So who else can't wait for Arrow?

Not exactly a great episode imo, but which serie premiere is? I enjoyed it and I am looking for more. Unfortunately, since I am doing a Smallville marathon at the moment, I kinda miss Justin Hartley. He will always be my favorite Green Arrow. This actor isn't bad at it, though. And I like the story so far.

Justin Hartley will always be Green Arrow too me, I love Smallville.

I've been meaning to re-watch Smallville, but I watched it on T.V. until the end and I remember post S5 not enjoying it as much. After Alfred Gough and Miles Millar left...well, it would have been like Joss Whedon leaving Buffy. I just didn't think it was the same. But Smallville S1-4 I absolutely loved. Liked S5 too.

I have never seen the episodes of Smallville with Justin Hartley, so I have nothing to compare Stephen Amell to. 😛

I really liked the pilot. I'm going to assume that Green Arrow is part of the DC-Comics-verse? Only because he's the son of a billionaire who fights crime in his city at night [which sounds a lot like DC's Bruce Wayne/Batman].

But I enjoyed the show. I'm going to keep watching. 🙂

Yeah the Green Arrow is also a member of the Justice League and is a big role in the last 4 or 5 seasons of Smallville.

I wished we'd seen more of the Justice League in Smallville... I hope we'll get a taste of it in Arrow too. I almost like them as much as the Avengers! (well, when Green Arrow is played by Justin Hartley and Superman by Tom Welling, anyways!)

I heard that the Arrow world is supposed to be a world without super powers if thats the case I dont think there will be much of a justice league 🙁 I do have a feeling the body guard guy is gonna start fighting crime with him lol.

Totally. I thought that the show would morph into Smallville featuring the Justice League in the final few seasons, but that never really developed. I could see Arrow, especially now the Nolan Batman franchise wrapped up, interacting from time to time with Bruce Wayne, and them hinting at Batman. I'm not sure about the more "powered" ones like Superman and Wonder Woman though. If they're going with a world-without-powers feel, that wouldn't really fit.

I think that Deathstroke will be the franchise villain on Arrow. We saw his mask very briefly at the beginning of the episode impaled on an arrow on the island Oliver was marooned on, and he's got a long history with Green Arrow in the comics. He's an awesome bad guy.

You totally lost me from the moment you started talking about the comics XD
I just read the Avengers: Origin (1 to 5) and I want to read the Justice League comics, but there aren't much at the library (even at the huge one downtown...)

Arrow was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I'm excited for what they do with it this season and how they develop all of the secondary characters around Oliver. Most of them were more interesting to me than Ollie, which was good. I particularly enjoyed the guy playing Tommy Merlyn.

I wouldn't get my hopes up very highly for any sort of Justice League or "Smallville" connection. According to this article

http://screenrant.com/green-arrow-tv-show-cw-smallville-aco-147066/

there isn't any connection with the current series and the previous show. Granted, that doesn't TOTALLY rule out visits by Aquaman, Batman, and the rest, I don't see anything like that happening, at least not until Season 3 or 4, assuming that the show lasts that long, if ever.

I watched the pilot episode along with last night's episode with the hubby last night, and I have to say I'm not crazy about it. I think the action scenes are pretty awesome, but I don't like any of the characters, including Oliver. :\

I've been really digging Arrow so far. The pilot greatly exceeded my expectations and the second episode was rock solid too.

There are aspects of this new Oliver Queen that I really like. It would have been very easy for the producers to just make him Bruce Wayne-lite, but I like that they haven't done that. They're both edgy, but they're unique from one another. Oliver seems like he's going to be a very well-developed character over the course of the season, which I really like. He's not just your stock hero archetype. I like the bodyguard character a lot too. Speedy, Oliver's sister, is awesome too, in...uh...several ways 😀.

You know what's been interesting though? I like the Oliver Queen scenes way, way more than I do the Green Arrow parts. The flashbacks are very cool too. I've found the character of Oliver really interesting. He hams it up a bit too much when he's in costume but as Oliver, very cool.

See, for me it's the contrary. I prefer his Green Arrow scenes. I totally dig the action scenes (which I think are much better than Justin's were). I like his other scenes, but I still root for Justin more.

And I'm gonna keep talking about Justin Hartley until they at least finish the first season XD

Totally agree that the fight scenes themselves are much better and better choreographed than what Green Arrow did on Smallville (way better actually). I was talking more about when he's trying to be intimidating to the criminals. He just kind of feels like he's imitating Christian Bale, and while I loved it on Batman, I just don't think that this guy does it particularly well. It's a very minor complaint though.

I think that Justin Hartley is a great actor, and it's a little strange seeing someone else call himself "Green Arrow" simply because Hartley was on Smallville as that character for so long. But in relation to the comics though, I like Amell better actually. Justin Hartley was great at his own character though, if I'm making any sense here.
