabrina, where she ditches her groom at the altar to ride off with Harvey, and yet her groom and his family wave to them smiling. That was so messed up.
Gotham - sometime towards the end of season 1
Flash - early season 1, maybe 3 eps in, I still watch the crossover eps though
The 100 - after about 3 eps
Smallville - somewhere around season 5
Once Upon a Time - season 3, although I do mean to try it again.

There's probably more that I'm forgetting, but I don't actually start many shows

How I Met Your Mother. The first three seasons were great, but it went downhill from there. There were still some really great episodes, but the overall story became so repetitive. Stopped after Season 6 or 7. Don't even remember.

Wasn't worth watching after seasons 6-7, I know, I kept watching :P
Jessica Jones - gave up after maybe 9-10 episodes.
The Walking Dead - watched a few seasons like 2 & 3 (missed s1).
House of Cards - gave up after end of 2nd season premiere.
Sleepy Hollow - stopped after few episodes into the 3rd season.
X-Files - skipped most of the 8th & 9th seasons, but watched the series finale.

There's only like 12 eps of JJ lol
Taake: Season 7 of Sabrina is AWFUL you're right. I like the rest, season 6 a bit less than the rest, but 7 is unredeemable.

Yeah, I actually didn't mind season 6 either. There were some really fun bits like the Greek gods and the Halloween train episodes; I enjoyed those a lot.
Season 7 really had nothing going for it. I don't know how much of online hearsay is true (if any), but perhaps they should have just wrapped things up with a special since the odds seemed so stacked against the season.

The Walking Dead - watched a few seasons like 2 & 3 (missed s1).

Big mistake. Season two's even better than the first one. Besides the ending of that second season opener is great. Its a real punch in the gut moment which you don't see coming😉

Can't say I blame you. Guess I'd say Season 9 is the better one of out of the two but without Mulder and Scully there full-time it just wasn't the same. Liked the finale though🙂

Revenge - I gave up somewhere in s2. Just got boring and I lost interest. But I loved s1.

One Tree Hill-quit after Lucas and Peyton left, that was the last straw, but I wanted to quit as soon as they did the time jump. I think perhaps it's just that I had grown up and the show no longer appealed to me.

American Horror Story-Loved Murder House and Asylum. I made it through 8 ep of Coven and had to give up, I hated it. Gave it another try for Freak Show, once again had to quit after maybe 8 episodes.

Bates Motel-quit after s1, it's not a bad show at all, but it didn't really keep me invested in it. I would like to give it another try though.
I gave up on OTH when it was airing in s2! Lol. I did go back to rewatch the first 6 eps and they were fine but I can't continue on.

Yea I gave up on AHS:hotel. It's the worst. So many things wrong.

I like s2 of Bates Motel, haven't seen s3 yet.
The Flash - suffers from-Smallville-itis. Boring love interest tha tthe main character is so in love with, freak of the wqeek all from the same power source. evil guy posing as friend. Had a been-done better feeling.
Barry and Iris was terrible, s1 had it's moments but I'm loving s2. No Barry/Iris romance and both characters are better for it. Also super excited it's going to cross with Supergirl cause that show is getting better too!.

Scandal- Can't remember which season I was on, just remember that I never wanted to see Olivia and Fitz
is Fitz the president? I binge watched that show until mid season 2 cause I just could not take her and the president anymore.

When I have time I'll try s2 of Bates Motel

Yeah he's the president. I caught a bit of it recently and it didn't look like anything had progressed since I quit watching.
The Vampire Diaries - Whichever the last one with Elena was, that was the last season I watched. I have no idea how I lasted that long either. It drove me freaking crazy. I think it would have benefited from having less episodes per season. The story lines just drag on and on.

Game of Thrones - I watched all of season 1 and bit of season 2 so you can't say I didn't try! I wanted to like it, but I was bored out of my mind. I couldn't focus on it, my mind kept wondering and as a result I would get confused and have no idea what was going on.

Doctor Who - I don't care for Peter Capaldi. I watched the first season with him in it and I just found him so cold and kinda boring. I've heard that season 9 (?) is better, but I haven't been able to bring myself to try it yet.

I also tried and quit on Boardwalk Empire, Fear the Walking Dead, Grimm and Haven.

Oh i love Peter Capaldis doctor! My favorite!
The Flash - suffers from-Smallville-itis. Boring love interest tha tthe main character is so in love with, freak of the wqeek all from the same power source. evil guy posing as friend. Had a been-done better feeling.
I think it suffers from a more fundamental problem: the whole show is built upon the assumption of stupidness.

Proper superheroes like Buffy or Spiderman always try to maximize their power's utilities, thinking of creative ways to make their relatively weak power stronger.

In contrast, Barry criminally underuses his godlike power and allows petty "villains" to win. I get the meta reason, because otherwise there won't be any plot at all. But the in-show reason? He is too stupid to live.

Bates Motel - Gave up after the first episode of Season 3. Although I will watch it in the future to see how it ties into the original movie, for now I've put it on hold.
Scream - Bad acting, (mostly) shallow characters, and overall really boring. I only made it through the first five episodes and then skipped to the end just to see who the killer was.

Disagree, it was unnecessary & they were kinda making him into some kinda congressional Dexter. No thank you.

S.H.I.L.E.D-Gave up after a few episodes, felt too Skye-centric for my liking.

PLL-Became very confusing and I lost interest.

Degrassi- After 12 seasons, I've had enough.

Scream-The movie is way better.

How could I forget about PLL, this show gave me a whiplash

Agree about Shield and Degrassi
How I Met Your Mother - Didn't even get past 2 eps of S1

The Vampire Diaries - Lost interest in the middle of S3, so boring

White Collar - Just dull all around, characters and plot

Sex and the City - didn't even make it past one ep, just horrid, awful characters

How to Get Away with Murder - I watch one ep and didn't find anything remotely likable about any of the characters or the writing in general

Dawson's Creek - I got all the way to S5 and then couldn't make myself watch the final season. I did watch the finale, and I have the whole series on DVD, but it's just not doing it for me, lol

Lost - The show moved to a channel that our cable company didn't subscribe to sometime in S3. When we got it back, it was just too hard to try and catch up, so I just didn't bother.

Grimm - Just...forgot about it, lol. I think I got to the end of S3, I know it's on Netflix, so maybe I'll catch up some day.

Friends with Benefits - I was really only watching this for Danneel Ackles - because I love her - but there was nothing likable about the show and soon even her beauty wasn't enough to get me through it, lol.

There's probably been more, but that's all I can think of right now.
